I am also running away with Nana - see below.
My name is Nana Linda Osei, Daughter of Nana Osei tutu the II, paramount ruler & king of the Ashanti kingdom of the republic of Ghana .
I am in search for a friend & partner who will help & support me in the transfer & sale of 80 kilos or raw alluvial gold dust which is a part of my inheritance & birth right as an Ashanti princess. I have to result to this because: I need the money from the sales of the Gold to pursue my musical career in the United States which my father, the King does not support, but this is what I love & want to be. Until I achieve this, I will not be a completely fulfilled human.
I am willing to offer you a reasonable percentage on arrangement & agreement if you accept to help me in this risk-free & highly beneficial enterprise.
Please contact me if you're ready to help me. I will be very grateful & I will owe my entire success & happiness to you.
Accept my kind Regards.
Nana Linda Osei - Tasmananian Devel replies to DeliaI recieved Bert's email this morning. I am filing it with all the emails from the clowns who want me to open an account so they can send me millions and millions of dollars.
Look up Bert's company on the internet, anything like this is a phoney. - SteveAloha from Hawaii!!

- Dateline NBCI just watched a special on why people fall for these "Bernie Madoff" type of things. We all want to feel special and that our hard earned business is indeed worth "millions". Just the chance that it could be real is often enough to push us over the edge....unfortunately with the www like it is anyone that even does the first step in research arrives here......Imagine if they actually had an IT staff and a website how much money they can make....The scam here is that you pay them to sell your business just like every other Mergers and Aquisitions company. They just trick you and give no effort to actually sell you...You have to admit the fax contact is hilarious......

- EarthlingSome of you folks need to get off the old FAX machine. You can easily set up your fax system to be sent directly to a computer instead. All incoming faxes are stored in a folder. Important ones can be printed if needed, and garbage like the subject of discussion here can be deleted without wasting ink toner or paper.
Go green.

Well now that wwas fun,
Steve - Conspiracy Theory| 1 replyAs my alias suggests, I cant help but wonder....who are the people gaining from such faxes?
First people who come to mind are those who make paper and ink toner!!
Now let's boil it down to all such companies in the Toronto Canada area.

- Jfpack replies to Darenhaha we laughed in the office about the "personal and confidential" being sent to an open fax.
I actually got a second fax the next day where Bert apologizes for me and wants me to call so he can set up an appointment with the chairman. - Mark McKinnon replies to DeliaJust received the same fax from the $330 million firm who wants to buy my $1 billion savings bank. What a joke. Unlike some of the others this one had an email address. Of the domain is bogus. Phone # used on this one is 613-236-0719. Reverse look-up of this number is an unpublished land line in Ontario. Smells like a Nigerian 419 scam to me.
- Phil in NYJust got a fax from Montblanc offering to buy a government highway department. Anyone know where there are no U.S. extradition rights before I make the deal? Preferably a warm climate!!!!!!!!

- not Michael replies to Conspiracy TheoryI can think of a couple others who could gain The most obvious is variations on the Nigerian scam. They send you a check for more than the agreed price, you send the excess back. Your check clears, theirs bounces, and you are out whatever you sent them. And they have your checking account number so they can help themself to more.
Another possiblity is identity thieft. You handle all the paperwork by fax. I doing that they get a copy of your offical company letterhead, your full name, title, and signature, the name of your bank, the location of your company, your Tax Identification number and all the other information they need to spend your money or to scam others using your name.
I personally belief that most phone and fax scammers are private individuals working in countries that do not cooperate with US or Canadian law enforcement. Nigeria is my 1st thought, but there are others. - U. HaimHow DARE you people give out this info......didn't you see on the fax: PERSONAL and CONFIDENTIAL!!!! what kind of business people are you??????? Got the same crap by fax today, getting my Nigerian gold tomorrow :)

- SFM CorpJust received the "Personal and Confidential" fax. A little research yielded that the phone number is unpublished; seems funny for North American Headquarters of a company to be unpublished. Also, address is for Wordan's t-shirt orders pick up location.
I was skeptical, but i called anyway. Mr. Bert Friedman put me in touch with his company's chairman. After a brief discussion, he gave me the name of the interested buyer. Short negotiation later and i am waiting for a check for a bajillion dollars to be deposited in to my newly opened account. He said i could also use account for Nigerian prince's large cash transfers from his homeland...- Caller: Montblanc Mergers Associates, Ltd.
