- Mic+18002255671 shows as pnc .. goggle brings up fraud ..... called fraud dept myself and the call is not PNC AT ALL ... they called me numerous times like every 20 minutes. ALWAYS CALL YOUR LOCAL BRANCH, DO NOT ANSWER THE CALL!!
- Caller: Claims pnc fraud IT'S NOT PNC AT ALL
- Bill in PittsburghThey called three times in a row, so I had to confront it. A card loss center immediately asking for the full number of the card they're afraid I lost!?!? I said that even if they WERE PNC, they were so incompetent that they might as well be spam. The operator kept gabbing, and I was getting ticked off, so I roared "GOOD NIGHT" and hung up.
- Jennifer replies to Rooster CogburnI got an automated call a few minutes ago and they told me to have my 16 digit card number ready to give the person. I had fraud issues less than a year ago and they have never asked me to have that information ready to give them. I do think that sometimes the call is legit and sometimes it is not.
- AdamI called PNCs (1800PNCBANK) phone number and they confirmed this number is one of their departments. If you are getting a call from this number, hang up and call it back. Scammers can spoof the number, but the number is a legitimate PNC number. And they will call you to verify suspicious purchases.
- Caller: PNC Bank
- Call type: Valid
- JohnI got a call from this #; went to the local branch and there was a legit unauthorized use of the card but I STILL was not going to give any PII over the phone. Go to a local branch and confirm the activity with them.
- Caller: PNC
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Glema replies to Someone in Georgiayes, it is a legit pnc number
- RNI received a voice mail message from this number in which the caller identified itself as PNC (I read the transcript) requesting a call back. I called and they wanted me to confirm transactions--they knew of my last two purchases AND the last four digts of my card number. I confirmed and confirmed my zip code--which they also knew. Afterwards, I got freaked out. I called the number on the back of my card twice hoping to verify that I had talked to someone at PNC. It was Sunday and the call center person did not understand me very well. The first time she put me on hold and then fifteen minutes in disconnected me. The second time she said that my card was not suspended and then thanked me for calling. I canceled my card on line.
- Caller: supposedly PNC
