I had a Credit Card from HSBC which I have not used since 2008.  I had a yearly fee charged to my account which I was not aware of, so I had to call to cancel my credit card since I was racking up late charges.  Upon calling they asked for my phone number, so I gave it to them in thinking they needed it to verify my account or something.  I did not even think twice about it.  They were nice enough to wave the yearly fee and any other fees that occured because of it, as well as nice enough to close my account without any trouble.  This was just last night.  The number has called me twice now while at work and they did not leave a message either time.  By reading everyone elses notes, I think I just really screwed myself by giving them my number.

    MESS with them
800-684-8429, HSBC   call them back and mess with them.

When their recording answers, and asks for you account number, do and say nothing, their recording asks for your number again, do and say nothing again, their recording will then say, they will connect you with a person.

When they connect you with a person, F*CK AROUND WITH THEM, like, tell them YOU are with "Card Services" and ask them for THEIR account number, or, give them a list of random numbers, or, pretend like you speak a foreign language, or, just stay silent until they hang up, then, call back again and do it all over.

This number has been calling about 5 times a day starting before 8:30 AM and ending around 9:30 PM. They never leave a message. Today I finally gave in and picked up the phone. They are asking for someone who doesn't live here. I've had this number for 3 years. Do not know the person they are asking for. They continue to call and ask for that person even though I've told them it is the wrong number.
How do I make them stop harassing me for someone I don't know?

HSBC-as others report.  Automated calls (Robo) Not legal.  Calls have over 5 second dead air-Not legal.
Never leave messages-They are telemarketers for numerous big companies--pathetic. As others report--5-6 calls(robo) or computer generated per day.  Sunday included.
Bottom line--use cash $$, no credit, no plastic and you will not be on the nag list.
Wake up America!  Bigger does not have enough, they need more!

OK.  HSBC.  "card services"  Calling from the Philippines.  Telemarketers.  They handle numerous bank cards for stores/business's.  Mailing address HSBC P.O. Box 8084 Salines, CA 93912-0084.

Bottom-line-their (Robo) automated calls are not legal in US.  Not having the Robo calls answered by a live voice within 5 seconds-not legal. Dead air. FCC rules.

More than 3 calls per day is considered harassment.  7 on a sunday 10/17/10--excessive, annoying, harassment.

Please report them as I have.

It is not HSBC it is Card Services...that is why some of the comments indicate other collections. Several have gotten calls from 207, 888, 866 and all are from Cardservices. They are an ignorant group that will put you on autodial from several numbers. Need to have everyone call 800 684 8429 and keep them busy!
They pay for each call...would serve them right as they will call and call and call and never leave a message!

Be smart people call up and punch in any numbers till you get a operator,    tell them a fake name and say they called a bussiness and ask for it to remove,  if they ask for an account number tell them you have none.
dont want call to your bussiness for whatever and have it removed.   they will

Thank GOD I don't get any phone calls from them -- but they send spam CONSTANTLY to several of my email addresses -- opting out does no good at all; it keeps coming!
After reading all of this I would be petrified to phone them to stop the spam!
Not sure what to do to make them go away!
