- She WolfMy husband rec'd a letter asking him to call if he "Did Not" set up an account online. The # to call is
1 800 633 4227. I did speak to the real Medicare on the date written on the letter but NEVER opened an account for my husband. I came here first to check on the number as I see in previous posts it is a bogus number. Perhaps we should go back to the days where thieves hands were cut off. I think there would be a lot of handless people at the phone centers. This is awful, there would be older folks that still trust that would call the number and give their information freely. So very sad that this BS happens.- Call type: Scam suspicion

- Major FunPart 2 for 800 Medicare number:
Heavy Indian accent rep from Medicare wanting to verify my SS info so he can send my new plastic Medicare card. I’m shocked he knew my address and date of birth. Didn’t sound legit, so I played with him for awhile. Said he was in D.C. but caller ID said Detroit, asked his address he gives 16 Pennsylvania Ave. which comes up as a house. The 313-497-5639 line disconnects and he calls back and ID says 800-MEDICARE (800-633-4227). Asked him to give me last 4 numbers and I’d give him the first five, he got confused and said he didn’t have that number and I asked how then can you confirm it? He said he was going to disenroll me from Medicare, for life… ok I said.- Caller: Indian accent guy
