I just got a call from this number -- no one on the line -- I also have DirecTV.

I would like to set my cell phone to "no ring" but I don't know how.

I DO NOT HAVE ANY TV.. BUT YES IT WAS THEM HA HA

sad to say it is not a scam, though it seems alot like one... it is Direct TV.... they are trying to get current and past customers to upgrade their service..basically this is a telemarketer trying to sell you something you probably do not want if you haven't already got it... and if you have it already you do not need it... feel free to blow a whistle into the phone in hopes of damaging the persons hearing.

Call from DirecTV's "New Customer Connection Group" welcoming me to DirecTV.  Just had DirecTV installed a few days ago.

This is from DirectTV.  We don't use these people for our cable.  They called today, on a holiday, at 5:30 p.m. as we were having dinner.

The caller i.d. did not say DirectTV; it said something like For Closed Captioned, and that was it.

They come up as unavailable on my site, so I let the call go through to my voice mail then delete the voice mail when i choose to listen to my messages

It was DirecTV, to which I have been a subscriber since 1999.  The message was a recording from some fast-talking actress with a British? Australian? accent who got as far as saying I might remember her from (undecipherable) or Damages before I hung up.  Caller ID was Unavailable.  This is poor practice, DirecTV.  Not only are you bothering loyal customers with junk calls, but you're outright lying about who's placing the call.

I just got this one too. DirecTV's calls need to stop.

they just called me and guess what? I DONT HAVE DIRECTV!!!  Thanks to all who posted who it was though!

They've called me twice -- both times, left a message talking about how I need to send back my box (??) to avoid getting charged a fee. I've never had DirecTV, so it's probably whoever had this number before me, seeing as I get debt collection calls many times a week :|

DirectTV left a message explaining how to access movies and other features. CallerID showed "toll free caller."

Another lovely automated call from DirecTv pushing their sports packages.  We cancelled DirecTv a long time ago, sent their equipment back and waited forever and a day for them to credit my account for the unused portion of our last month of service.  We switched to Netflix and it has been the best decision we've made.  The last time they called me I called back and told them this nonsense needs to stop.  I am a former customer and have no desire to go back to traditional tv service ever again.  The rep said it was a mistake call and that I would not get any more calls.  Obviously that was a big steaming pile of crap, so looks like corporate is going to get an earful from me.  Caller ID shows Toll Free Caller.

Got a call from this number at my work. The person on the line seemed frantic and was VERY hard to understand. I couldn't tell if he had an accent or the connection was just bad, or both. He kept saying "Please, I need your name, I'm in trouble." Not wanting to be scammed, I asked why he needed my name. He said he was in trouble and gave a long, garbled explanation about dreams (I think). I could have sworn he said "I watched your dreams". I asked if there was a boss or supervisor I could talk to. He said he was calling from a cell phone (caller ID said "Toll Free Call"). He gave the same garbled explanation involving dreams, but he gave it perfectly verbatim. I began to wonder if this was actually a robot, something like CleverBot, that generated sentences based loosely on my responses.

When it was clear I wouldn't give him my name, he switched to asking for my cell phone number. I asked how he got my work number in the first place. He said "from a friend". I asked what the friend's name was. He said "John Smith". Seems legit, right? I said "I don't know a John Smith, try again." Then he said something like, "I called before, you were so rude to me, you broke my heart, but I still love your voice, it's so pretty". Then more unintelligible stuff. Then his voice actually faded out, like the end of a song.

Being a listed business number, I get some WEIRD calls, but this might be the best one yet. Unless DirectTV (which I don't even have) has some rogue employees making prank calls from their number, that's definitely NOT who called me from this number.

Now that I've thought about it more, I am pretty sure this was a prank call made using a soundboard.

What is a soundboard? Is it a device to change your voice so no one recognizes you?

Got a call from this number at 0845 on a Sunday morning. No one on the other end. Tired of these phone calls and nobody on the phone....not even the recordings.

The first time they ask for JEB. NO jeb here. Stop calling.
Now they keep calling my cell? why? You are band from doing bussiness.
