I got a message from that number and called my bank. They had no alerts on my accounts. Not sure what it was all about but I would say NEVER call back any number you don’t recognize

Thanks for the info !! I totally believe  you !! The people on here saying it’s not a scam are part of the scam !! They called me today too and said the last 4 of my card number and not account !! Anybody with common sense knows a bank is not calling to ask you to verify your card number over the phone !!

    Not PNC But A SCAM
Rec'd call from (800)225-5671 that id itself as PNC Loss Prevention Services. The msg said
There appeared to be questionable activity on
my debit card and to call them. I called and was asked if the number I was calling from the same number they called to. Next they asked if the last 4 digits of my card were xxxx press any number. I then checked my online account and there had been no activity. Thirdly, they wanted verification of my full name, to press 1 for yes, 5 for no. I pressed 5 and it continued as if I hit 1 and proceeded to ask for all 16 digits of my card. I hung-up, Google the number. Checked all my PNC phone numbers.  All PNC numbers begin with 888.

Not true. PNC calls me every year, even twice a year saying", There's nothing wrong, we are just calling to see if there's anything we can do for you".  They see my mortgage is paid off and want me to take a loan.

Received call from this # on my land lane.  Caller ID said "PNC."  The call was referring to suspicious activity on my wife's debit card for our joint account.  I went to PNC website and called # listed there, not number from the call.  I connected with Fraud Prevention and they told me it was a legitimate call.  They were questioning 3 transactions, all of which were real - no idea why they were being questioned.

I got 2 calls from this number today. I do not answer calls unless I know who it is so I let them go to voicemail. On the voicemail it said they were calling from PNC from the loss and prevention dept regarding fraudulent charges on my debit card. I looked into my account and found NOTHING to support that claim. There was no charges pending on my account and all looked well. This was not a call from PNC. Do not give them any information.

My father got a call recently from someone stating the same thing, but said they were from Amazon. He figured out it was a scam from the background noise when they said they were "transferring" him to different depts...the background noise never changed. Be careful.
