I was called by this number with someone posing as a Direct TV customer service person offering 59/mo if you prepaid using an amazon gc.  They gave the billing number to call with your payment as 888.789.8125.

Scam caller claiming to be Direct TV with special promotion pricing. I hung up on her, she had heavy accent talked fast hard to understand. Called me back 3 times in 3 hours, her calling number is now blocked.

Wouldn't stop calling. Doesn't say anything when I say hello, except for once when he mentioned he was with Direct TV. My apt is not even in position to allow for satellite service (which was already documented by direct tv).

Same thing here Amazon promotion if I use a $350 gift card for Direct Tv six months prepaid. I just keep telling them that I already made the payment. Figured I'll let them keep wondering what happened to it and whether not seeing it!  When they call me back tomorrow I want to tell them that I already got my prepaid Visa card in the mail. And thanks for being so prompt

Received call from this number on December 6, 2016. We are a new customer of DTV. I could not understand the caller; howerver I did understand Direct TV...(None English as primary language). I told the caller I could not understand anything we was saying and requested to send information he was trying to pitch... he hung up... Very rude.

Has called me at least a dozen times in 30 minites

some a**hole from India that I couldn't even understand started asking about my Directv and trying to sell me Sunday Ticket???
There's only 4 regular season games left and they want me to pay full for Sunday Ticket??
When I asked to speak to his supervisor he hung up on me.
Spoofed number for sure, wish Directv would be proactive and get it taken care of

FYI, I just called DIrectv (not the number they gave me) and spoke to 2 people. The first person said this WAS NOT a directv promo. The second girl said this is AN ACTUAL OFFER and it is thru our 3rd party vendors. Deal is with AMAZON and VISA

8 phone calls today..hmmm. So I finally pick up and make them tell me who they ARE . and they said direct tv...and I said ohhhh so THAT's who's calling me in a condescending tone. And they nervously hung up. Very comical. I don't believe this is direct tv. They wouldn't act this stupid and interact in this fashion .

Called directv and it is a SCAM. They use the same number as directv to call me confusing yes.

Called 11 times today didn't answer. Called Direct TV they said wasn't them and to answer the phone when they called and let them know what the caller said. They said it was Direct TV and I said that I was talking to them on the other line already. They hung up. Direct TV knows they are using one of their main lines and haven't done anything to let customers know THIS IS A SCAM DO NOT ANSWER 800 531 5000!!!!

Stop calling our house.   Everytime I say hello I hear nothing.  You have already called twice this morning.  Please stop

This is not Directv. I received a call from this number today. They are offering a reduced rate if you pay 4 months in advance. Additionally, my rate would be reduced for the 20 months following. Annnddd.. if that wasn't good enough, he was going to send a $100 Visa card to me. Sounds too good to be true so I called Directv and they confirmed my thought that this is a scam.  The scammer had a VERY thick Asian Indian accent. Almost impossible to understand.

The caller claimed to be from TWC even after I said my my caller ID says you're from DirecTV.  He then offered to lower my bill by $24 and would be sending me 3 DVRs and a dish but there would be no installation charges...Why do I need a dish if he's from TWC and I have their service.  SCAM artist.  Called TWC to confirm and they had no record of calling me.

gettina a call every day about every hour from this number 1-800 531-5000. they never say anytning..

800-531-5000 the DirecTV spoofed number called Sept 20th 2016. DirecTV/Amazon scams and found this scam had been going on since February 2016. Said it was a promotion with DirecTV and Amazon.  Promotion offering reduced monthly rates on DirecTV bill and get premium channels, and NFL Sundays for 2 years. Amazon Gift Card promised if paid 5 months up front with an Amazon gift card within in 24 hours -would receive a $100 Visa gift card as well. DirecTV / AT&T has not notified their customers of this scam. Other numbers used with this SCAM are billing department for Direct TV 888-407-3735; billing dept number 888-407-8781, 888-789-8125 and 888-762-3896 called Oct. 6, 2016.

Received two calls from this #, claiming to be from DirectTV.  I said I wasn't interested and the agent with a thick accent said "F--- you" to me multiple times.

Got a call on my cell from someone claiming to be from Direct TV.  After a couple of questions about what services I have with Direct TV and AT&T, the caller (indian accent with a lot of call center noise in the background) offered a 2 yr. promotion with combined billing at a big discount.  He said I just need to use a promo code from his manager and they would connect me to the billing office and that I would need to pay the next two months of service in advance - $380 total.  He was pretty good at sounding legitimate by asking me not to provide any personal or financial information to him.  He also told me my address, which was impressive.  When he put me on hold to get the promo code, I googled to confirm that this was a scam and promptly hung up and blocked the number.
