- AnonCalled me (HR) to verify employment. Voicemail said they were attempting to collect via a Federal wage garnishment. Our company policy is that we do not verify any employment without the employee's permission (via the signature that they leave with the caller). I'm not replying. I know for a fact, after handling the garnishments for the student loan, my employee paid in full. How unprofessional.

- TCReceived a voice mail w/ref number & called back. When I asked what it was regarding they quoted a bunch of statues regarding release of information. I then informed them that the company was closed & hung up on them.

- Having funI called several times leaving prank voice msgs with a prank hotline phone number, leaving the phone in front of the radio, and 45 seconds of heavy breathing (with out laughing, thats hard to do)
- someone that can helpI will let you in on a little secret if you are working and start getting calls you could either hear these people out get yourself on the rehabilitation program which is solely based on the balance you owe usually 1% per month for nine months (keep in mind these people will try to get you to make big down payments but don't fall for that) if you complete the rehab program then you get the all benefits like cleaning up your credit report regarding this loan in default you can get title iv after being on program for six months without missing any payment of course, you will be decertified from getting taxes offset if you are married you could qualify for injured spouse, and you will not and can not get garnished.
Now the second option is if you can not afford payments (keep in mind if you owe 30k most likely your payments should not exceed $300/month) then what you could do is just sent in what you can and you will not get garnished but you need to send in money every month if not they start garishment procedures but you do not get any benefit other than no garishment
In other words if you want to get back on track then do rehab program if you can't afford payment then send in what you can if you have any questions about what to do I might be able help- Caller: cti

- I appreciate the info| 1 replyYes, I owe and I would prefer the wage attachment because I have a record of payments. However, once it is completely paid will I be able to get title IV or VI reinstated.

- CrystalThese [***] called my mom's house and gave her two phone numbers to call them back at. I told her if they ever call again to say she knows nothing about me or my friend. They were actually asking for an old friend of mine as well. I told her to say she doesn't know anything or anyone by that name and to just hang up on them. Invasive pieces of sh*t.

- HRoseJust received call from 800-620-4284 asking me to calll back at 877-522-6898 leaving a reference number. I have dealt with these people before. I set up a payment plan before, never missed a payment, was told about the rehab program, which was a crock of s***, and they still garnished my wages on top of my payment plan. I am not denying the fact that I owe student loans, but to lie to me and garnish my wages on top of me already paying back my loan voluntarily is obsurd. On top of that, they call and call and call all hours of the day and night, are rude and obnoxious on the phone and don't listen to anything you have to say. I refuse to deal with these people any longer!!!

I have a stress related condition which I am applying for disability for and their calls cause me severe duress. I first spoke with a Michael (MPW). I told him my situation, after grilling me for my id. He claimed they never rec'd my notes.
I have a hard time dealing with stress, he was going on about legal action against me and found this very stressful. I asked for their address which he should have already had at his desk. Instead he put me on hold. The hold music was some baby music, worse than the Barney theme song. When one is agitated, dealing with credit collectors, the type of music can make the experience worse. I told him this to which he could care less.
I asked to speak to his manager Anna Anderson. I was going to mention their mailing address should be at workers desks so they don't have to put people on hold. I started off, by saying the baby hold music was inappropriate. She replied with feeling that my feedback was irrelevant. I asked to speak to her manager. She put me on hold with the baby music and the call dropped.
I called them back and asked to speak to a supervisors supervisor and was told I would speak with Annie Gonzolez. Instead I spoke with Eric Castro. I told him I expected to be treated with dignity. I explained I had written them multiple times to only mail me stuff, that I was applying for disability and that these calls are very disturbing to me. I said that I thought the hold music was inappropriate. He said that was not going to change. I said it ought to be considered. He then threatened to call the police on me for expecting him to consider this feedback and hung up.
I called back for Annie Gonzolez x3104, the cruelest hardest hearted of the bunch. She kept harping how I have not paid my debts in 20 years, why not? why? why? She also stated that they did not have to provide customer service, that they only had to provide the facts, that despite Eric threatening me with the police, the two people hanging up on me this was acceptable. I found this greatly upsetting, especially since I have written them many times to stop calls.- Caller: CTI

- HROur Company received a voice-mail from a Steve, who claimed something about federal garnishment orders and also left a file number to reference when I return his call to 877-620-4284. They answered CTI. They are a "collection company" for student loan garnishments.

- Employer replies to Jessica SullivanI'm an HR manager, CTI called here stating they needed to garnish an employees wages. Gave me the employees social security right away without me even asking for it. Once they spouted off the SS# I asked that they please give me a name of the employee. The person they gave me has not worked here since 2005 so I let them know. CTI rep let me know she would take our company off the list and will stop calling... we'll see I guess! Was going to ask for information in writing from them if it was someone who currently works here, but it didn't need to go that far luckily!
- KentI just received a call at work from these people. They asked about someone I knew way back in highschool and if I knew where they were. The CTI rep then stated the person they were asking about had worked for my company, but they never had. They wouldn't give me any information but also asked for my social security number to "verify" my identity. The whole thing seemed shady and I refused. This definitely seems like a scam.

- KeithGot a call from this number, on my cell phone yesterday.
Shows number only. No business name.
Thankfully, I left my phone in my vehicle all day, so I was NOT
woken up from a sound sleep at the time of the call.
Never bothered to leave a message either. So, I have NO idea
who is calling, or why. And because I'm NOT gonna waste cell phone time,
I have NO intent on returning the call.
I've never had student loans for anything.
Currently, I have nothing outstanding that requires attention.
Gonna be filing complaint soon. Probably when I get up tonight, before work.
