They're still around. Got one late last night (4/6) "We have a very serious buyer for...(my company name)" sent to a very public fax machine...sure has some of the staff wondering...

The phone on my FAX  received this morning is 613 236-0719.
The message on my FAX is similar to others received.

Received the same.....ignore the too good to be true ones out there.

Amen.  No website and 4 pages of people receiving this garbage?  That's all I need to know.

Got this Fax on 4-09-2010.  We didn't grow our businesses with a brain that accepts such pie in the sky B.S.

From Western PA. Industrial electrical repair / sales business established 1926 he has an interested buyer. I don't know what the motive is, but appreciate and agree with comments their office 613 - 236 - 0719 I think they believe in Easter Bunny to.

I got it too, so I called and offered to buy them -- $3.50 CA

I received the same fax & off course company like this should have the website if they were legit....

Received a fax indicating that they had a "serious" buyer for my business.  Seriously?  If it was legite, I woudl expect a company to contact me by a more professional means.

We get calls and faxes like this from time to time. We use myfax.com I have no interest in the myfax company. There are many services like it. I can block unlisted faxes and they have a data base of junk fax #s, they will block for you. When you get a junk fax you report it, this is part of the service. They go after the faxi, for the legal penalties allowed law. Before I would get upset by the loss of paper and toner. I also use a VOIP phone. I don't even have a phone line into my company anymore. It saves me thousands.

I now use myfax.com. It is great!  They block unwanted faxes and add new ones to the list. I have a toll free fax # and it saves me money. I print only the faxes I need to.

Received Bert's fax this morning 04/19/2010 at approx 9:30AM DST.  I enjoy everyone's comments, but the truth is sometimes my company also uses these fax blasts to communicate with our current customers, of which number just over 5,000.  I don't blame the sender for trying, but I see a number of things wrong with it, the first one being a simple Google search leads you to this forum first, which is filled with everything that is bad/wrong with the fax.  If this were a legitimate business, or in fact if this were my business, I would counter all of these nay-sayers by establishing a web site confirming indeed that the business is not fictitious.

Bert's fax says he has "a very serious buyer.."  Surely if that was true, Bert (can't they come up with a better name) would call.  SCAMMMMMMM.

Just another Scam I guess

got fax from Montblanc Mergers Associates, Ltd. on 4/15/10.  called for "Bert Friedman" at 613-236-0719, got receptionist who answered with a different greeting.  said bert was on a conference call.  Her name was jackie stuart and said she was with U.S. Equity an affliate of M.M.A., in pompano beach FL   She said they help with sales to u.s. companies.  Wanted toknow sales figures for 08 & 09 along with net profit & amount of bank debt.   said to call back to her at 954-586-1000  ext. 3201--very entertaining! but a waste of time------

I am an attorney and a client of mine asked me to contact this alleged party who expressed interest in buying his business.   Looking at the commincation that had been given to me it looked suspicious.   However, I was aksed to investigate whether the alleged buyer was a qualified interested party so I placed the call.   The woman who answered the phone must have gotten wise because she did answer  "Montblanc Mergers."  However, when I identified myself as an attorney calling on behalf of a client to whom they had sent a communication, I was told they do not talk with attorneys and they will only talk direct with my client.    This is definitely a scam!

We just received the same scam fax.  Rule of thumb, if my owner was considering selling, why would he give out a general fax number in which everyone has access?  It is sad to see the quality of scam artist going down, we really should improve our public school system.

I received the fax on 4/22/10 and conducted Google search  on this "company".  Fortunately, I was led to this blog.  I did not call and won't.  It just didn't pass the "smell test" from the beginning and the comments here confirmed my suspicion.
