- annoyedReceived a call from this number today (Saturday). This is about the 20th time I've received a call from this number (sometimes after 9:00pm). They were looking for my husband's cousin's husband, whom we haven't seen or talked to in years. Operator told me that the the person they were looking for had given our number as somewhere to reach him. Pretty suspect, seeing as we've only had this number for a few years and never gave it to the person in question. I told them to stop calling, that this person had never lived here and never would, cussed at him for a bit for disturbing my Saturday, then hung up. Getting really tired of this crap.

- going crazyThese people have been calling non-stop. I have reported them to CA Attorney General's office and I suggest you do too.
I do not carry credit card debt and I have run my credit and nothing has come up. I was at first concerned that I was a victim of identity theft, but now I think that these people just want me to send them money to stop harrassing me, which I won't.
My next idea is to call the police department and tell them I am being harassed and make a complaint. Maybe if enough people do that the police will get tired of hearing from us. The police in the area is Santa Ana, CA Santa Ana Police (714) 245-8665.

- *poof* go away!!DAN DURBIN is a complete MORON!!!! He called me at work a few weeks ago, for the umpteenth time. After telling my boss that he was going to serve me papers and that the cops were on their way, he left a number and extension which I promptly called back. He never said WHAT company he was collecting for and was really nice at first but when I started telling him the LAW and what he was supposed to do..quit calling me at work, and send me proof of debt, he got NASTY!!! Told me that I had been hiding out for over 2 yrs and that he was going to get his $3500 because he was in the business of making money....I have never owed any collector that much!!
A few hrs later, another co worker gave me a message from a diff # to call back...not an 800 # that is REQUIRED by law, and when I did and spoke to PAUL who would not tell me his company, I was then transferred back to DAN!!!! He was like, why are you calling me? You already told me to sue you! I informed him that his office called me back...in violation of the FDC act and that he had to send me validity of debt. He threatened me saying that he knew where I lived and worked and had talked to my HR about garnishing my wages!!!! You must note everything this [***] does!!! ALL numbers and peoples' names!! I have filed a complaint with my sheriff's office and the NC attorney general!!! SCUM!!!!- Caller: World Wide Recovery

- confusedYes. I have been receiving messages from this phone number and today Don left a message regarding an investigation. Claiming they sent me information back in January to reply by end of February. I have no idea what this is for, and thankfully I decided to research to find out who the company was and all the problems they are causing people.

- STRAIGHT UP BOGUSI have been subjected to these calls also. I have never taken any of them or talked to anyone. They even went as far as calling and bothered my landlord. I was embarrassed. But after thinking about it. I realized this was bogus because I don't owe such bills that would warrent this much effort from this far away. I normally don't bother to answer unknown calls or long distance numbers. Because they are usually telemarketers don't want't to be rude because sometimes they will take you there and don't want to waste their time or mines. I am a single mother working two jobs. I pay the neccessay. I have little left for anything else. Older people have said you can't get blood out of a turnip if there is none. Think about it. See you in court.

- Donna HughesThis number keeps calling my house and harrassing me looking for someone else. The person, which I want even call a man because he was very disrespectful and I told him to quit calling me and then I hung up on him and he called me back and I told him again take my number off of his list and do not call me again. There should be a law that these kind of people, (bulliles rather) when you tell them not to be calling you because you are not that person.

- MaryK replies to tennislvr| 1 replyI also received a booklet from Cho-Wa. The return address was from Signal Hill, CA and the phone number listed was the same except the EXT was 203. I remember back a few years ago receiving the exact same booklet so guess this scam has been around for several years....too bad, I was looking forward to feeling better! Guess I'll put my credit card away and save it for the next scammer that comes along....NOT!

- SamMOst of you need to read the information on the website below....know your rights...especially if you are dealing with harassing phone calls from World Wide Recovery, for a relative or an adult child. Debts are their problems, not yours...Don't take this lying down...When they call again, just remind them to read the FTC regulations on debt collections, then hang up in their ear. Also, remind them never to call again or they will be reported to the FTC.

- John T replies to SLHB| 2 repliesI got a call from this number today, and am currently filing a complaint both with the Federal Trade Commission and my state's attorney general, for violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). In several phone calls, the caller did not identify his or herself or the company they were calling from, asked me for personal information without disclosing that the communication was an attempt to collect a debt and any information gained would be used for that purpose, and were verbally abusive and derisive regarding my "lack of morals to want to pay my debts"
- VinnieJust got a call from this outfit. They threatened me if I didn't call back in 24 hrs. I'm turning them int the FTC. Hope they all go to jail.
- vinnieThe idiots are stupid enough to leave messages on my cellphone, which I am saving for the FTC!
- vinnieHow can anyone be a debt collector, especially a scam one? How can they sleep at night? You all should be in jail you scumbags. You are reported to the FTC. Get a real job before you go to jail!

- JoeThis outfit is a limp noodle. They can't do anything except threaten and bluff since all the debts they buy are beyond the statute of limitations. They cannot sue. They cannot get a judgement. All they doo is husff and puff and harass. Do not fall for their bluffs. Tell them not to call you anymore and hand up.
- LauraA rude man from that number called. I explained that my dad is in the last few hours of his life, he has end stage lung cancer and I couldn't talk as I need to be with my dad. He muttered something about a subpoena and I hung up. Karma's gonna get him.........
