Calls daily and never leaves a message.  If this is truly the American Cancer Society this is a very poor way to solicit money.

I just called the 866 number mentioned on this site. they did say they would remove my number from their list. They had all of my information, including address, by pulling up my phone number. It takes 30 days to be removed from  the list. thanks to the person that found out the 866 "human voice" number.

Frequent calls, no messages. Quite annoying those guys. How does that help the cancer ridden people? Shame on them. Will call to get off their cold call list.

Thanks so much for this site and to the person to found the "human voice" number.  Just called 866-435-7227 and had my number removed from their call list.  The representative was very courteous and apologetic.  It does take up to 30 days to be removed from their list.

Had gotten calls from this number a couple of months ago and then they stopped. They have again started up. I read the input from the telefundraiser with the American Cancer Society that is below, which is where these calls from this number are apparently originating. Don't they get that these calls are irritaing people and they are losing credibility! Seems like they would change their techniques. When I am here to answer, they hang up so how many calls are actually real calls that they are making. I assume it is an automated dialer and they don't have the staff to pick up the call when it is placed. They need to change the criteria for their dial-out programs.

They continue to call me several times a day since last year! My phone number was listed on National Do NOT Call and also for the state.  However, they still tried to continue to call me.  I ignored this. Caller ID: Georgia Call, Caller: 678-846-0507.

This number has appeared on my ID several times a day for the past week, including Sundays...(don't these people ever take a day off?) and from before 9 a.m. until almost 9 p/m. They never leave a message, and when I pick up, no one answers. The last two times I have told them to stop calling and remove my number from their list.

I have collected for the Cancer Society every campaign for many years. If they left me a message I would call back and agree to do it again this fall, but I'm rethinking being involved with them again. There has to be a better way to solicit volunteers than to annoy them.

You can still get phone calls EVEN IF on the DO NOT CALL list, if you have dealt with a COMPANY or a subsidary of it in past...I read that someone gave to American Cancer Society yet got a call while being on Do not call list??

thats why you still received the Solicit Phone Call...I live In Oregon, and Georgia is the 3rd state that has called me in last 4 months...Glad this forum exists for people who know to GOOGLE the number on their caller Id...

Oh..and a trick I have learned to use when you are able to talk to a person or leave a message?? Remind the PAIN IN [***] how much the fine is PER INCIDENT. Since I joined the do not call list when it started, and used "line" to 6 diffeerent companies. They never called back ;)

Got this annoying call almost every day during day and evening recently.  No message is left at all.

We just started getting calls from this number last week. I called the number given above to get my name off the list, and yes, I know it takes a while to get things processed, but I'm still getting called, and I'm quite annoyed.

So, every time they call now I'm logging it with www.donotcall.gov  I figure if the gov gets enough complaints, they'll do something about it. EVERYONE SHOULD LOG A COMPLAINT with donotcall.gov

This has been going on for way too long (for too many people) for it to be excused any more!

We are registered on the do not call list and I have private number with call block and they still call 2 to 3 times daily! 678-846-0507
and the other number that calls daily is 503-412-3352 and I told this company to never call back and to take this number off the call list and still, we receive
2 to 3 calls daily!

Annoying/obnoxious. Answer machine on, no message left. I get 5-6 B/S calls a day for solicitation, not just from this number only. I'm really tired of this crap.
GOD BLESS ANSWER MACHINES & 'CALLER ID'. I am a cancer survivor and don't need to be reminded of this medical problem either. They can send me $$$ if that makes them show their existence....

no ID except number from GA

I get at least three calls daily from 678-846-0507 and they don't leave a message.  I don't pick up if I don't recognize the number.
I googled the number and found this web site and postings by others - some listed a toll free number (866-435-7227) which I called.  The toll free number is to the American Cancer Society, and the rep. told me that they are recruiting for "Notes to Neighbors" program.  I told her that I have no problem with the ACS, but their marketing company doing this needs to be fired.  She said they are flooded with complaints daily and they pass them to higher-ups.  She removed my phone number from their list, but said it may take up to 30 days before it fully takes effect.

Caller called and disconnected when answered

This number shows up on my caller ID. When I answer the line goes dead. this has happened several times this week. This is really annoying and has convinced me not to contribute to the ACS.

pick up unless I know who is caling.  Several calls today.  Never leave
a message!

Several times a day all HOURS of the day up until 9:00pm PST.  Never leaves a message. Caller ID shows "out of area" which we never answer.  This is getting ridiculous with this group.  Called the number to be taken off their list and got a response saying that they would now BE CALLING us again in the next few days.  
Enough already!!
