She goes by Jesicca/Jessica Clinton now from Anchorage, Alaska. She responded to my roommate ad on Craigslist.

I speak English and French  fluently..I am currently working on a research pertaining to my course work in culture and tourism.... I hope to end my current assignment by the end of this month here in Alaska and focus on my new assingment to your States..    I will like to make a  payment of  $609 and reserve the room  for me before my arrival, and then i will make subsequent payment thereafter as i plan to stay for more than 6months. She sent a check of $2950. The check is from Eglin Federal Credit Union and was mailed from a Jasmine Williams, 3161 32nd St, Fargo ND, 58103.

I really appreciate giving me the room as a potential roommate and the information provided,i consider the money i would have waste if i don't get a place down before my arrival to the state...
 Right now i have told my uncle about you and he agree with me and really wish to know more about you and talk to you too,so i'll appreciate if you could forward your contact number to me and he will ring you very soon,okay?
 He also told me to ask if you can help me out because now he is the only one that i lookup to {breadwinner}since i loss my parents years back and he wanted to make sure that everything go well for me, he will be sending the payment for the room to you by next week and he will include my shipping fee with your rent fee and you can paid my shipper at the point of there delivery of my stuffs to my future home,as he will be helping me out with the shipping of my car, luggage,furniture and my computer that i will be bringing in for the research prior to my arrival.
He want to know how trusting you are,so he said that if you agree,he will make sure he get the payment to you by next week,okay? Yep, jasmine williams. It all seemed great at first, then when she didnt want to answer questions or reply to my emails about background check and not receving her things till she was here, it seemed odd. She said she would answer them at a later time, that she was leaving for India. I told her to re read and respond to the email, and then no response. But supposedly the check was supposed to arrive today, but has not,, which I didnt plan to deposit or cash until I did some investigating, I had heard of these scams before. I let her know that I figured her out, and will be contacting anyone who can look into it.

Sounds like she got her names mixed up. She had been emailing me as well at the same time using the name jasmine williams, with the fargo, ND address. She told me the check would arrive yesterday, and then yesterday she said she checked and that it would arrive today. Guess her schemes are falling through!

She is at it with Craig's Listing for South Jersey. Using name Jasmine Williams at 3161 32nd St, Fargo, ND 58103. Same stories about renting. Things were not adding up and I started a google search but actually found this site under Bing search. The number she gave is 701-428-7839. She doesn't answer questions if you pay attention to the conversations. We have been emailing and I thought it was odd about shipping her items and sending money to pay them. Thanks everyone. Hopefully she gets stopped.

I have just been victimized by this thug trying to steal from innocent people ! Goes by the same JASMINE WILLIAMS. A so called yoga instructor and nurse. Trying to send me money and this criminal has my address. I'm going to police department and filling a report. After reading all these why hasn't she/he been caught?! I'm amazed.

once you are aware of whats going on, get as much info as possible, such as the bank account
info she wants you to deposit the money into (after she calls you crying to send back the money bullS*%)
maybe someone can link a person to the account.... i believe the accounts based in india....

OMG I just did a search on a whim. She is doing same here in Florida. Advertising on Craigslist for a place to live in my area. I'm going to report her to Craigslist.

FYI anyone else doing the on line roomates thing ... before anything transpires and before you gvie your address... ask the person for a photocopy of their license so you can run a background check. That stopped the communication with 'Jasmine'. I will report her. So glad I did a search here before wasting any more of my time.

She sent me the exact same messages as everyone else. Saying her mom died of cancer, she's going to India for a yoga trip. I can't believe I'm being scammed. I found my first roommate on craigslist and she's amazing so I really wasn't worried about it. Now I'm terrified after finding this page. She was going by Jasmine Williams from fargo ND but the number was (701) 428-7839. I also received a check for almost $3,000 but it wasn't from North Dakota.. It was from Alabama. And the sloppy signature on the check was not jasmine Williams. I'm going to my bank tomorrow. Watch out for her

This person has contacted me as well. My gut was telling me something was not right. Iam glad I went with with my gut. Report will be filed. Thankfully I caught this in time.

Oh, wanted to let u guys know yes this person is going by Jasmine Williams, did say something they where going to be changing their numbers again.  Criags list has been contacted as well. Thank U to all who posted info.

She just sent me an email about wanting to rent a room from me. Word for word what you all are saying. How do we get her taken down?

Yep, I got scammed by the same person in Pardeeville Wisconsin.!  Same story as everyone is stating.  Wanted to rent a room but went to India for a seminar and the shippers will bring her things (car, bed, chest of drawers) before she gets back! She said she lived at 3161 32nd St  Fargo, North Dakota 58103 phone # (701)  428-7839 and that her mother had just died and she was tying up things. The cashiers check that she sent, looked authentic and almost got cashed but I asked more questions.  The check was for $2964.00.  My biggest fear is that she had my address but the Sheriff said they never would have arrived with her 'stuff'!  Rather, I would get another note from her saying that the shippers needed some kind of money to start the move and to please send them X amount of dollars.  The sheriff also said that the original post was probably taken from someone else and then Jasmine continued from then on.  This helped explain why the original was good English and the rest was broken English. I wrote to her and told her that if you would just use all this energy for 'good' she could be powerful but all she can be viewed as at this point is a con and a predator!    All my correspondence is with the Sheriff's department and I have tried to flag Craigslist.  Where is the FBI when you need them?  

I literally have been having a back and forth conversation with this "Jasmin Williams" and I realized early on it was a scam. I tried  to report it to the sheriffs station, but since I technically was never scammed by "her" they wanted nothing to do it. Below is her recent info as of two days ago. This is her last email to me as of two days ago and at the bottom will show a different address and phone number. I really want to take this person down. I feel so sorry for the ones who have actually falling for this crook.

And future monthly rents will be met on time. Please understand that I just want to have firm plans. I know almost everyone does the facebook thing, but i am just not just a fan but if you do want me to open one, I would consider it. Wow! I got an email from here today. She's hitting St Louis, MO. I googled her make and I found this website! Whew! Thank you soooo much! I did respond to her email but thank goodness I didn't give her my address or cell phone number. I'm def checking references, credit check and criminal back ground check. She's using the name Jasmine Williams and she's of course saying her mom recently died of cancer, she's a traveling nurse and she's a yoga instructor. Wow wow wow....

Exact same responses, word for word. Glad I found this site.
