Just received a fax from Canadian Equity Partners, aka Mont Blanc Mergers Associates. They have a U.S. based Private Equity Company interested in purchasing our business! Wow! Unfortunately a wealthy Nigerian businessman has promised to wire $60,000,000.00 US dollors into our bank account this very week! With that kind of money coming our way why even bother to sell the business. Oops got to run, just got a fax telling me I'v won the Irish Lottery, my good luck just won't quit!

I received the same letter but in the name of CANADIAN EQUITY PARTNERS. Thank goodness for the internet as I quickly discovered that there is in fact no such firm. The fax address of the sender was...you guessed it...Mont Blanc Mergers Associates.

Any serious company buyer WOULD NOT SEND A OPEN FAX that all the employees could read before management even sees it. Nice way to upset the workers!!!!

These people are just wasting the paper in my fax machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got the same Canadian Equity Partners fax that seemed very similar I got from Wall Street Investments back in the spring. Headquartered in Pompano Beach Fla, Ho Ho Ho

Just ask them to send an NDA and you will never hear from them again.

I get the same letter as everybody else from Canadian Equity partners. also interested to buy my US trade company. they introduct them selves as a $310 million USD are eager to by my USA Division.

If it sounds to good to be true it probably isn't!!!!!  Jonathan Walton was my guys name good night john boy good night mary ellen!!!!!!

All phone scamsters should hang upside down on a public place.

I've been receiving the same fax but mines is addressed to Alicia Brown all the time and it comes from R. J. Rios, Vice President.

We got a fax from Canadian Equity Partners this morning (Mont Blanc Mergers Associates)

Phone number: 613.236.4790 and his name: Jonathan Walton.

Same thing.

I got a fax from Jonathan Walton, Canadian Equity Partners.

The last sentence was: " Harald, haven't heard from you yet." Right!

So, watch out! It's a real scam.

Guess it is our turn.
Now they are "interested in opening up negotiations to purchse all or part of our City"

Well Some days you just gotta have fun.  I call ed outside of bankers hours, (The hours I actually work), got the leave a message routine as I expected, and left them the Phone number for the RCMP in Ottawa.

Keep getting faxes from them. The contact on our sheets is not a Burt, but rather "Thomas Johnson, Senior Vice-President." Knew this was a scam from the start. We reported the number to donotcall.gov, but they sent ANOTHER fax, this one beginning with "Dear ____, I am so sorry to be writing you again, but the buyer who has an interest in buying your company is very persistent in asking us to set up a conference call with our company and [yours]."

Got two faxes as well from this Jonathan Walton for Canadian Equity Partners. One on 07/19/2010 and the other one on 07/26/2010 (with the same mention, "Still haven't heard from you yet"). I just decided to look it up on Google and I ended on this web site. Thanks to those of you who did take time to report this scam.

I wont dream of an easy transaction anymore...

Have received a few from both Mont Blanc Equity & Canadian Equity Partners. The one I received this morning was signed by Thomas Johnson who is "sorry to be writing again".  I finally Googled the name and came to this site.  Hope he isn't losing any sleep over my non-response.

I was thrilled to get the Canadian Equity Partners letter from the Mont Blanc Mergers fax machine indicating Thomas Johnson was "sorry to be writing you again."  Could I really sell what's left of a real estate brokerage in 2010 for big money?  Or is this the buyer that wants change back from his counterfeit earnest money check?  
No...maybe I'm confused,  I think that fellow was buying used cars on Craig's List with phony cashier's checks...

One of my clients had a similar fax/call.  While there are many scam sin this world we can bring ligitimate, qualified potential buyers to the table for your business.  Feel free to contact me if you have a real motivation to sell and a reasonable expectation of price, thats what legit buyers are looking for as well.  But without a good advisor you can still leave a lot on the table.  704-307-4166 Alan.

Well, those guys are back. This time the name is Harvey Marcus.  I figured it ought to be scam as no one, in this time and age, would send a fax without a prior call.  A fax!  At least an email describing their company with a real website!  Their fax number calls for Mont Blanc Mergers Associates while their letter head states they are called US Equity inc. Their www.usequityco.com site is unplugged.  Crooks are everywhere around the world.  Thanks to this site.
