- JessyGot a call from Dell "customer service" after about 20 emails and a few voicemails left for a supervisor spaning over a MONTH.
If you pay (a lot) extra, you can get tech support from north america. I'm looking for that number because those outsourced idiots will not help me.
BTW, they say they take Paypal as a method of payment..... THEY DON'T.- Call type: Event reminder
- AL| 2 repliesClaiming to be from Dell to verify my order or it would be CANCELED. They gave a call back number. I called the direct Dell number instead and they said my order was just fine and would be shipping today. Sounds like this is a complete SCAM. Now pardon me while I cancel my Dell order... what terrible business to provide my phone number to these people. Seriously.
- Blond but not DumbReceived two calls from this number today. The first was aggressively pushing an extened warranty for my dell laptop. I asked him to email me the info and I would buy online. He was adament that the warranty could only be purchased via phone. I then received an email asking for my bank name and routing number to purchase the warranty. This was followed by another phone call pressuring me to finalize the purchase. I asked him to leave me alone.

- Kev replies to AL| 1 replyI got the exact same thing. Bought something on Dell's website then a day later a woman w/ Indian accent called from this number (I didn't pick up) the message said pretty much the same thing: calling to confirm the TV that I ordered (I bought laptop) and need my credit card, address and bank info or else my order will be cancelled. I checked my order with Dell and there's nothing wrong with it. Sounds like a scam to me
- Shazzbot RamalamadingdonIt was Dell. I have been trying to order a computer for two days and thought I had it straightened out this morning. They left a number, I called back only to get an answering machine. How I wish companies stopped outsourcing their customer / tech support.
- Caller: Dell
- Dell Laptop OrderOrdered a laptop from Dell Canada. They called from the US to check if I am the person who ordered and if I was contacted by Purolator about delivery. They added that the laptop is put together in the USA and then shipped to Dell facility in Ontario and delivered by Purolator within Canada.
Following that, I received an automated phone call from 800-847-4096 DELL/Purolator saying they would be delivering a parcel within the next 7 days between 9am to 5pm. Tracking number given.
Legitimate. - JohnDell verification of my order. I placed a PC order over the internet. Five minutes later my phone rings and it's Dell asking me if I am who they think I am. Legit.

- Brian3-5 calls / day - when answered hold music is all that is on the other end- Called them and they agreed to take our number out of their system. They tried to persuade me to give them my email address at the end of the call- Yeah...right....

- Allison| 1 replyI got a call from this number almost immediately after placing an order through Dell.com. A woman with a South Asian accent left me a voice mail wanting to confirm my order of two notebooks of a type I could not understand through her accent. I had only ordered one computer and it was not of the type she mentioned. I currently have an email in to Dell.com order support about this phone call.
- RonI received a call from this number and at first thought it was another phone phishing scam. Turns out that the number is legitimate. I'm glad that I called back as it turned out that my debit card had been compomised and someone had tried to order a laptop from Dell using my debit-card information. Had I ignored this call, the fraud would have been perpetuated to who-knows-what level. Just a reminder to take when using a new web site to place an order with a credit card. I had just placed an order on line several days earlier at a site that I had not visited before. I suspect that is where the card apparently became compromised.
- Jessica BushThis number has called my home twice. Both times I have told them that the credit card charge they are calling about was disputed as part of a group of fraudulent charges and that the account which was used is no longer valid. They are very sketchy on the phone and always seem to be trying to get detailed information from me which I am not willing to provide. The first time they called, they hung up on me when I got insistent and wanted to know which card they were talking about. The second time they seemed to be trying to get me to give them the last 4 digits of the new account number which I would not give. She finally gave up and told me she would have to work it out with the bank.

- chuck save a buck replies to Samuel LeonardQuit looking at porn and ya wouldn't have to pay so much for virus removal.
I have received some calls from this number recently. Was not available to answer. I have noticed that i have a one dollar charge pending on my credit card starting from when i got the first call. Never ordered anything. Did contact tech support before calls. Was from an issue about why my memory speed is running at 1066Mhz when advertised at 1333Mhz speed. Turns out (answer from tech support) the bus speed on the motherboard doesn't handle the faster speed of the memory dimms. So never ordered anything and DO NOT believe something should be tying up my credit until i cancel what was never ordered. Was planning on ordering more stuff from dell. Don't think so now. That is dells fault!!! - Jim P. replies to Samuel LeonardOK, how about this...
I bought a high-end laptop from Dell. I downloaded the sound driver from Dell's site and installed it. After I did that, my sound stopped working. In order to get sound again, I had to re-install the driver. Any time I restarted the computer, I had to reinstall the software to get the sound to work.
I called Dell, and told them the problem. I verified that I download the correct version with a tech person, but he said he couldn't help me fix the problem, I had to contact someone in the software department. He transferred me, and after explaining the issue again, the person said they couldn't help me unless I purchased a software agreement for over $100. They said I could get a 1-year, 4-incident agreement for $239 - this would cover 4 different types of software problems.
Why should I pay over $100 to have them fix a problem that they caused? It wasn't MY fault their software that updates the drivers doesn't work properly.
Dell is a hardware company. They should not include any of their own software on their PCs, unless they are willing to support it.
I ended up finding the solution by doing a google search on the error message. I won't buy another Dell. - FarangTwo calls, one right after another, and did not answer due to being overseas. I figured they where calling about the XPX M1330 I have that has gone through 7, yes count them, 7 motherboards. Never, ever again will I purchase a Dell
- Bill replies to connievcSame thing kinda happened to me when the 5 month old Dell Dock system stopped working and they wanted $130 to fix it because software isn't covered. I just took it to my local computer repair shop in Boise and the removed and reinstalled the program for $45. I wasn't going to pay them the money to fix thier own software.
- ljsUnder the pretense of being Dell Customer Service, this is actually a sales call to try to sell an extended warranty, more RAM memory, etc.

- AnnoyedThis is my work number and they called 7 times between 5:56 PM and 6:51 PM. The calls went into voice mail three times but there was nothing there. That was just last night! They never leave a message but you can hear someone in the background!
- DQI have had more than 100 calls from this number in the last week. Over 35 just today. When I don't answer they either leave a blank message or hang up. Some calls are just one minute apart. If I answer the phone they hang up on me.
When I call number back I get absolutely no help.
