My business cell phone has a call block app. I started receiving a call from this number yesterday. After searching and finding what everyone here had to say about them, I blocked the number. Problem solved.

Got two today from this number.  Didn't answer the first, did the second.  Said he was Google Maps. Asked if address and business name was correct.  Said thank you and hung up.

I got a call from this number at 7 AM, but i didn't answer.

Just because the phone number displayed on caller ID belongs to Google, doesn't meant that the person calling is from Google. Caller ID can easily be spoofed, and is all the time.  From what I have read, I just don't think Google would operate like this...If I was a shady company in India that was collecting business info for marketing lists, I would spoof this actual Google number too. That's my 2 cents.

They call claim to be from Google Maps and said he has a note wants to confirm if we are closed. Told them they are scammers and we hung up on them.  Caller ID:  shows as Google, Inc.

I just got a message over 2 mins long from them and it was only gunfire like someone pocket dialed at a range.

IMPORTANT -- Ask the person to verify your Google Account Number.

If anyone calls claiming to be Google and this happens a lot, ask them to verify your account number when you log in to your Google account it shows you a Google account number. Do not give them your number ask them to tell you your account number, if it's a Google rep they will have it since they have to "verify" your account. When they realize you aren't going to fall for their crap they will hang up on you and you will be saved from hundreds of sales calls.

The woman who phones asked if I was part of a company at a certain address- and if I I had a website--then she asked if I was part of another company.  This woman also spoke with limited English--she hung up when I didn't offer any information.

I called them back and the "the number in use is not for inbound calls..."  What's the point of having a phone number.  If it was important, they would have left brief message.

A man claiming he works for GOOGLE called me this morning asking me to give him my physical address. My answer was you go straight to hell you stupid Indian. This is a big SCAM people. Report this fool to the Feds.

As soon as I heard the heavy Indian accent, I naturally replied, and carried out the brief conversation in my pretty good fake Indian accent.

The gentleman either did not find it odd, or ignored it and continued speaking with me.

It provided a quick amusing break from the daily grind.

(I did not actually offer any worthwhile info about our business or location.)

I just had call from that nr. Person what i spoke to hardly spoke English she ask about my business and address , and when i start asking her questions she hang up.  I don't know what to think about it..... Please help

This number has called me several times and I finally answered it and the guy on the other end tried to get information from me about my physical address which I didn't give him.  He claimed he was with Google and was calling about an incomplete street address on my Google Maps listing.  I called him out on it and he hung up the phone.

I work switchboard for a local company and they have called several times to "verify" info. The last time they called I hung up on them.  :)

This is the way google operate. You are not a client for them, it's a free service they offer you. So they treat you like sh.....
This number come from mountain view CA where google headquarter is located.

Got a call from this number at 3:44 in the morning.  No message left.  I don't care if it's Google Maps or Osama Bin Laden.  Don't be calling my damn house at 3:44 in the morning!!!

Got a call from them yesterday and today but they never left a message the first time and hung up before I could answer the second time.

i got a call guess what i did told him that the person he had reached just got shot and that now your our first suspect in a murder case i think the guy literally sh@t himself. i asked him questions if he ever knew the guy what he was doing calling him what they talked about was he your gay friend what kind of things did you do together what his name was where he lived everything so funny hahahaahha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he will never call my number again.

Received a phone call from this number from a man who had a very thick accent. He asked if we were located at a given address, I stated we no are located there. He then asked if we were at another address (which was our new address) and I stated yes. He hung up before I could ask him anything.

You are right.  I did call the number and sure enough it was google.  Thank you for curing my paranoia.
