no message left, they have called repeatedly. caller ID just shows Georgia.  glad I found this site and that I'm not the only one!!!  I just left a message at 866 # of DO NOT CALL!

Calls received 15 March 9:42 AM, 29 March 3:30 PM, 30 March 10:18 AM.  I did not take the call and the caller did not leave a message.  Thanks for the information you've provided on this caller.

The do not call US Call Register list is a bunch of "HOOEY"!! If you want to spend some serious $$ to terminate this crap, check this  out.

We have received calls from this number for several months now. Thank you to this list...I just called the number and pressed 1. After listening to the automated message you are able to enter your number to be removed within 30 days. Hopefully it will work.

annoying call, nobody on the other end

So glad I found this site and that I'm not alone.  I too have been annoyed with calls from this number daily at noontime for the past week. Perhaps this is the ACS way of getting back at me because I would not distribute materials for them on my block. They never leave a message and only the phone number shows up on caller-id. (I'm in Texas)

Numerous calls received from this number 678-846-0507 and I would appreciate it if something could be done to remove my number (210-979-0767)from their data base.

Yes, it is the American Cancer Society "Notes to Neighbors" program. Call the 866-435-7227 number and report that you want to be taken off the list. It may take 30 days (or so they say) but they were polite enough to be responsive to my complaint. It's worth the simple phone call. Thank you, Larry, for the number to call.

Got a call at 3:21 PM PST on April 6, I did not pick up, no message left. This is not the first call from them.

They call at unreasonable hours, 730-800am. No one is ever on the phone when I answer. They call multiple times per day.

These people called my house too. I am having a trace put on the number and company since I work for law enforcement. I will let everyone know what I find out. They are in violation of the do not call list in my case if nothing else.

For a year or more, the phone would ring and when my mother answered there was no one at the other end.  The number was 1-678-0507.  My mother was recovering from the chemo in her third battle with cancer, so we had to keep a phone at her bedside for emergencies.  She did not have the luxury to turn off the phone.  The "1-678-0507" would call sometimes twice a day.  Just as she would finally get to sleep that same number would call again.  I and my sister did not have a chance to track down the caller, as we were caring for both of our parents at the time.  After my mother passed away, the calls continued.  Thanks to this site I found the source.  Yes, the American Cancer Society harrassed my mother as she dealt with her own cancer.  The comments of the employee posting on this site (Feb 2007) ring hollow.  There was never an apology from the organization and they continue their inhuman tactics.  Rather than market the organization on this site, taking the time to tell us how successful their fund raising has been, perhaps the employee should have had her supervisors offer a heart felt apology to us all. I would recommend that we not support organizations that use such devices.  Do not support the American Cancer Society.

Well, Jay, you've certainly made a very vivid point. That point being that you need anger management classes, and a lesson in tolerance. I'm a telefundraiser, and have had about a year's experience between different companies. I've found that most telephone fundraisers (especially American Cancer Society, where I currently work, in Lansing, we don't have a teleservice center in Georgia, so those people are fakes) are genuinely nice people just trying to make a living, and every phoner I've heard has been very polite on the phone, regardless of whether or not there's someone like you on the other end of the line. We would get fired if we were 1/16th as vulgar as you and some of the people on the phone are.
It's a hard job, mostly worked by people who, at least in ACS case, generally believe in the cause, and if you ask to be taken off the list, we'll be nice about it.
You don't have to hate an entire profession, especially the non-profits who are doing it because they believe in the cause. My grandpa died of lung cancer, and the american cancer society helped him out.
The do not call list is not a joke as long as you tell us to take you off the list, preferably without calling us anything that needs to be censored. Really, it'll only take a minute of your life, and might make you feel like a better person.

Thank you for providing that number. I got a human being who said he would expedite my request to have my phone number removed from the call list. We too were getting several calls a night, up to 9:00 pm. Was told today that our number would be removed in 48 hours,"although it usually takes up to 30 days". I was ready to sue to stop the harassing calls.
