For me, it was Google Maps calling to verify a change of address for my business listing.

They called asking if this is "my company name" and then proceeded to ask what is my address when I asked who is calling he gave me a realtor office that we actually work with from time to time. Then when I told him ok you want to verify, then what address do you have.. he repeated that he just needed to verify address, and then I asked what is your number so I can call you back he said there is no number to call him back. After going through that and him not giving up more information than that,  I told him thank you and hung up. He had an Indian accent, however I was able to understand his English. If it is Google Maps why lie about who you are calling on behalf of....hi, this is so so from google maps, we need to verify your address, and then I can have him verify my account number then to make sure this is none other than who they say they are. weird!

They called and it was Google Maps as I was expecting their call anyway and as I was answering his question he either hung up on me or we got disconnected. This is not good as I will not get my places listed in Google Maps if he doesn't get a yes from me.

So pretty much this person called me. I was asleep so i didn't pick up. They left me a message. All it was was some creep breathing into the phone for like 30 seconds and then they hung up. It was really weird and creepy. I think that who ever has this phone is just some weird creeper. I would not talk to them if I were you. They are pry some fake people or something.

Received a call from this number today.  The man on the phone had very bad english and asked if I could help him with my website.  I told him I was not interested in helping him and hung up.  I immediatly received another phone call from "UNKNOWN CALLER" and didn't answer and they didn't leave a message, and then immediately got another call from 650-253-2000, didn't answer again, and they didn't leave a message.  This is definitely someone up to no good.

This actually IS Google. They've said so themselves. They were using Indians and no one could understand, so now they are starting to use in-house employees. P.S. This number is in Mountain View, CA. Do you know where Google is located?

This phone number has called me 3x this a.m.  and has not left a message at all.  Sounds super fishy up-to-know-good b.s.

    Solution Maids
Received call from this number...I answered "hello"  Gentleman asked "Is this Solution Maids"  I answered "Yes, How may I help you"  He replied "I am sorry, I dialed the wrong number" and hung up...

Now lets think about this logically, if this really is Google Maps, why would he ask if this was the business and then tell me he dialed the wrong number...

Very unprofessional if this really is Google and I just have a hard time accepting such behavior.

In the current inundation of "junk" calls, it's easy to be suspicious. But, in this case, it's legit.  Just Google Maps calling to verify or correct location information.  Usually prompted by a change in "street view" mapping procedures or a correction having been entered to your listing.

This number is used to confirm listings on Google Places and Google Maps. If you do not give the answers they are looking for, your listing on Google Places or Google Maps will be deleted. They will ask you if this is a "storefront" or actual business address and then ask you to provide the names of surrounding businesses.

I got A call, he asked what our address was so he can come in, We are service technicians and WE go to the CUSTOMER. I told hime and he hug up. Caller ID said it was GOOGLE Inc. Very Unprofessional. Next time they call, I am going to blow a whistle int the phone, and hopefully they will learn what its like to be treated unprofessionally over the phone. I encourage you all to do the same.

I just received a call from this number. My caller ID said Google, however the person on the other line was clearly from a call center from another country. They did not identify themselves and when I asked what this was regarding, the person on the line said that they were looking for directions to our office because they were on their way to a meeting.

When I asked whom (in our office) I should inform that they were going to be late for the "meeting", the person said that their "friend" had that information and hung up. There were no meetings scheduled with any of our employees today....If this was Google, why not tell your vendors to ID themselves as Google instead of making them lie and makeup fake stories!?!? This just seems like a negative business practice and a bit deceiving. If the  reason for the call was legitimately to verify our Google Listing, then why not come out and say it????

I just received a call from this number. I had a really hard time understanding the person on the other side due to the fact that they had a very strong (out of the country) accent and there was a bad connection I guess. The best I could understand is that they were looking for Uhaul (we are a small Uhaul dealer out of a furniture store) and they were looking for the address of the Uhaul in Flagstaff. I couldn't even understand where she said she was calling from either.

I just received a call from this number.  The female asked if this was XYZ Company, at this address, and is this the website address.  She never said who she was calling with.  Whatever happened to common phone etiquette?..."Hi, this is Sue, and I'm calling from Google, and we need to verify your information for your listing with us."  How hard is that?

Never identified themselves, but saw on caller ID that it was Google.  Asked what the address of my business was, told them there was no store-front, only website, they repeated what I said, I confirmed and they hung up.  Very unprofessional for Google!
