The National Rifle Association (NRA) does not have my number.  I never gave it to them.  This in NOT the NRA I'm affiliated with!

This number may or may not be the National Rifle Association, but to claim they don't solicit in this way is insane.  When I joined I got a call within a month asking me to renew...then constant letters in the mail (that no DOUBT were truly the National Rifle Association) asking me to renew when I had just joined.  I mentioned this to my uncle who was a long time NRA member and he said they do the same thing to him and he just tells them every time that he will renew when it is time to renew.  It is cool to want to defend those guys, but let's be real about the fact that they telemarket the crap out of people too.

This is definitely the National Rifle Association.  I answered the call, they identified themselves as such.  I am a member, but informed them that I will renew when it is time, and to please remove me from their call list..  which I am very skeptical will happen as they are very persistent.

I don't know anyone in Virginia.  

They called. No message. They are BLOCKED now.

I am tired of getting a call from 1 703 988 6387. I am in the Do Not Call list and still get the crap! This time they just hung up.

Was receiving calls from 7039886387 and read the list here. Called them back and confirmed that it was NRA. Then went to the NRA website and left this message. Message: The NRA is starting to upset many people. Not through its policies but through a particular phone number that calls and then hangs up Do a Google search for 7039886387 and look at the comments. Don't know who is doing this but it is a good way to loose members. I have the number blocked on my phone. Our membership is critical and we need the members, why use a telemarketer to make people mad?
They acknowledged that they were using a telemarketer, but they also indicated that they have an internal 'Do Not Call' list and placed my number on it. Looks like it worked as I haven't gotten any calls from them. So if you are an NRA member, send them a nastygram and they will put you on their Do Not Call list.

This is NOT the Nation rifle association. I know this because they called on their own number ( it said it was them ) at a different time...and actually left a message. This is the National recover agency. Once again they are making threats over some debt that my mother owed them, even though she is dead they are trying to convince me I am responsible.

For everyone's information:  National Rifle Association does not use a "703" area code phone numbers. Their full list of numbers are: 877-672-3006, 877-672-2000, 866-672-8472, 888-607-6007, 800-392-8683. Those people telling people on the phone they are the NRA - National Recovery Association :::: That is a debt collection agency and they have nothing to do at all with our Rifle Association.

Sorry.  I've been an NRA member for years, but unfortunately, they do use this method to solicit for members and donations.  I believe these numbers are from a service with which  they have contracted to solicit for them.  It is possible that the other organization, National Recovery assoc may also contract with them.  But, when I called the number back, there is no doubt it was the National Rifle Assoc of which I am a proud member.

I am a lifetime member of the NRA so they don't call me, its great!!!!

Just called this number back and got a recording that said "Thank you for calling the National Rifle Association"

I just received a call from "Urgent Alert" 703-988-6387. Of course I answered it thinking someone in my family has been in an accident or maybe it was my credit card co. wanting to warm me of suspicious activity on my card. It was in fact the NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION. I am all for owning a gun to protect yourself, but this was ridiculous. I hung up on the man because I was angry about being led to believe something was wrong.

Just called it...The answering machine clearly identifies itself as "The National Rifle Association"

got a call this morning returned as you all said this is the National Rifle Association. My beef with the call was the time 8:30AM my time.

Yes they do.  I called the NRA directly and they do give your number out to 3rd party companies that call and try to raise money.  If you call them and tell them to have your number removed they will take it off the calling list.  Calls have since stopped coming in to my phone.

I'm a proud member of the NRA. Do they constantly solicit for funds to fight for our 2nd amendment rights? Absolutely! Is it annoying as hell? Absolutely but I don't care because we've lost so much in so many states every time some nut case gets a weapon and causes a tragedy, every responsible legal gun owner is thrown under the bus along with him and the NRA is one of our best defenders of our rights. I've been getting this call for weeks and today I blocked it on my phone. Done. I give them what I can when I can and when I want to.
