- Debbie replies to ShirleyWhat a bunch of freaks they are. Got a call saying they just wanted to talk to me. Weirdos.
- Debbie replies to JakeI always tell them that I am recording the call too for quality control purposes. They hang up.
- annoyedBack to back calls. First one from Capital One now this one from Discover. These are both calls from Card Services, the SCAM. They have spoofed the numbers of both of these places, so really, you don't know if it is truly Capital One or Discover calling. If they ask for your card #, hang up. It is not the real company. Call them back using the customer service # on your card or Google their #. I will not give out any personal info over the phone anymore unless I initiate the call. Its a sad world out there now a days and we all need to be vigilant.
- Caller: Card Services Scam
- Thank you replies to GrouchyThank you. You are right.

Beware of new ‘can you hear me’ phone scam
The idea of this phone scam is aimed at getting people who answer the call to say the word ‘yes.’
It may not seem like a big deal at the time, but it’s what the criminals can do later with that recording that’s dangerous to you, your information and your identity.
Once they have a recording on file of your voice saying ‘yes,’ scammers can then use it to authorize unwanted charges on bills, credit cards and more.
‘You say ‘yes,’ it gets recorded and they say that you have agreed to something,’ Susan Grant, director of consumer protection for the Consumer Federation of America, told CBS News.
The caller may also ask you to press a button to be placed on the ‘do not call’ registry, which is just a way for the crooks to find out if the number they called is active. - SunshineGot a call and the recorded message was on how to lower my interest rate. It is a Discover number. I don't even has a Discover Card nor any other credit cards. What a bunch of BS.
- Caller: Discover Card
- Call type: Prank

- KittyReceived call from 800-347-2683 on 4/7/17 at 1:11PM ET. Standard recorded message said that it was "Card Member Services", press 1 to speak to someone about reducing my credit card balance interest rate. I pressed 1; and by the way, I have NO credit card debt at all, and haven't for many years. The gentleman from India told me he was calling from "Credit Card Services". He said they are headquartered in Atlanta Georgia; and that they represent all major US credit cards. he told me that Experian does the auto-dialing; and then anyone interested is transferred to him. He said he was looking at my credit data, and that I have always paid my credit card balance on time, for years, by paying the minimum balance due each month. Of course, THAT IS A COMPLETE LIE. as I said I have no credit card balance, haven't for years, and I don;t even use the one major credit card that I do have. I looked them up online and read a report that the FTC shut them down in 2015. I also read that their auto-dialers make 10 to 15 MILLION calls per day. These people have been calling me for years, even though my phone number has been on the USELESS Do Not Call list for years as well. There are a number of blocking devices that can be purchased on Amazon and elsewhere to block these calls, which can be at least a nuisance, and if anyone is stupid enough to actually give them any of their real financial information - well I can only imagine the financial hell that would result! By the way, I contacted the FTC about them, and I was told that there is NOTING that the FTC can do to stop them, as they are constantly switching their phone numbers. So when they call sometimes I just hang up on the recording and other times I engage an individual with all lies, for sport.
- Caller: Card Member Services
- Call type: Telemarketer
- EmotionalProblemsOooohhhh... I feel so bad for those tossers promising me lower credit card rates. They can't give me a lower rate than I have now. (I have no credit card(s).) Hmmm... I just had an idea. Perhaps, if we started asking them to pay us for using their cards...?
- Caller: LOWER CREDIT CARD RATE SCAM
- Call type: Telemarketer
- DTCaller ID said it was Discover Card - was actually just another 'lower your rate' credit card scam.
- johnIf this was a call for Discover, it was a scam. Do not have a discover card.
- Go Awaycalled and left no message. Am guessing it's same credit card scam everyone else is reporting
- OSReceived call from 1-800-347-2683 with caller ID of Toll Free number. I was bored so answered and was advised that it was Discovery Credit card calling. I asked the individual for their business address and received no reply. I stated that the caller should know where she worked at and since she didn't this was just another scam. FYI once you receive the address ask for a call back number then go on the Internet and confirm. Then look up the fraud division for the FBI on the internet and report them if you believe they are scammers. Have done this numerous times for the IRS and Microsoft scammers.
