- Kevin replies to UnbelievableThe same happened to my brother that is impaired cognitively. He was charged $29.95/month for 15 months and I didn't catch it until it put his account into the negative and he was assessed multiple overdraft fees.
This is a company that prays on the mentally impaired and is absolutely disgusting.
The gentleman I spoke with wanted nothing more than to get off the phone with me and would not let me speak with anyone "in charge" he just gave me a cancellation number and said something about mailing information out.
When asked how they got permission or even my brother's account information, they told me that someone through a telemarketing called agreed to this, which is completely false, since I am his legal guardian and the only one that can authorize this and my brother is not mentally able to even provide this information.
NUF IPP INS 866 914-6148 is a complete scam that preys on the most vulnerable in our society. I can not understand based on how old some of these posts are that they are still functioning and doing this fraud. - Scammed2Agreed with all who are furious. I was in a bad place for a while and I guess I missed the charge on my statement or just didn't look. They wracked up for quite some time until I realized it and called to find out exactly who this Nuf AP Ins. was! I never received any documents or anything to inform/remind me that I was enrolled in this policy and I have no recollection of it. I feel completely disgusted and I'm guessing there is zero recourse.
What a shame people actually make money like this.- Caller: Nuf AP Ins

- Kim| 1 replyI have just recently noticed that my wf account has been deducting 23.95 once a month, being ignorant, I thought my husband bought something for my computer, until I ask him, he had no idea of what I was talking about. I decided to look into these charges, and found out that this was some sort of a scam. We never received any phone calls, and only God knows how they got our account number! I will try calling this 800-572-5848 and the other number that was listed from last month's statement. If I dont get anywhere, I will call the bank. WF has always been there to help me with these matters. Wish me luck! KS
- GW in Fla. replies to vikiYou're right, this can pay. I paid $25 a month, added to my Wells fargo mort payment, and it reimburses me for one dr. or dentist visit a month. I get my tteth cleaned 4 times a year, and it pays me for them. Originaly paid like $110/visit, but I am now up to $150, as it increases each year. With my annual physical and other assorted dr. visits, I get $150 most months. But JUST my teeth cleanings more than pay the $300 annual cost.
- Jim replies to The truth revealedI doubt your doing well in college. Especially when you can not write a complete sentence.
Good luck convincing your self. Did you not read the first entry from another employee.
Did you sell it to your family? - JS replies to KimWe have just discovered that we have been scammed for at least the past 6 months at $24.95 per month. We will be visiting our personal banker at Wells Fargo tomorrow morning. I hope we have better luck in getting this resolved than some others have. I am embarrassed that we didn't notice this charge on our WF Visa until this month. What I've learned so far is to be so much more attentive to every line on every bill. Wish there were more hours in the day!
- NotOKI had been confusing this charge for YEARS with my renters insurance with a entirely different company. I saw my statement today and saw NUF ACC INS a line above my renters insurance and called the phone number for NUF 1-800-572-5848.
Got a menu selection and refused the survey at the end of the call. I got a lady who spent the first several minutes explaining all the benefits of what we had with our monthly fee of $24.90. I finally stopped her and asked how did this happen and how are we going to cancel. She went on about a telemarketing call we had received that "sold" one of us this package along with a complementarity gas card. I assured her this was never the case and we would be cancelling everything right now.
She went on to cancel it and gave me a "cancel code". Then she let me know we would be getting $12.50 refunded to our account as part of our cancellation. I have a hard time believing any of this. And during the call I had to verify a good amount of information and now wonder if it will all just happen again!- Caller: NUF ACC INS National Union Fire Accident Insurance
- NominallyThis phone number appeared on our checking account. The way Wells Fargo handled it for us was to close the account. Nothing said about cancelling those charges, refunds, etc. After they closed the account, they hung up.

- Sue D. replies to BrigittePlease -- if you receive a letter saying that you already have a policy -- take it seriously. Even if you think you don't and don't think you're paying them anything. I recently received this same letter. It told me I had a policy with National Union Fire Insurance (but did not specify what kind of insurance) and said that the policy lapsed in April, that payment to continue the policy was due in July (even though the letter was sent in September!). to make a very long story short, I tried to call in just to even find out what kind of insurance it was for (on the off-chance I did have a policy that had been purchased by NUF since I knew I had never originated a policy with them). Anyway, they wouldn't share any info unless I gave them more personal info than I was comfortable giving. So I smelled a rat and sent the letter on to my local Attorney General. A few weeks go by and I get a check in the mail from National Union for over $1000. Turns out that they had somehow (without my agreement) attached a $14.95 monthly charge to my mortgage bill every month since 2006. I don't review my mortgage statement unless the escrow amount changes. It's on auto-pilot with automatic payments. So this went on for years. The only reason they sent me the letter was because we refinanced and our old mortgage was cancelled. So they no longer had an account to keep billing. What amazes me is that all it took was one letter to our Attorney General saying "something's fishy about this letter we got" and we got almost $1500 back -- with no questions asked and no pressure. In other words, AIG and NUF know that what they're doing is NOT on the up-and-up and that more than likely if you ask for that "recording" of when you said "yes" to their policy, there isn't one. Please pursue them if you receive one of these letters. It's all too easy to think it's just a regular-old scam and toss it in the trash. The scam here goes FAR deeper.
- SID replies to csrYou are the one being sold a bill of goods by this company. The rest of us are being trapped into things we did NOT ask for or agree to. But they tell you that the customers a) had to agree (and yet there are so many of us who clearly did not) and b) are stupid for not checking their bank statements. Mine was hidden on my mortgage bill. I say HIDDEN because it did not start until 3 years after my mortgage went into effect and my mortgage amount only changes about once a year IF the escrowed amount that gets set aside for homeowner's insurance and taxes changes. So they slid this charge in (without my agreement) during one of those times of change and it sat there for 8 years. They charged me almost $1500 that I did not authorize and did not EVER know was happening. I have never received paperwork on this policy and never knew it existed. If I'd had an accident, I wouldn't have filed a claim because I wouldn't have known I even had any supplemental accident insurance. No phone call exists where I agreed to this. EVER. And that's why they sent me a full refund. Because they know that they're liars. But they like to keep you thinking that we're the liars so you'll keep doing their dirty work for them. Enjoy.
- SID replies to just a customer service repHere's the important part. They are lying to YOU about how people get this insurance. The story they tell you (and us when we call to complain) is that we agreed to a trial period, or we agreed to a gas gift card, or we just plain old verbally agreed to it. But we didn't. I bet if you tallied up all the people who have the policies today, the vast majority did NOT say yes, and a good chunk of those people (if not all) a) never saw any paperwork about any kind of policy, how to file a claim, what their policy covers, etc., and b) don't even realize they're paying for it. That's why you hear from angry people. And NUF would prefer that you believe it's all a misunderstanding. But it's not. It's a scam 99-99% of the time.
