Let e suggest to anyone not wanting calls from certain numbers the following program:  http://www.ezvoice.ezsofttek.com/

When I first got the program, I just wanted a flexible answering machine.  Then I encountered income problems.  If you spend all your time talking to collectors, you can get so upset that you can become immobilized.  I found this program (which answers the phone with your computer) does call screening.  It can recognize certain numbers and either play a special message for them, or simply hang up on them or, of particular interest, play the "the number you reached is no longer in service" telephone company message.  Their phone number is recorded and it hangs up.

This program kept me from being buried alive from collector calls.  Now I my income is rebounding and soon I will call the companies I owe and make payment arrangements myself.  I truly believe this program made my rebound much, much faster than would have otherwise been possible.  It put me in control of what was going on.

It works very reliably and is inexpensive.   I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Not true. I live in AZ and they tried to sue me for a debt of 650 dollars then they slapped a nice 300 to that when they sued me...they then tried to garnish my wages for it but I didnt make enough to garnish so I dont know what tricks they have up their sleeves now

We got a call from a guy named Tommy. He was arrogant and rude and talked over me. He called my mother-in-law and scared her to death (she's in poor health). They have no conscience or heart. We've tried to pay off our debt of 2000.00, but just like everyone else, we've fallen on hard times with the economy. In case they haven't noticed, the economy has gone to [***]. Harrassing us and our family won't get them their money. It might, however, get a foot up their a**es for continually calling. Heartless pricks!

Actually, garnishment and "wage attachment" is allowable depending on which state you reside. There are only a couple of states where wages can't be garnished or attached expect for child support, alimony and/or tax. For example,Texas does garnish/attach wages but Arizona does.

Each state that does allow wage garnishment/attachment has it's own guidelines to how the process works. This site lists basic garnishment information for each state ... http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/state-wage-garnishments.html .

These people are nasty bill collectors. They call themselves lawyers to get away with scaring people into paying as it sounds more official. Yes they can file a law suit against you on behalf of the credit company but it is not likely. If you don't have the money to pay the bill how can they get money for the attorney fees at the same time. Don't ever give out your personal info until they give you a written official letter demanding so.

OK, don't ignore them, they WILL sue you and will Garnish your wages.  Have garnished mine for the last 5 months at 25%.  I am almost done paying off the balance and would like to speak to someone there to make sure they stop garnishment.  What happens?  I call and it asks for an extension, if you don't have one, it hangs up on you.  So I started playing the numbers game, dialing random extensions and finally figured out it starts at 210.  Got up to 240 after 2 hours of dialing, still no end to how many extensions there are exactly.  Not a single person answered.  It is now 9pm and no one has called me back after several messages left at 5pm.  They, like all other debt collecters, are scam and rip off artists, but the law is on their side, and I worry that they will steal extra garnishment payments from me, when all I owe now is a little over $100.  BTW, their website, www.pezuttolawgroup.com only has an 800 number with no extensions.  Impossible to reach anyone.

Called my cell 3 times in less than a minute.  Launched into an attack on me right as I answered the phone.  Did not even make sure I was the person he was looking for.  He didn't even read the formal "Information obtained during the course of this call will be used for the purpose of collecting the debt" spiel.  I will be contacting my lawyer about this.  These guys are jokes.

Just called me twice in a row; left a voicemail the first time. The woman said she was from the Pezzuto Law firm and left a 800# to call back.

I've been told that it's best to contact the original lienholder when trying to settle a debt.

You guys are hilarious and all so wrong. I am a debt collector and we all really use our real names. It's not against the law for us to call your family; it's called skip tracing! And the FDCPA allows us to call your relatives and neighbors. I don't know what you guys are trippin on because most places will settle or give you payments that fit your needs. If you paid your debts, you wouldn't be in this situation, or if your family paid their debts, they wouldn't be subjecting you to getting calls as a relative or neighbor. If you tell them to stop calling, they will, but don't get on here thrashing collection agencies when you have no clue what you're talking about. Do your research and make educated comments instead of wasting your time with uneducated ignorant statements making yourself look dumb! Again, do your research; it may help you get your debts paid or talk to some of the reps at whatever agency your account is with. A lot of collectors are really excited to help you help yourself. I personally as an agent would rather liquidate the account rather than trying to play hard ball, but don't judge people talking about getting a real job. What we do is a real job. Half of you have collection items because your real job fired you or let you go. My job is hiring because your job fired you. So why don't you look at the fact that we work very hard to help you get these accounts taken care of and spend a lot of time and energy every day to get these accounts paid so your credit is good when you do get a job and want to buy a new house or car? Even though we don't have to refinance your debt, get over yourself! I work for a different agency than you're talking about, but I know people that do work for that agency and I know they are good people and know they do whatever they can to help you even though they don't have to. You just need to get the right person on the phone.

I receive these calls about once a week from this office...wanna get them to hang up on you? As soon as the call starts, I tell them to please hold while I then inform them that I need to start my recorder because I have been instructed by my attorny to record all phone calls reguarding my debt and to request a written document from their office...sure enough they hang up on me everytime...I will pay my debt off, but I wont be swindled or harrased by some low rate, douch bag, barely legal law office that is full of s**t!!!!!

I just got a call from these cowards as well, everyone that is reading if you can't afford to pay a bill they can't do anything to you. They will continue to call you but just ignore the calls. These are some of their scare tactics that they use.

And you should not when ever you get the money then pay to hell with them. You can't pay money that you don't have.
