- JUpdating on my post above. Per a letter I received today, 1-800-695-7444 X1227523 is indeed Roaman's, a.k.a. Comenity Bank, a.k.a. WFNNB. The phone calls never say who they are calling on behalf of, nor that this is an attempt to collect a debt, nor any way to contact them other than this phone number. They simply make vague threats about legal action. Also, I have sent at last count seven letters to Roaman's, but they refuse to reply to them, instead insisting on phone calls. That's because they know my rights won't be protected if *I* call them. They also are using an in-house collection agency because those people calling are technically employees of Roaman's, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act doesn't apply to them. I've already sent a complaint to my state's attorney general and through consumerfinance .gov, and will have to send yet another registered letter to Roaman's, which they will undoubtedly ignore. This is not a large balance, not even after they added $400 in fake fees to it. Unbelievable the lengths they will go to for such a small amount.

- Tina B.I got a call from "No Caller ID unknown" four times today. One message was left by a Miss Seaton or Seedon or Seadum calling from "The Bank". They have apparently been trying to contact me for a month, and since there has been no response they are going to escalate this outside of their office. She requested me or my attorney to call her back to look at "our final options for resolution". There is no indication given on what "The Bank" is or who they are representing or what it is that needs to be resolved. "Miss Seaton, Seedon, or Seadum" sounds like she is reading from a script. After reading all these posts, I see "The Bank" is World Financial Bank.
The Bank? WTH?! I don't answer calls that have no caller ID, and I don't call back people who leave me vague information. If I owe money, send me something in writing with your real full-name, real account number, real organization, and all of that good stuff. - ARTIE BUCCOAgent Nicole asked for Morris. My wife's name is Morris, I said she was not home. Caller stated it was a personal matter. Would not say what company he was with nor the reason for the call. Knowing there was another Morris at this number TEN YEARS AGO, I decided to call back to find out the last name of who she was trying to find. Ended up being the Morris who had our phone number 10 years earlier.
We had a call from these idots since two years ago , and on the message today the lad said she was agent Arnet and that either we call or our attorney... Well if they call again our attorney will call them...Maybe we'd suit them...
I think this lad missed her true calling; she should be in Hollywood, as an actor. She sounds just like the main FBI Agent on that TV show called 'The sopranos".

- AmdI've received multiple calls all day from this company. blocked, unblocked, world financial, cell phone #s on my caller ID from them. Now threats for a lawyer, I mean seriously people I know I do owe a bill to Lane Bryant but does a $321 bill really warrant this level of collection status, threats are very unprofessional and if I had the money Don't you think I would of settled this matter plus I returned $110+ in merchandise they said they issued credit via email, I didn't receive it, I haven't purchased anything since and they said I was out of luck for the refund.

- FeelingHopelessI received a call from this number similar to the rest. I do have a card that is very past due, but I also have 3 cards in excellent standing with them. I was asked the name of my attorney and told that I had until the end if the month to resolve this matter or they would be forced to take legal action. The debt is for 1900.00 and they are offering a payoff of 1200. I'm scared. Scared that they will garnish wages, freeze bank accounts, and that I will be sued. The account is past due 11 months due to job transition. What do I do? Please help!

- Bliss replies to KmooreMy parents got a voicemail on their machine saying I didn't need to call them back or else they'd take matters into their own hands. It's quite scary. I haven't called them back. I do owe a card company but have made arrangements with them to get the matter resolved. Should I call?
- Bliss| 5 repliesSomeone called my parents at their home and left a threatening message for me. They said if I didn't answer immediately they would take matters into their own hands. What are they gonna do? Put a hit on me? Does anyone know who these people are. The guy left his name as Nick.

- not Michael replies to Bliss| 3 repliesIt sounds like a scam to me. I think they are trying to scare you into paying a debt you don't owe, or they are trying to scare your parents to pay that fake debt for you. They can't really do anything to you. Calling your parents about your debt is illegal. No legitimate debt collector would do that.
If you are still concerned call your bank. Use the phone number on your credit card or on your bank statement. - Bliss replies to not Michael| 2 repliesI called them back and they said I owed a company I know I do owe. It's a balance of $460. He then proceeded to tell me that I could start making payments as of today. I informed him I didn't know my account number. Then he said he would take my debit card as payment. I told him I didn't feel comfortable about the call. I told him I would call the card company myself and talk to someone directly. He told me that they couldn't help me because my "case" was brought to his desk.
I do plan on calling the card company tomorrow and talk about it.
The whole call seems fishy in general. - CWG40 replies to BlissYou should make a complaint to the police. You've been threatened with physical injury.

- Orlana| 1 replyGot a call from this number today. I do owe money to Lane Bryant but the message I was left is NOT the way to get me to pay it. He was incredibly threatening, didn't tell me who he was ('this is in regards to a matter that came across me desk'), wanted my attorney to call him and if I didn't have one it was in my best interest to contact him back.
At this point, if Lane Bryant wants it's the $400 in late fees I owe because they never sent me a bill, they can take me to court. - Joe's BrainHey Joe, I'm your brain. Where's my drugs today?
