- CA-Victim replies to Lisa| 1 replyThis number sent me an automated message today claiming to be from EAuction and stating that my new account was now ready for use. Fortunately, my bank had already caught suspicious activity yesterday and froze my account. I have numerous small charges from the following:
clickandbuy.com
superauctionpro.com
regnetord.com
Grant Search
Maxx Supplements
Netflix
Yahoo Search Marketing
Whatever you do, do not call this number back as it is surely a phishing scam. - CA-Victim replies to CA-VictimFor everyone's benefit--if you get a call from this company or see this number associated to a transaction on your debit card, CANCEL YOUR CARD IMMEDIATELY and report it to your bank as well as www.ic3.gov--the agency which handles reports of Internet Crimes and Identity Theft. In addition, you might wish to put an Initial Fraud Alert on your credit report with the following three agencies:
Equifax: 1.800.525.6285 www.equifax.com
Experian: 1.888.397.3742 www.experian.com
TransUnion: 1.800.680.7289 www.transunion.com
The Fraud Alert will remain in effect for 90 days. - emily formanI didn't get called, they just billed my card. How do I get my money back?
- Working too hard to protect myself replies to Rip off| 4 repliesYour posts are very helpful - I filed a challenge to these charges earlier and failed to follow up. Now I had to cancel my card and am now working with my credit card company to reverse over $450 in charges, $49.99 per month for several months. If I do not recieve a full credit from this company I intend to go to our new state attorney general and file fraud charges against them. It won't get my money back but maybe it will get them out of Oregon.
- jv| 2 repliesI got an unauthorized charge of 15.90 on my visa. Reported it to my cc company and they cancelled my numbers. Scary!! It started with a 1.95 shipping fee.
- Got Scamed.. replies to Mark| 2 repliesThey had charged me 2.95 then $29.99 I called my bank and my bank wants me to call them first before they reverse the charges and I just saw here if you call them they end up making a bigger whole u know where...
So what are we suppose to do in this case anyone? - James replies to jv| 1 replyI dealt with the same company under the name of eAuction tools. We actually signed up for a free trial, and when we tried to cancel during the trial period, no one answered our calls, and their messaging system did not work. When I actually got a hold of someone they were unwilling to help me. After arguing with them they agreed to refund half the amount. This was after they insulted me, calling me a liar and telling me I was wasting their time. I was horrified and shocked at their business practices.
- Brie replies to Mark| 5 repliesI've been receiving charges from DRI 59.90 from July-December 2008 at about the same time every month. I tried calling the 800 number but it wanted me to leave a message and the recording never said the company's name.
Who are these people??? - shocked&dismayed| 1 replyI received no call, but they hit my debit card much like everybody else. How do they get our info??? Are they affiliated with other companies that we shop online with?? Most of the time I use Paypal or I shop with reputable companies like Amazon.com. I am usually very careful so I am shocked that they got me!!
- starman replies to BrieI have been receiving the same charges $59.90 from July 2008 to present with the most recent charge on 3/2/09 I have no idea who these people are. Have you made any progress in this?
- victim| 1 replyokay so
google money machine is using the same number!
i received an email saying i will be charge 2.95 now and within 7 days ill be charge 69.95 and then 99.95 monthly
i freaked out
i called my CC company and luckly no charges had went through.
i reported that card lost and got a new one issued with a brand new number!- Caller: google money machine
- Jane replies to Queso| 12 repliesI also received the initial $1.95 charge and then one week later, the first monthly charge of $69.90 appeared. I noticed these charges about two week after making a purchase through Clickbank. I called my credit card company to have my account number changed and to report these two charges as fraud. I had the same experience as shown in the previous posts on this site: 1-800-497-4988 does not answer their phone; you just get a recording that keeps you on hold endlessly.
- Doug| 1 replyI too just received an unauthorized charge for $59.90 and immediately reported it to Bank of America as fraudulent. I did authorize the immediate $2.95 as a dumb consumer thinking maybe this packet of information might just lead to something. "What's $3?" i thought, it couldn't hurt to order it and see. And 5 days later I have the additional charge.
- Call type: Unwanted
- Kathy replies to MarkI called the number (800-497-4988) and hit 2 for billing and got a guy who explained that when you authorize for the 2.95 in fine print it states that the 2.95 is for a 7 day trial for whatever you signed up for. After this 7 day period you agree to a prepaid account which is authorized from your credit card.
I called Visa and they would not give me a credit or block future charges. However the client services guy that i called to at the 1-800 number did cancel the account and ensured no more charges would be taken off my credit card. - missydidnt get a call but had a charge of 69.90 to my bank account. this is the second different company ive gotten a charge from! WTF! anyone know how to stop it?
- Michelle replies to JaneMy husband agreed to a charge for a 2.95 thinking that it would be a good tool to add to his bus. website but then we got the charge for 59.90 that we NEVER agreed too. I spoke with my bank and they gave me a number of someone that can cancel the charges from reoccurring - but was not willing to refund my money stating that the charges were outlined in the original "terms and conditions", even though they obviously weren't or we'd never agreed. Anyways, the number for TD/eauctions is 1-801-578-9020, and if you wait on hold during office hours you will speak to someone. I am currently disputing the charge, so hopefully I'll get my $$ back!!! Best advise, don't buy anything or give any information to ANY of these people, even if they are legit. they are obviously not looking out for customer's best interests.
- disappointedI signed up on google machine and they are using the same # as well. Same as most of you in the fine print it said 2.95 is only for 7 days free trial after that it's 69.95. I freaked out and tried calling the # was always busy. I called Amex, they said they will dispute the charges when it shows up and I don't have to pay anything.
- mona replies to Jane| 7 repliesThe absolutely same thing just happened to me,too. I paid $7 to a website in order to join the online survey business. The agreed $7 was debted from my credit card through ClikBank, than the day after, this eAuction company charged my card $1.95 followed by a $69.90. I have NO IDEA whatsoever about this eAuction scam-company. I feel very angry for being victim of a scam! I just called my credit card company. I've started a dispute.
- EL replies to Got Scamed..| 1 replyI called and told them I had no recollection of an account with their company and they were very polite and cancelled the account under my name. They also told me to contact the authorities as someone must have access to all my information.
- MarkI responded to an online add to receive information about Federal Grant Money available to the General Public for only $2.95. The $2.95 showed up the next day on my statement but the next day it changed to $69.90.
THIS A SCAM.....don't fall for the GRANT MONEY INFO scam!
