I don't know what number people call that say answering machine says NRA - when I called, they answered "National Rifle Association"! They're getting to be a real pain in the neck and elsewhere! I'm canceling my membership.

Sometimes it is "Urgent Alert", sometimes "800 service", sometimes "NRA".

I have asked them, directly, when I see "NRA" in caller ID, who they are; they always identify themselves as the National Rifle Association, and they always ask for the only person in our household who is a member of the NRA; I presume they get the number from the subscriber info.

I have mentioned to them that the NRA says it does not make telephone solicitations, and they are always polite about it, and they let the call go peacefully.

Definitely not bill collector tactics.

But they do keep ringing in from so many different numbers that it is impossible to block them.

I am not saying, however, that the National Recovery Agency does not use the NRA acronym to provoke an answer; I do believe that these bottom-feeders will do anything they can to get an answer, but I have found a very easy, and fun, way to deal with debt collectors, no matter who they are calling for.

The message upon calling back says National Rifle Association.  Not NRA, or National Recovery Agency.  It is National Rifle Association!

Same thing here, "URGENT ALERT", turns out it's the NRA.
It's tuesday right now, I have gotten 4 calls from the NRA in 2 days and average about 15 calls a month from them, even though I have told them OVER AND OVER that I am not giving them any more money.

Yes, its the NRA.  I am a lifetime member and I still get these calls.  They have called from this number once a day for the past 4 days.  I added the number to my block list.

I have asked them to take me off their calling list and continue to call

You are wrong. I callled the nra members # they told me it. Is. Them and they do this often if you don't believe. Me call the nra yourself. If you are a member call the # on the back of your card..

I called the number back. The recording says "Thank you for calling the National Rifle Association. We are sorry we missed you.... " yada yada...

I don't know if it was a membership solicitation or whatever. But there was no message on the answering machine so it is now blocked.

This IS the National Rifle Association, a great organization for the freedom of our Country. Join them, support them, it is the best thing you can do to protect the Constitution, Bill Of Rights and  civil liberties of all Americans.

Funny thing is the recording says by law it could take up to 30 days! Ughh really I get theses calls a couple times a day! Enough is enough! I told my husband never give a donation to them again!!!!!!!

After seeing the discourses on the National Recovery vs National Rifle Assoc... I hit callback and it clearly says Thankyou for calling the National Rifle Association.... there are some Brain Dead Dudes in here.
