When I redialed the # I got this recording: "Your call is important to us and will be answered by the next available representative". I couldn't press 3.

incessant calls

First time I've gotten a call from this number.  No message was left.  Caller ID on the incoming call was the same as listed above.  I already have Verizon and I'll call them if I want something.   This is probably a scam.

Two months ago I called the number back and told them (identifying themselves as Verizon) that I wanted them to stop calling. The calls stopped until a week ago and I'm getting these calls again.

Do not know caller, Blocked area code and prefix.....

I get this call, never answer and they never leave a message

I phoned them back and got a recording saying to phone:  1800-Verizon.

Received a call from this number last evening.

I used Verizon Premium Tech Support (which I pay extra for) over the weekend and I believe it is an automated call asking for me to complete a brief survey about the service I received. I didn't answer the phone but I looked through my old caller ID's and that is what happened the last time I used the Premium Tech Service.



I'm a Verizon customer, they should put VZ Customer Survey in for the caller ID.

They say provocative language and they cuss as well. They are rude.

1/17/15 11:09 PST  Not here when they tried to call.   Wouldn't have answered even if I had been.  What the devil is nassauzn01 ny.  Went to VM and left dead air for a few seconds.    Obviously, based on other notes, didn't miss a thing.

It is the name of the switch at which the call to you enters the public switched telephone network:
Nassau NY, Zone 1.  (Nassau, N.Y. has several such switches, each handling a different set of phone numbers geographically based in that area, hence, the addition of the "Zone 1" suffix.)

It is not necessarily where the person using the number is located.  For example, you can keep your cell phone number wherever you move without changing your number.  The switch would thus remain the same no matter where you called from.  Or you can get your number ported to another address.  Or, most likely, this is an Internet call that is carried via a VoIP company to this switch.  Or it could be a spoofed number and have nothing to do with that switch.

About the only time anyone cares about the switch is when it comes down to money, often when terminating a call to a toll-free number, where the carrier that originated the call gets paid by the terminating carrier and ultimately, the user of the toll-free number.  Those rates can be sensitive to distance within the United States, its territories, and Canada.

Thanks!  I learn something new every day from this site.  Eventually, I may understand some of this stuff, but in the meantime, I will continue to report numbers and ID's I don't recognize and hope that there are more helpful folks like you to educate me.  I sincerely appreciate the time you take to respond.

same did not leave a message its sad that the telephone company keeps on giving these fine people a number where they can call from and they wont do a dam  thing about it neither all the technology that is out there they are still getting through to people and its ok for them to scam everyone

Caller ID was "Manhasset."  Presumed telemarketer.

They called from this number yesterday and I actually spoke with a live woman. They are from Verizon and are selling an add on project. After she read her script she immediately said she wanted to verify my name and phone number. She did not have my correct last name, I asked her if I was such a valued Verizon customer how do they not have my correct name. It wasn't even close. Since they call my house 5-6 times a day they certainly have my phone number. I told her I wanted to be put on the do not call list. She said ok but will take up to 60 days to go through. I asked her how they turn on added service immediately but do not call lists take 60 days. She hung up. Yesterday's caller ID showed Manhasset, sure enough they called back today. Caller ID showed Not Available, I answered but no one was there.

I answered only because I was expecting another call and didn't check the number before I answered.  Yes, it was Verizon---and since I am such a great person---so on and so forth, they have a great deal just for me.  I told her ' I wasn't interested in any upgrades or changes of any kind, thank you, goodbye'.  If they call again, and they probably will, I will not be so  nice with my answer.

Yes, this is correct ... I just enrolled in Verizon's DO NOT CALL REGISTRY.

Daily calls which I block, but if this is legit, why do they not have "Verizon" listed as caller as they are the phone company...seems  pretty easy to correct.  Or why not leave message???

This is why I think the calls are scammers.

They called and left no message while blocking their name from the caller ID.  Likely another scammer.
