- JacksonThey told me "f*ck with us, and you won't live to see 2010". Isn't a death threat illegal?
- Caller: Citi's "hit men"
- Call type: Debt collector
- Duhhh replies to k| 3 repliesThey would not be calling if you were up to date on your bills. They do not just call for no reason. And they can call anytime from 8am-8pm and not be in violation of the Fair Credit Act. I am late on my Sears that is why they are calling! The only problem is, is that I was Perfect on my bills and then they decided to raise my interest rate and what I had to pay monthly because I was late ONCE on my car payment. It affects all cards, and its LEGAL for them to do it.
So paying them 100.00 a month now instead of the 50.00 I was paying is now impossible. So they can just keep on calling - mel| 2 repliesPlease make them stop calling i dont know what and who they are. they need to stop they call every day all day every 5 mins., i am going to report them to the phone compandy
- me6279 replies to mel| 1 replyNot much point in getting nasty with people online because they made bad financial decisions. A perfect person would likely have better things to do. I think its wrong not to pay someone back if you said you would (signed a contract). Most people on here would see it different if they were the one who mistakenly loaned the money and would be pretty upset that they were not going to be paid back. They might even feel that they should not pay the penalty for others problems regardless of whether they caused them or were the victim of chance.
I intended to pay my debt off but things got out of hand. It is what it is now and I dont make any excuses. The world didnt conspire against me I just made bad decisions instead of the good ones made by those not in this situation. I intend to change the situation and the way I do things to succeed in the future.
The important thing now is not sit there doing the same thing you have always done and not waste time blaming anyone any company the world or God for your predicament. If you cant see you made mistakes then you have problems far worse than financial ones. The world is not just and niether are the credit card companies but you cant change them only yourself and you cant change if you think the whole world revolves around you, is here to serve you and that you are absolutely perfect and correct in all things.
I do find that setting the individual ringtone to mute for each new # really cuts down on the times they get to make my phone ring and they have yet to leave a message. - worried| 1 replyThey keep calling me about a Sears balance. I know I owe it but my husband and I have been out of work for almost a year and my kids come first! They sent me a letter that it will be handed over to an attorney. Why do they want to pay attorney fees and all that instead of try to work with me? Any one else been actually taken to court? How long did it take?
- Caller: Citi (Sears)

- UnemployedI get calls daily now! The business that my wife and I had has gone bust so now went can’t pay our bills! I have a job working with the school, but during the summer I don’t get paid and I can’t get unemployment or food stamps! Buy the way they can’t put anyone in jail for credit card debt, but they can sue you in court and get a judgment against you! Also I pay my creditors $20 a month right now that way they can’t take me to court for not paying my bills!

- Linda Pratt replies to Mack| 1 replySame here. I try to call back and the number will not go through. No message is left and no one to talk to. hummmmmmmmmmmmm.... If you have a cell phone just hit the REJECT this number under OPTIONS and the calls will no longer come through.
- Susie Burress replies to charlie| 2 repliesI have no sears card! Weird
- LAMET replies to Linda PrattWHY ARE YOU CALLING THE NUMBER THEY LEFT BACK? ITS PROBABLY A SCAM
NEVER CALL BACK THE NUMBERS THEY LEAVE - you call the bank directly using KNOWN VALID NUMBERS!
If you have an account those numbers are located on the back of your card or on your statements - or you can find the REAL WEBSITE on the internet and call the contact numbers there.
ITS MORE IMPORTANT TO VALIDATE THAT IT IS A LEGITIMATE CALL FIRST! - lamet replies to EB| 1 replyfdcpa does not apply to the original creditor - only rd party debt collectors.
- lamet replies to DuhhhYou probably are involved in this scam.
A lot of collection agencies call on non-existent debt - LAMET replies to JacksonWhat do you mean arrest warrants? threats of arrest are illegal!
DEBT IS A CIVIL MATTER -not a criminal matter. YOU CANNOT BE ARRESTED FOR DEBT. - LAMTE replies to worriedIF THEY DO TAKE YOU TO COURT - MAKE SURE YOU SHOW UP - OTHERWISE THEY GET A DEFAULT JUDGEMENT.
You have to go to court and explain that due to economic crisis you do not have jobs and cannot pay it, but once you have income coming in AGAIN you will pay it.
I know they don't care - but the courts will probably listen. - john l.called 3x and as soon as i answer, they hang up
- TB replies to TSure, that's why they do this kind of thing. If they NAG you long enough, you'll let the utility bills go and feed your family dog food to pay on the account - just so they'll leave you alone.
Tell them you'd love to give them the money if you had it - but you don't - and tell them how much you'll be paying on a specific date. Tell them to have a good day (even though you don't mean it)then go eat a healthy meal with your family and sleep in a warm bed. - ChrisWe have received several phone calls from this 502-357-7999 number. I have gotten into confrontations with them. We own a Sears card and have never been late. This phone number is not legitimate and should not be allowed to dial our home at all hours of the day. I called my phone company and they were no help at all. This is nothing short of complete harassement! COWARDESS HARASEMENT! They are probably based in a foreign country that would employ such Kerr's to harass American's, this is how they do it in secrecy~

- reply to people paying their bills..tag replies to tag| 1 replyLook dude, I just got my phone number and I've never had a Sears card, and these people are calling. I want to also remind you we are in a recession and if people are about to be homeless because they are losing their house due to debt because they got laid off, can't find employment, then maybe their employer is fighting their unemployment claim, they are about to lose their house after already losing their car, have unpaid medical bills and now they are sick and have no medical insurance, they would probably try to avoid foreclosure before paying Sears anyway. Maybe if they are sick enough and die, they will leave their widow with children with enough in Social Security that the debtors will try to go after her when she now can't afford to take care of their kids and their savings have been drained. Not happening to me thank God, but I have heard of such things happening, so not everyone's a dead beat or have their parents pay bills for them. Try to open your small mind up to other possibilities and grow a heart. And before you try and judge ME, I have good credit, but not because I haven't fought for it.
- PortGot five calls today from this number and one similar. I will add my vote to the Sears Credit Card pile. I bungled my Sears card bill last month and didn't send it out. Instead of sending it out at all, I rolled the money I would have normally sent to this month. I sent out my payment this week, so I imagine the calls will take care of themselves. They put the card on hold after 2 weeks late and the card has a whopping $800 balance on it. Seems a certain credit company is getting a tad fiesty.
Of course, the calls are not bothering me at all, as my "home" phone is my cell phone and my cell is always set to silent unless I'm expecting a call. Laughing out loud, indeed. - jThey keep calling me daily- every 2 hours or so. The 2 times I've answered there has been NO ONE on the other line. I never answer to numbers I don't know, or bank over the phone. If they want to contact me so badly you think they would actually talk once the phone has been answered.
- Madtat replies to kDear One Chromosone shy of a mongoloid, I don't have an account with them but good guess! Your family must be very proud!
