This call is consistant and nobody picks up. I am only able to identify it from my caller ID

Caller ID says NASSAUZN01 NY

If it was from Verizon shouldn't it say Veriozon?  I would say it definitely should unless it is a scam.  Also why is a NY office calling Va when FIOS is still not set up here yet?  Suspicious....

Another day another call, this about 8:34 pm.  I believe this is past legit call time for telemarketers.  Either way even if legit the fact that caller id does not display actual company name is suspicious.

Did not answer, will not answer cold callers.

After receiving a call from this number which claimed to be Verizon, I called Verizon - they confirmed that this call *IS LEGITIMATE*; however, it is a sales call.

*NOT A SCAM* as of 9/13/2014, but likely undesired anyway.

Until I see Verizon on my caller id instead of Nassauz01 ny I will still consider this a scam caller. A big company such as Verizon should have all their calls, sales or otherwise, clearly labeled as Verizon.

I agree, if it really is a Verizon call, why doesn't call id say Verizon????

I took Eastiee's advice. I called the number back, pushed #3 to place my number on Verizon's Do Not Call registry, and then pushed #1 to confirm. Hopefully, this will end the 2x/day calls I've been receiving from this number for the past week.

Just got a call from these folks. Very fast-talking guy who claimed to be with Verizon. I have never received a call from Verizon w/out that company's name appearing on the ID.

I've discovered a neat trick with "unknown callers". Save the number to your phone book, and if your phone has the option to "assign ringer", pick "no ringer". This way, they can call till their fingers fall off, but I don't have to listen to it ring.

ID says NASSAUZN01 NY.  It is Verizon Marketing and Promotions.  Simply call the number back and press 3 to be removed from the Promotions/Marketing list.  Simple!

I would not trust what you see on caller id. Many bogus operations spoof their information in effort to trick people. At this day and age of what I call telemaggoters, I don't think it is worth talking a chance.

Verizon sales department trying to sell new phone services

I have received several calls from this number but do not answer them. Phone rings about 4 times & never leaves a message.

The caller ID says NASSAUZN01 NY on my phone. Called, but left no message. I had contacted Verizon last year and was told I would not get any more calls. The only difference was the calls I got last year was from California.

Calling them back and pressing a button only lets them know your phone number is a live one. Does not mean they will never call you again, as Verizon hires different companies to represent them in order to sell you Verizon services. That company probably also represents other companies trying to sell you something. They can also sell their list of numbers to scammers.

Called on 11/13/14 time of first call 5:29PM,caller ID listed as unknown. Live call, male, Indian accent noise in background similar to that of call center. Referred to me as Mam, advised, he was calling from Microsoft. Windows receiving update problem reports from my computer. Insistent on walking me through steps needed to fix my computer via phone call. Informed him, did not trust random person claiming to be from Microsoft calling out of blue he should start by sending an email. He then asked me to provide my email address to him, he could not access. Advised him that I thought this to be a scam. If he really did work for Microsoft, he should be aware that they do not call people randomly. One has to have an account, so along with my phone number that he just called, he should have my user account info including name and email address. it should be right next to all of my other information. He disregarded, kept insisting, even going so far as to say that my computer, if these steps were not taken immediately, would be totally worthless and within a matter of days it would no longer be operable.
Two hours later, 7:29PM, I get another phone call from the same phone number but caller ID, rather than listing unknown, comes up as NASSAUZN01 NY. Live caller, woman with no particular accent, noise in background again being similar to that of a call center. States that she is calling from some company so quickly that I could not understand what she had said, I asked her who it was that she was calling from, she said Verizon FIOS. Calling in reference to upgrading DVR she explained bigger capacity, which would have raised my bill by only ten dollars a month with a one time activation fee. Wanted to get me set up right away and then wanted to confirm she had the account information correctly which she rattled off and then asked me to confirm. I realized the whole sales pitch was the real question, the identification confirmation was a tactic to get me to say yes. I did not say yes, I said no, not interested. (You DO NOT want to say YES at any point, in some of these calls that is all it takes due to wording of statement, you may think you are only confirming correct info, but that wasn't the real question; the question was the upgrade, the confirmation is for the sole purpose of getting you to verbally say the word yes).
To be honest, the second call sounded legit, it wasn't until I went into my phone system to block the scam call that I had gotten 2 hours earlier that I saw the caller ID  and that both phone calls had come from the same phone number, (516)570-9227.

Called Saturday, 11/15/14 at 2:39 PM PST.  Caller ID showed Nassauznoi NY and this caller.  Our phone is answered by Sentry robo call block which gives message that we do not accept telemarketing calls, to remove our number from their calling list, and to press "0" if they want to leave a message.  No message left.
