- AliceCalled four times in the space of an hour. Did not leave a message. The location is listed as “unknown.” Appears to be some kind of scam.
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Miron TikhonichSeveral calls in the last few days. Let it go to CID and contact is broken during my recorded message. Too bad
that there isn't some kind of device which would disable their phone systems (and them, too!) once it is determined that they are scammers. There is scum and then there are these people who look up to scum!!!- Caller: ?Medicare? (Spoofed)
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Duke9 pages on this scammer! Called me 3 times within 2 hours. Beats me why they think you'll answer the phone from an unknown number ("toll free caller") that called repeatedly. These people are really stupid.
- Caller: scammer
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Scam FerretThey called but, alas, I was out. It went directly to voice mail which has the phone company's 3 tone line-not-in-service message on it. My voice mail will still take a message but none was left. Perhaps they actually listened to the line-not-in-service message? I doubt it but it's worth a try
- Caller: 800-Medicare
- Call type: Debt collector
- BobScam for sure. Guy calls with a heavily accented (Indian) voice and asks me how I am doing. I asked him where he was calling from and he hung up. Be aware that these scammers also use a number with an area code 246, which is the area code for the Barbados Islands. I mistakenly answered that one a couple of weeks ago and I asked the scammer since when does Medicare call from the Barbados Islands. He hung up as well.

- GGI received a call from this number asking if I had received my new medicare card. The caller said he was from Medicare. The caller had a very heavy accent. I called medicare my self 3 weeks ago to ask why I had not received the new numbered cards and was told they were not mailed and I should receive them within 4 weeks. I assumed that this call was in response to my call to Medicare. Now that I have done a little research, I am not sure who it was from I gave out no information, but he did know my name and address.
- Caller: Said he was from Medicare
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- TiaWanted information medical history and for me to go fetch the card. I said "Let me call you back, I do not have the time right now, can you leave a number? Answer: No, we will call back later. They normally do not call you unless you have called them. I have not. They normally send to a letter if they need something.
- Caller: Said Medicare
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- LISSATHIS IS NOT MEDICARE, IT IS A SPOOFED NUMBER AND SCAM!!!
Seriously, folks. I just don't understand why people are so determined to either give these jerks a pass, justify the info they got so it must be legit, WHY answer and talk to them? This IS the actual Medicare number and it is being cloned/spoofed by overseas scum who is phishing for your address, infomation you confirm because they "already knew it..." (you do know it's public record or on your Facebook page who your family is, etc? Anything can be looked up). I turned 65 in December and these calls have not stopped as well as 20 other retirement/insurance/medicare/you name it scammers. I'd get 15+ a day. I called this number from an office phone that would not lead to me and yes, it was actually Medicare, American people who spoke English, a voice menu. I was told they will never, ever, ever, EVER call. This applies to 99% of numbers or companies that are posted here. This is a scam using the real Medicare number. Do NOT ever answer a call from a number you don't know. PERIOD. Chances are they won't leave a message. This goes for banks, credit cards, fake car warranty offers, home improvement places. GOOGLE the number and see who it is or if it says "unavailable ", "out of area ", unknown" or a name you don't know DON'T answer.
MEDICARE will never call you and will not randomly offer things. If you answer, ask the number and say you will call back.
My sister also started getting buried in these exact calls when her husband turned 65. He is still working and is not on medicare. An Indian woman, with deafening noise in the background if a busy call center, asked to talk to Joey. Sis said he's at work. The caller was irritated that they got someone not in line to be scammed and hung up
JUST STOP ANSWERING CALLS YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE. MEDICARE WOULD NOT SAY UNKNOWN OR OUT OF AREA AND ANYONE LEGIT DOES NOT. Yes, you can let it go to voice mail. Never give info to anyone. All they need is confirmation of a name, a relative, a town, an age and you just gave them 30 more people to harass.- Caller: SPOOFED MEDICARE NUMBER, SCAMMERS

- MarkFirst time they called they spoofed 08006334227, notice the "0" at the beginning? I have the numbers "0" and "1" wildcard blocked on my call blocker box as they are never the first number of any legitimate caller ID number. Then about an hour later they called from 8006334227, but I had already blocked the number minus the "0" as I was pretty sure they'd call back dropping the "0" and they did...
So far today they've called 4 times from 8006334227 with an ID of 800-MEDICARE. Each time they were hung up on by my call blocker box. Not to bright are they? You're being hung up on after the first ring you here! Gee I guess this person has blocked you OR they carry their phone around and answer it like a quick draw shooter... LOL...
The REAL Medicare would never call that many times nor would Medicare contact me via phone. Just like the IRS and Social Security they use the US mail service too...
There's NO doubt in my mind these are scammers! Block the number if you're able to OR just do a quick answer and hangup without any communication with the caller. They'll eventually give up and move on to another possible victim. I'm on the DNC list, but as we all already know... Crooks don't care about the DNC list!
Have a good day, be proactive and smart about your phone's security. Buy a quality call blocker box that does wildcard blocking, learn how to wildcard phone numbers, learn how to spot leased calling banks and take out the prefix or parts of the suffix with a wildcard to effectively stop that calling bank. Good luck, fight back and don't be a victim!- Caller: 800-MEDICARE

- HankFake Medicare, the caller is trying to get enough of your personal information to SCAM you with. Neither Medicare or Social Security will ever call you unless you have asked them to.

- RonReceived a call from 800-633-4227 which is the actual Medicare phone number. I did not pick up the call and they did not leave a message. I called Medicare and was advised that they DO NOT call out unless they are returning a customer's phone call. Otherwise, all correspondence is done through the mail. Apparently this is a scam trying to get information. Medicare checked and they did not call me.
