- Jane| 1 replyI keep getting calls from these people for my daughter. I told them to quit calling but they won't stop. I'm about ready to call the law and report them. They are rude and call all hours. My daughter doesn't even owe the bill they are talking about. Is there a way to stop these people?

- ec replies to JaneHere's all the dirt on this sleazy company and advice on dealing with them: http://www.budhibbs.com/debtcollectorpages/account_solutions_group.htm
The fact that they've ignored your (verbal) notification to stop calling means that they are already in violation of the law. So for starters, report them online to the Federal Trade Commission. Here's the link: https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01 You should also report them to the consumer affairs division of your state's attorney general. (Your AG probably has website link to file a complaint online, or you can call his office to do it.)
Finally, put your cease-communication notification in writing. Send FirstSource/Account Solutions a letter notifying them that they are to cease all attempts to contact you and warning them that you will pursue legal penalties against them under the provisions of federal law if they don't comply with your cease-communication notice. It's very important that you send the letter via certified US Mail with a return receipt request, and save a copy of your letter. This is FirstSource/Account Solutions' address:
Account Solutions Group/First Source Advantage
205 Bryant Woods S.
Amherst, NY 14228
If Account Solutions Group/First Source Advantage contacts you more than once after receiving your cease-communication notice, then they are in violation of the law (again) and subject to monetary penalties for each violation. (Try to keep records of each illegal contact and any voice mail/Caller ID evidence.) This gives you the mail receipts and other evidence to easily prove that they aren't obeying the law; and then you can sue the hell out of them. :)

- Ohio| 1 replyActually called and said "Sir, this account is in Pre-Legal. Your a dirty little debtor, your a dirty little debtor sir. Your a dirty little debtor."
Are you freaking kidding me? First off, the account is in my wife's name, well before we got married, and I am NOT listed as a contact. Yet, they call my cell, her cell, probably her parents.
They called me after 9pm, I found my cell phone bill which showed and and am filing a lawsuit against them for breaking the Fair Credit Reporting Act. I will also be tagging on harrassment, emotional stress, and intimidation.
I suggest everyone else do the same.- Caller: First Source

- Adam TrippLast evening I recieved a call from a "unknown name calling from 716 564- 4905, who asked for my wife. I told him I was her husband. He asked for her birthdate for confirmation. I told him I would not give him any information unless he identified himself and his purpose for calling. He refused, so I hung up on him. This morning he called back and said that if I did not cooperate with him he would contact her relatives. I hung up on him again since he would not identify himself.

- Sick and TiredThey call constantly. Paul Considine every night. Told me that capital one can sue me for 3 times the amount i owe when just a few nights before I was told by the same dirtbag that it was against the law for capital one to contact me cause they now hold the debt. Told him to call my lawyer. He said against the law for him to do so. He keeps telling me that they haven't heard from my lawyer (which I have) and that I was a liar. That I had no lawyer and I was just using that excuse so he would stop calling me. He then proceeds to read my credit report to me about stuff I pay and cards I hold. May he rot in ---- for his abusive means. Somehow he got my sisters number, in another state, different last neame, never associated with the number he calls. I'll let you know what happens.

- argh ;/I have been recieving calls from them since January. They would call my mom's house....looking for my husband. HE has a debt with capitol one. I had every intention to pay it with the money i would be getting back from my school so I told him I would let him know....well...he called daily...I kept updating him....he called every week...still I updated him... I keep trying to tell him I have to wait for my loan to go through and get disbursed...well..today he calls...I tell him once again that I dont have it...and he starts....btw his name is *TODD*. He starts telling me that I have to pay it by the 28th....atleast $150.. I try to explain to him that I don't have that much....I have had the worst luck...no lie.. and he just continues on about how I should pay my bills...so he puts us down pretty much telling my how low I am for not paying my bill. I try explaining to him that I have more important bills to worry about right now....he tells me its an important bill...yea I would rather have a roof over my head and electricity if you ask me...He told me my husband was worthless because he dont make enough....oh course he used other words...saying, "your husband isnt doing anything for you". I flipped out on him, he told me I shouldnt yell at him.....I said well your the one being the [***]....and I told him now hes not getting a cent. I hung up on him...waiting for him to call back...I will continue to tell him to stop calling..and I am going to send a letter like you guys said..anything I can...

- Alfalfa| 1 replyBesides sending a Cease Communication Letter to these dirtbags, you need to file a complaint against them with the FTC for violation of Section 806 of the FDCPA:
Harassment or abuse [15 USC 1692d]
A debt collector may not engage in any conduct the natural consequence of which is to harass, oppress, or abuse any person in connection with the collection of a debt. Without limiting the general application of the foregoing, the following conduct is a violation of this section:
(1) The use or threat of use of violence or other criminal means to harm the physical person, reputation, or property of any person.
(2) The use of obscene or profane language or language the natural consequence of which is to abuse the hearer or reader.
(3) The publication of a list of consumers who allegedly refuse to pay debts, except to a consumer reporting agency or to persons meeting the requirements of section 603(f) or 604(3)1 of this Act.
(4) The advertisement for sale of any debt to coerce payment of the debt.
(5) Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the called number.
(6) Except as provided in section 804, the placement of telephone calls without meaningful disclosure of the caller's identity.

It has some good examples of Cease Communication letters. Just select the one which is appropriate for your situation. - annoyedThis same number keeps calling my cell phone, and then imediatly after calls my house phone. They have been extremely rude to both myself, and my husband, demanding to know why he "dosen't put me on the phone, or give me messages". They even repeatedly called my cell phone, when I was in the hospital giving birth to my daughter! My husband asked them to stop calling, and that I would call back when I left the hospital, only to get a response of "well if she was really in the hospital giving birth to your child, why aren't you there with her?" (He was in the same room as me BTW). The number also comes up as blocked or line 1. I wih there was something that could be done about the excessive, and unneccessary calling and behavior. This is very unprofessional, debt owed or not!

- Micheal replies to x-x| 2 replieslook into prosecuting them for bull dog harassment. you can sue them for the amount they say you owe. there is a justifiable way to go about it, and harassment iis not it.
- DebSome guy says he's "Jeffrey" from "First Source Advantage". He keeps calling my cell phone asking for some guy. I told him this number doesn't belong to anyone else but he calls back, and back, and back and he keeps yammering about why he's calling me every though I'm not a man. Yesterday he called, I told him to stop and disconnected. He called right back, I told him I was at WORK and not to call again and I hung up. He called BACK and left a smarmy message about how he's sorry we got disconnected and I should tell the guy he's trying to reach to call him back about some case number.
I found their fax number and faxed a written request to them. I doubt they'll honor it.
