- BillyThis number reached out to me and left a voicemail on my phone. It appeared to be coming from PNC Bank, and even gave the correct card name and the last four digits of my card in the voicemail. However, they called three times in one day, which made me suspicious. I reached out to PNC using their customer service direct line, and confirmed that this was indeed a scam phone call. This number is not associated with them, nor would they have called me without sending an email/text/notification through VirtualWallet in addition for added security.

- catreceived a call 8am today. googled and found this page. it's important to call the number on the back of your card, firstly. don't just read it's a scam and not check on your account. online check up isn't enough. call the number on your card. I had a fraudulent purchase to wish for $500. make an appt with your branch to have another made or have a new one mailed. call them though!

- Sue replies to Linda| 1 replyThis is a legit call. I just had the same thing happen, also called PNC to verify and they did not know it was made, but when they recalled in the afternoon I did answer, verified it was pnc checking about a charge they thought might be fraudulent because it was a large amount and is being delivered to another address....gift for my daughter. I was reassured it was PNC and was glad they were proactive about my card usage. Don’t fear that it is PNC, but also PNC should have the regular customer service notate they are calling because the left hand should know what the right hand is doing.
- Rae replies to Suei think that the only reason pnc called you back was because you called them in the first place. they had no record of calling you - but once you alerted them, they were checking for anything suspicious and unusual.
- humble1example| 1 replyI got the call and gave them my zipcode and the three digit number on the back of the card. They already knew my name, last 4 numbers of the card, and my address. They told me that they will send me the new card to my place. When I looked the number up after the call, these comments here hella confused me. So I directly called the PNC customer service to verify. Turns out, they did call me. This is real PNC.

- Jeffery Scicluna replies to TheresaI have lost my debit card I need to speak with someone
- Tygerkat replies to humble1example"This is real PNC". Maybe for you. But since scammers frequently spoof legitimate phone numbers, there's no guarantee it is for others.
The smart thing to do when you get such a call is to not give any information but instead hang up & call the number on the back of your card. - post pending moderator approval

- Scott replies to LindaJust went theough same deal. It is really PNC Bank loss prevention.
- KellyI received an automated call which left a message about suspicious activity on my PNC debit card account. They had the last four digits of my card number. I first checked my account and found nothing suspicious. I looked up numbers to contact PNC and this number was not among them. I then googled the number and found this site. I will not call them back as it seems suspicious.
