this is a very legitimate offer as I am a quality control for this number.  The verification of your birthday is to confirm you are within age requirments.  Also we would never ask for ssn # or banking info.

I am one of those telemarkets that have to sale this crap to doctors.  I really hate when I come also these 70-80 year old, the poor things don't know what there getting into, and most of the time they are so sweet.  I really want to tell them, do not accept this offer.  I work for this place it pays alright money, i am looking for a new job and cannot find one that pays anything decent.  I am so sorry from the bottom of my heart.  I really  hope no one excepts this offer.  Also we do not ask for social security numbers.  We do ask for DOB.  And by the way, none of us sees your phone number, well it don't show up on my screen

Any company that charges you without your consent or even asking for your account info is NOT a legit company. They ended up charging me for 3 months of 24.90 each before I noticed.  My wife said she talked to them in december and they would send a packet for us to review. Guess what, no packet. I never knew about it until today when I saw my overdrawn account.

They must have gotten my account info from wells fargo, then set it to automatic withdrawal. No "your bill is due" email, just lost money.  Supposedly we have canceled and the latest charge has been removed.  To fix the rest, we have to write a letter.  How ironic, that a company that can't seem to send the information packet they say they will wants YOU to send THEM a letter.  What a bunch of crap.

I am boycotting this company and all of its subsidiaries, and I expect you all to do the same.  I just may send them a letter expressing that feeling.  Everyone should as well.

    Send to:
    National Union Fire Insurance Company
    Dept SD
    Box 44260
    Jacksonville, FL 32231

P.S. - My wife said this was coverage for 'if anything happened to me at work' kinda thing... whats this 'fire insurance'???
Again, not a company to trust.  After noticing that, I WILL be writing that letter, even though it may just go straight to their trash.  Everyone do the same.  Let's see if we can shut them down... or at least make them sweat.

I have received numerous calls from 1.800.572.5848, also identifying themselves as calling from Wells Fargo.  Each time I have told the telemarketer that the person they were looking for is out of town.  They have continued to call on a daily basis, both morning and night.  I too am on a no call list, but apparently they don't care.  I want to thank the person who furnished the 1.888.528.8460 TO STOP ALL CALLS FROM WELLS FARGO & THEIR 3RD PARTY VENDORS.  I urge you all to do the same.  Too much of our information is circulating out there without our knowledge!

I have an acct with WF. I get calls every once and a while at home from people calling "from" or on behalf of Wells Fargo. I got one today so it got me curious--

I logged onto my account online and clicked the "Account Services" tab. From there under the "My Profile" section, click on "Change Privacy Preferences." You can select to not let WF give your info to other companies there.

A lady called me this morning.  I was not home.  My cousin answered the phone.  The lady asked me to call her back.  She gave my cousin her phone number 800- 572-5848.  My cousin asked her where she called from?  She said, "National Union".  I have tried to look for that association with its given number, but I couldn't.  Maybe it's a scam! Just let others know about the fact to be cautious!

Said I agreed to this crazy "insurance" for $24.95 a month starting last April which I did not authorize!  Said they pay me $100 dollars for every doctors visit I make for missing work.  I'm a stay at home mom!!! This is ludicris!  I say I'm turning in any appointments I've had since April and let them pay me for them.  Another lesson learned, look over your credit card statements carefully or I would've noticed the charge months ago!!

Alan, I had the exact same thng happen as you can read posted below yours.  I say you do they same as I am doing.  File for any doctors visits during the time period you were covered and recoup your money+ if you've had at least four visits!  They want to scam us hoping we wont follow up- let's suprise them, follow-up and file the claims they so urgently say they cover and we agreed to!  Then cancel in writing with a certified letter!

I am not an "older" person but an advocate of the aged and am furious that this is another scam targeting the elderly of our country living on fixed incomes, rarely able to file claims on their own.  I ask everyone to send out e-mails to all you know warning of this scam and alert your older family members to be aware of this call awaiting them!!!  SHAME ON THEM!

This is a Wells Fargo deal....  We challenged the fees with Credit Card Fraud - and since the account was paid twice before (my daughter's account - she just transfered money to pay the bill - BIG LESSON LEARNED for her!!) -the Credit card company said they would not refund - because by paying the bill - she had "authorized" the charges.  Well Fargo may lose a client (and others) if they don't put a stop to "hooking-up" other companies to their clients!!  HOW STUPID CAN YOU BE?????

You would not be charging $24.90 for something no one has signed up for.  You absolutely DO NOT have a signed document - nor a recorded "OK" from me to OK a charge to my account....  Some QC person you must be - when your moral compass is so far out of alignment, you don't know right from wrong.  I can only hope that your children grow-up with the same character as their parent - so that when you visit them in JAIL - you'll know where they are and what they are up to!

Wells Fargo is not blameless in this either!  How stupid can you be to allow your bank name to be run thru the mud by a company that has no scruples!

    not feeling right
I got a call from 1-800-572-5848 this morning, they said they were calling from Wells Fargo..so I didn't immediately hang up on them. They were calling to offer accident insurance coverage if we were disabled and couldn't work. They did ask for my birth date & place of birth..which I didn't feel right about, but stupidly, gave anyway. I have since looked up the number and found all of these comments...instead of calling the number listed above for Wells Fargo to put a stop on my information I just called the number on my statement and spoke with a very pleasant person who took care of it immediately. She informed me it could take up to 30 days to stop receiving calls.
I, of course feel horrible about the decision to even answer the phone this morning. After calling the number back, I was told that nothing would be in the system about it for about 4 days. He said he tried to pull it up by my phone number and nothing came up about it.

Got the same call now they are charging my bank account when I received no information whatsoever from them. I told them I was not interested every time and for some reason now $24.90 is taken out of my account every month. Called Wells Fargo to see what I could do and they said I had to call the company directly. Was on hold for 30 minutes and then disconnected. I have to call yet again today and see because I am beyond livid.

Today, 9/18/09, I noticed a $19.90 charge on my wells fargo bank stmt from "NUF IPP INSR 800-572-5848", so I called 1-800-572-5848, I spoke with a "Moleesha" who says I spoke to someone on July 10 (I did not) and agreed to review some accident policy for 60 days (I did not). I told her I want to cancel, as this is a fraudulent charge, and she promptly gave me a cancellation number-basically her inititals and todays date.  I told her that additionally I want this $19.90 refunded, she said she couldn't do that, I would need to make a request in writing to:

        AIU Program Administrator
        PO Box 44260
        Jacksonville FL 32231

I then asked where they get their info, and she replied that this is a "service of Wells Fargo Bank".  I am contacting AIU, Wells Fargo Bank, and the BBB.  Hmmm...maybe the Attorney General's office, and my local newstation's "on your side" reporter will also be interested.

PS---She did say "AIU" Program Administrator, because she had to repeat it to me twice because it sounded like she was saying "AI-Chew", or "AI-Jue".

PPS---Hope this is goes better than the time that my husband filled out a sweepstakes form at Subway and ended up changing our long distance carrier because of the small print.  That was an eight month battle to fix.

This company called and got my 82yr of sick mother to signup for this using a checking account that I co-sign with her.  I also have legal/medical/financial power of attorney for my mother. When I called this company to cancel this policy they refused me.  They even refused to send me the information on how to actually use the policy and they promised.  What a SCAM!
