- Epacman replies to I hate scammersHow about "Mergers-R-Us.com for a ligit sounding mane?
- Jeff Lowy replies to patThere IS an e-mail address. nbonk@montblancmergers.com
Personally, I think its a scam as well, but your question was why wasn't there an e-mail address....and there is....but I'm guessing it's still a waste of time and effort. - Wata S Ucker| 1 replyWhat a deal! All we had to do was sign a few pieces of paper, send them a consulting fee for $45k, and they issued us a certified bank check for $7m for our company. Obviously the check must be good since it is certified and from the National Bank of Greece. When you call, just know that Mr. Friedman has a cold and that is why his Canadian accent actually sounds kind of Nigerian.

- hmmmm| 2 replieswe just got a fax from "bert" says a billonaire family want to buy our business
- Wally replies to hmmmm| 1 replyI just got the same fax from our buddy Bert from Toronto. Everyone knows this deal smells fishy - - - real fishy. Well, I am in luck. My company is in the seafood business out of Seattle and everything we deal with smells fishy. So Bert's presentment from "one of the wealthest families in the world" (Gates, Buffett, Helu, Ambani, ??) made sense to me. I figure this family wants to add additional 'smelliness' to their portfolio and was willing to pay big bucks for this opportunity. Well, as luck will have it, I will only sell my fishy smelliness for big bucks, so this could be a good fit and the real deal. Unfortunately, after reading the other posts, I am not sure I am going to have any luck getting Bert to the phone so we can make a deal - - - such is life.
Another thought - - - maybe Bert is not an honest broker, but rather a cyber terrorist who is focused on striking a blow against the North American economy. Just think of the enormous number of hours of corporate executive time that has been wasted reading, pondering, discussing, pursuing, reporting etc on these phoney faxes that this guy is blindly sending out to tens of thousands of companies? Bert is probably sitting back reading all these responses and just smiling over his gin and tonic - - - "Mission accommplished"!!
I wish you all well and much success. - Suspicious replies to WallyBesides the obvious scam concept, the guy couldn't even spell the name of the wealthy family correctly. It is Pritzker, not Pritzger. Nice job, "Bert". Also note fax number out of Florida, yet address and number in Canada. Danger Will Robinson......

- sba replies to Wata S UckerAre you kidding. There was an episode of dateline with a huge ring of people in the USA and Canada from Nigeria who tricked a woman from 100,000 by showing her fake bills painted black.
I'm sure Montblanc is probably running the same type of scams. They promise you all this money but in order to get they charge you ridiculous amounts. - cgloewenNow have the 2nd fax from Montblanc, glad this chat room confirms my first thought " too good to be true". I have gotten several phone calls from "companies" looking to buy us over the past year, so I think this is a trend in scams. They probably require a down payment to get to the next step, research fee, etc. When Warran Buffet says now is the the time to aquire, the scammers are listening too!

- ScottA fax came in today from Montblanc and was picked up by a receptionist who read it and brought it in to me. When I make the sale I guess I owe her a commission since the contact was made through her...
When I Googled it... it brought me to this Website. So, I'd really appreciate that some here follows up on this and yes of course I'll send all of my Banking Info so you can just deposit the ,money in my account.- Caller: America's Brewing Company

Ted - PANDEMAC replies to DeliaMay 25th and they are still trying to buy companies, since that is what they wrote to me about my company. Gee, I didn't know it was on the market!
- Mike C replies to patriciajust got the same fax today, we get all kinds of these. the last one stated the 300 million. this is called a fishing scam. they send out thousands of these hoping some poor [***] will call. not sure how they get you but it could be as simple as a phone charge attached to the number. i did reverse look-up on the 613 number and it come up as a Hull Ottawa number and the address shows as 1200 bay street Toronto. anyway, i don't think Bert Friedman is much of a Business. so Bert, if you'd like to buy my company come on in and see us. the coffee pots always on and don't forget to bring a really big certified cheque. lol
- DougMay 27th Report:
We've received three so far this month. Two from the $300 mil bunch and one from "one of the wealthiest families in the world" expressing an interest in our company. Yeah, right! Along with the 613 area code phone number one of them has a 954-586-1000 phone number. Interestingly, that area code is for Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Hmmm... There is an email address and a website: montblancmergers.com which brings up a page full of links beginning with "Breast Implants". A whois lookup for this website shows they are hiding behind a security company called Moniker Privacy Services 20 SW 27th Ave. Suite 201 Pompano Beach, FL 33069 so there is no telling who actually owns the website. Rolling over all of the links shows that they all point to pages on www.dsnextgen.com (IP 208.73.210.128) whose servers are located in Los Angeles, CA (probably just the hosting site). Doing a whois on dsnextgen.com shows their title as: information.com which if I felt like following it any further would probably run me in circles as they are hiding behind www.hideyouripaddress.net so getting the usual whois info would take a lot of time. I now know enough about them, along with all of the previous poster's info, to feel confident that they are running some kind of scam or phishing expidition.
