I called this number and spoke with Ms. Livingston (or so she said) and the rudeness just began since she picked up the phone. I have dealt with these type of collection companies in the past and this is BY FAR the worse I've encountered! First I asked what was this in regards to, but she stated that until I verified my address and date of birth, she couldn't give any information. Once I did and asked her to mail me whatever they had for me, she stated they don't send anything in the mail. HUH??? Long story short, I would NEVER have the most minimum desire to make any sort of payment arrangement with anyone this NASTY, RUDE, and PATHETIC!

This number has been calling for a YEAR!!! It's always a recording asking me to call them back. Says it's "First Point". I answer now & then so I can ask them to quit calling. Today I answered and got a real person who said it was Ed Thompson. I asked what I could do for him. (Twice). He wouldn't tell me & said he'd call back at a later time. Probably because I sounded pissed off......... well, after a year I am!!!!! Once they wanted my name, the last 4 of my social, and my address. I don't think so!!! So I called back 4 or 5 times until I got a real person again and told them to quit calling this number. The moron that answered said it didn't work that way. So I cussed him out & threatenedd to call the District Attorney of the county I live in & hung up! I've had enough. I pay ALL MY BILLS and own 3 companies. For cripes sake, give it a break!!!!!

Like all debt collectors, they like to bother people.  They have called me many times.  They are a debt collector. BUT, they are trying to collect from me on a bill that was long been paid.  I now have the original creditor, First Point and Equifax dealing with each other to get the issued resolved.

The greatest thing that has happened in new technology is the ability to block a caller without involving a carrier! Or at least you can do this with an iPhone. Hit the info button on the number that called, scroll down to the bottom and tap where it says "Block This Caller". Of course some will continue on different lines, but I'm way more determined that they are. *ssholes!

👍🏼 (I couldn't give a thumb's up on this site because I'm not a "registered" user. But I can post or reply to your message. Weird. Anyway, I just posted about how I love you can block these jerks with an iPhone. It's the greatest!

Do you have an iPhone? I ask because I know how to block a caller with an iPhone. I would think that most other cell companies do also. With iPhone, tap on the info button of the call number, scroll down and there it is. Block This Caller!

Got tired of getting these type of calls.  So-called charity ,political & collection calls are exempt from the do not call list, so I ordered this phone that blocks calls and now when these calls come in, just push one button and the phone blocks the call, works great!  Only wish I had got it a long time ago.... check it out here:  http://amzn.to/1TXeFHM

This is "FirstPoint Collection Resources"...they are the epitome of all the nickel-scrounging bottom feeders. I owed a $220 debt to a medical assist service, whose last billing to me got misplaced (I get some outrageous number of doctor's every month). These idiots kept mailing me demand letters as BA's of the doctor billing service, only naming the wrong creditor. I found the missing bill with all its CORRECT information and the creditor in full. I told them about their choice of collector, and that I wasn't going to deal with the morons...that THEY can settle up with whatever THEY owe them. I'm done. When I get the cancelled check back (it has "Paid in full" on it), I'll notify Equifax to get this off my report...which FirstPoint damages to compel you to pay. This will be a happy ending, along with some extra money in MY pocket if they ever ring my phone again.

My husband had a stroke two years ago.  The bills were enormous.  We worked out deals with the major creditors to pay monthly and never missed a commitment.  All of the bills are paid in full except for one.  This one was turned over to this company with a balance of only $105.00.  They even put a comment on our credit report which dropped our rating from 826 to 800...still an awesome rating.  I have told them every time they call to send us the bill and we will pay it.  They REFUSE to send a bill.  They want me to give them my bank account information over the phone, which I refuse to do.  This has been going on for six months, and I am so tired of it.  How do I get these people off my back?  Why can't they just send me a bill?

They were required to do this after the first message or conversation:

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Now, this is what you must do:

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notion of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/
    http://www.consumeradvocates.org/find-an-atto ... tates_value=All

Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
