Just got a call from this number on my landline at 6:38 on a Saturday evening. Don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, so I came to 800Notes and blocked the number on my phone just as soon as it stopped ringing. Hate these scammers!

What gets me is ... why do people answer these calls? And why on earth do they call the number back? Doesn't that just encourage these scammers to keep calling knowing they have a live number? Just don't get it.

SCAM.  SPAM.  Called me at 619pm on Sept 1, 2015.  I'm in the 317 area code.  Same scam as others have reported.  he's from "Windows" (technical support) and they've detected an issue with my computer.  Wants me to turn it on and etc etc.  I had a lot of fun with him by asking him lots of questions and making fun of him for saying he's from Windows and not Microsoft.  What a tool.

called here too. left no message caller id said buffalo ny. i will now know that this is a scam and give them hell  when they call. may also give them the scammer credit card number and not even get on line. ha ha.

when i picked up the phone there was nothing but dead air on the other end. i too have caller id and when i called back the number there was not a ring tone.

How do we stop these people???

I've not received a call from these crooks in a while, but the number just showed up on my caller ID...

Just got a call from "Microsoft Center" saying that they received information that my computer was infected.  He spoke with an Asian accent.   He wanted to take control of my computer so that he could remove the problems (117 of them) .
He got very aggressive----insisting I must do this right now.   When I again refused to give him control, he said "You can go to hell!" and hung up.

I did not check the C I D before I picked up the phone, It was a female with the other side of the globe accent
She ask me if I was at my computer. I told her I was cleaning my AK-47 and did she know what that was? Well,
I hung the phone up. Most likely some one trying to hack into our computer. I think they generate phone numbers
and call whoever will answer

Person said they were from Microsoft Technical Support.

the same here just now and I said I don't have window ...

that's right these bozo are trying to scam everyone in the States to who might falling for their scam....they call my Dad number in Houston, and I happened to be there and pick up the phone, and I told then we don't have window pc and his hung up. These kind of scam can only get to old people  whom can not tell their accent.

I got a call from a number from Buffalo NY.  A guy from India tried to tell me he is from WIndows.  When I told him he we don't have a windows computer and he was going to be reported to windows for attempting to scam me.  I read him the information from Microsoft about scams and reported him while he was on the phone.  He began to tell me I was being rude.  He then began to meow at me, laugh at me, and tell me "I love you".  When I asked his name and company he said his name is Steve Jobs.  When I reminded him that Jobs died several years ago, he changed his name to Bill Gates.  He also said he was "the big boss".  I just put the phone down until he hung up.  The longer I keep this idiot in the phone, the less people he can scam.

This number is still calling me. The latest call was today, Saturday 9/05/15 @ 4:23 PM EDT. No message was left on my machine.

Received a call from someone major foreign accent stating they calling from Windows Service and asked if I used the internet because my computer acquired a virus. Twice I stated I could barely understand what they were saying and that I am sure computers anti virus software would protect me before hanging up. It's a scam and I hope people don't do what they ask.

Man called said he was from window and receiving warnings from my computer. I asked him if he worked for Microsoft. He said he worked for windows. Now when was the last time you needed help from Microsoft and didn't get charged for it? He did have a foreign accent from India or Pakistan possibly. I asked him which computer as I have 7 or 8 of them. He insisted all I had to do was logon and he could tell me which one. I said I was watching TV and was not going to logon. At that point he committed a felony insisting he was going to have me arrested. Which is making terroristic threats. I told him is was in law enforcement he said he wasn't afraid he could not be traced. What he doesn't know is he can be traced LOL. If I was him and his band of cohorts I would cancel this line as he will hear from me soon. Since my friends at homeland security are reading this go after this number.  Oh BTW This line will also be reported to the FCC.

After 2nd call, I blocked the number from reaching me. Then I reported the phone number to Microsoft as a Tech Support Scam by somebody claiming to be from Windows.  Like others, couldn't call back, wouldn't give name or contact information, wanted access to my computer.

Indian sounding male claiming he is calling from Windows tech support because of a virus my computer has. I called him a scammer and he gave me the "f*** you" and hung up. I expect he will be getting a call from the NYS Police after the complaint I made.

Not likely. Do you actually think this number is where he really called from? They use these numbers to look halfway believable and better their chances of getting an answer. It's probably a lost cause trying to report them when they're likely calling from overseas. I'd bet if the police actually call them, they'll get an innocent person who knows nothing of it. Want to make these guys mad, don't answer their calls in any way.

These are typical dishonest Indians, the accent is a dead giveaway.  This is the 2nd time they have called me. The first time, a couple of months ago, I played along until he hung up.  This time I told him I lived in Buffalo, worked for phone company, and would track him down.  If I can get him on the line for just a minute or two,  I can find him, even if Bangalore. Ha Ha - call me.
