They are probably looking for the person who had your phone number before you got it.  

Put the number in your contacts list and assign it the ring tone "no ring" or "silence".  It won't stop the calls but it will make it easier for you to ignore them.

they keep calling us for someone who had our number before. its been 5 years of telling them they have the wrong number and they still call! time to get the law involved !  i call back and explain they have the wrong people and they say they remove the number but 10 mins later they call again! its getting old we have no debt and i shouldnt be harrassed after asking to be removed from the list!

been getting calls too.  Funny how they called 5 minutes ago here at 8:00 on Sunday but I got a message saying their offices are closed on Sunday when I tried calling back just now.  Makes sense...

This number keeps calling my daughter's cell phone. Every time I call, I get a message saying they are closed.

1-800-377-7789; consistently calls Monday thru Friday on a regular basis. No problem if they had the decency to leave a message. If I'm not mistaken, multiple calls from the same company without leaving any contact information is Against the Law in the state of Colorado! I'm about to get in my car and drive there and burn their business to the ground.

I don't owe anybody anything, yet I keep getting phone calls from that number... I don't think it's a debt collector...

I get calls from this number every few days, my number is on the do not call list. they never leave a message and the one time i picked up the phone they said nothing.

I called and asked why are they calling me and they wanted my address to verify who I am. I told them I will not be giving out any personal information until I know why they are calling me. She wouldn't say so I asked to be removed from the calling list or I sue them, She hung up.

They call with a recording asking for my 3 year old daughter...... For my stinking cable bill that I TRIED to work out with TWC.... How they got her name I do not know

I am using these lawyers to handle my case on a credit harrassment suit. They are doing a great job so far.

Yes, they are. The TCPA is very specific about illegal robo-calls made to cell phones, emergency phone lines and health care facilities and REGARDLESS of the circumstances, which includes making repeated and harassing phone calls made to non-debtors. NCO Financial (another debt collector) was sued back in 2008 for refusing to stop calling a man even though he kept telling them the person they were after no longer owned the number. And, Portfolio Recovery Associates has currently has a class action lawsuit filed against them in the Georgia courts for calling a woman on her cell phone and without her consent.
