- caliI received a call this morning but I din't answer so I googled the number and saw all the comments so will not be answering if the number calls back.
- tazI just got a call from this number, thanks for posting all the information you guys have !! very helpful!! I keep getting calls from this number as well 1-866-539-4654, they never leave a message and they even call after 9pm.
- kgI applied for construction jobs using Yahoo jobs that was a linked to my local newspaper's web site. I knew something was fishy about this one before I even finished sending the application. They had a couple different questions that kept trying to redirect you to get information about taking online courses. It had several "institutions" to choose from, but the only one I recognized / remember is University of Phoenix. Sure enough within a few days of completing the app, I got a phone call from this number and woman told me that they received my information that expressed my interest in furthering my education. I told her I was only trying to fill out a job application and I am already enrolled in school full time. She quickly and politely got off the phone with me. I just got a call from them again (one week later) and didn't answer. Now that I've seen this web site I've decided that if they call again (I'm assuming they won't have a job offer) I will tell them that if they continue to call me I will report them as harrassing me. If anyone really wants to take internet classes, they can find information about enrolling easily enough without the "help" of some middleman who found a way to get a cut of someone's college fund.
- donnie replies to gah!| 3 repliesI was excited to get a call about employment. the recording said I needed to be near my computer for a phone interview, I was not. Luckily I did a search to find the company and stumbled on this. Back to looking for a job.
- cool_fredi just received a phone call from this number at 10:50am. i've applied to alot of jobs locally. when the number came up on my caller id on the cell phone i didn't trust it so i didn't answer it. lucky for me when i applied for the job on craigslist the guy emailed me and asked for me to apply online. i did and just as many others here have stated it asked for my cell provider which i thought was weird but figured maybe it was a cell phone company hiring so like a dumbass i put it on there. i hit next and it fronted me to a online scholarship college application. i immediately quit thinking no harm no foul. well guess not. but the advantage i have is i still had dudes email address so i just got through emailing him asking for the company name that he represents. and telling him that i believe it's a scam and would like to recall my resume and all other information i have given him. it pisses me off that in this economic time we are desperate for employment and people are taking advantage of us in our weakest most desperate states.
- DevinRcvd a call from this number. They did not leave a message and my return call rolled straight to a disconnection.
- KimboI got a call from this number today also. I certainly hope "they" get repaid for preying on people desperate to find employment. Shame on them!!!!
- jobseekergot a call from this # on 2-23-2009 at 1:05 pm. I answered my cell and there was no one there. I too, have been applying for jobs a lot. some have been from craigslist, careerbuilder, careersource, etc. I can see I am not alone from dealing with all the bull that comes with searching for a real job.
- cmigs203Like others who made posts, I recieved a call from 1-646-520-0697 on Saturday afternoon. I answered and was put on hold for about 15 minutes or so, only waiting because the recording said it had to do with a job. The woman I spoke with asked if I was in front of a computer, but I was not, and she said I could call the number to verify information M-F 9am-5pm. I thought it was unusual that they would call on a Saturday but I can only call back M-F, from 9-5 none the less. I tried to call back today and recieved a busy tone. This is absurd. In today's job market, people should not be subjected to false hopes. I hope this is fixed for everyone's sake who recieved a similar call.
- bvI received a call from 1-646-520-0697 today at 9:35 a.m. Since it was not a local area code I did not answer. I figured if it was for a job, they would leave a message...no message left. I learned through my job search that if the call was not a local number, I would check the number first to see if it was valid. Evidently this number is not valid and is a 'scam' from everything others have written. I really appreciate this site being available to check things like this, but it is a shame that jobseekers must put up with this stuff.
- BaryonI got a call from these guys 15 minutes ago (9.15) and didn't pick up. They left no message and when I looked up the area code and found. It was NY, I considered for a moment that it could be a grad school that I'd applied to but was suspicious once there was no message. I've been applying for jobs too but none in that area. Thankfully I found this site. Thanks all for the info. Hope these scammers go down.
- RichieRecieved a caal today, Iwas walking the Dog. Called back number was inop? Its a bull [***] call. oops maybe dog -shuit????????????

- Wendy replies to KevinKevin - I'm with you. I'm also looking for a job and its very disheartening to find out so many "job ads" (a LOT of them found on Craigslist) are "work from home" scams! I too, was inundated with spam/scam emails - all with very intriguing subjects lines - getting my hopes up that I had actually found a lead on a job. Fortunately, for other reasons, I'm screening my phone calls and did not pick up on this New York number when it came in.
Thank you all for posting so much about this number.
Hang in there one and all - good jobs ARE out there - good luck! - WAT replies to JBD| 5 repliesJBD - perhaps you're with the folks making these calls. It's not right to prey on folks who need REAL jobs ... especially in this economy.
- Vanessa replies to WAT| 4 repliesI have a real job but am looking for a better job that include benefits. I have had a number of calls from "scam artists" the world is full of them, It's just sad that innocent people end up paying for the results of these scams.
