- FunnyBusinessI received the same call this morning (Nov. 17, 2009) from a David Baxter with Explore Talent in Hollywood, California...blah, blah, blah. I knew something was fishy as soon as I answered the phone. I told them I was busy and couldn't talk and asked for a number to return the call. I'm just wondering how they got my information?!? They actually called my husband's cell phone and asked for me. The caller was a male and had a heavy accent. Don't be fooled!! Don't give them any information!!
- Caller: Supposedly Explore Talent

- EH217I THINK IM GONNA GIVE THEM A CHANCE, SEEMS LIKE A GREAT DEAL.....HAHAHA! Any people that are asking for $$$ up front is obviously a scam. The way it really works is they find you some talent work and you get the job, make the money and they get a percentage, not you give them $$$ up front.
- EH217What i mean when i say "THEY" is the REAL talent agencies. They dont want your money just for your money. They want your talent to help you and them make some money. So they find you work and they get their percentage. My friend is an actor who i will keep confidential and he told me that. I was looking into starting out the same way. I know how it starts too. You get so into and start looking online for some sort of agency to just give you a chance, and then you start filling [***] out and then these [***] call you like the lady that called looking for me, some lady with a thick [***] accent saying she is some Senior Creative Director....of what? She never says...lol, that right there should send off some light bulbs!! Anyway remember what i said, talent agencies do want your money but they arent looking to take it up front, they want to help you earn it so you and them can make some. These other ones are fake. I am just like the rest of you people who got called. So i wish you all the best of luck out there, if you really want to make it. YOU WILL!

A lady with a hispanic accent telling me they loved my profile picture, and wanted me for an acting audition. Forget what she said her name was, but it was the same number as everyone else.. I didn't call back, SCAM SCAM SCAM... That's stupid that they do this, and I wonder how they got all the number's!?!?!?! Well good luck everyone... And don't fall for that load of CRAP! xoxo...

He left this number as a call back and said to ask for Mel Ott? (funny...there was a baseball player named Mel Ott) His accent was very thick...Eastern European or even Middle Eastern.
First off... WHAT profile and WHAT Pictures was he referring to and how the hell would he be able to get my cell phone number which I don't use for anything other than WORK. I wouldn't give these jerks the time of day.- Caller: Explore Talent

- memakittyreceived call 12/19/09 from a "David Baxter ext 5505" representing a "------ talent agency" (name unclear) but was sick with swine flu and didn't respond. called back yesterday only to be given to a gentleman named "oscar ______" with a thick Indian accent who said he was the Creative Director and that "David Baxter" worked for him. He wanted all sorts of personal details including why at my age I wasn't married (I'm 54), why I hadn't included a personal pic (I had), and rehashed my physical details several times before pitching me the idea that their company would represent me for 6 mos for $120. When I tried to back off, he then tried to pressure me to at least give him $70 to start up. I finally hung up on the man telling him I would call him back after the lst of next month, but planning on investigating both he and his company. He told me he worked for "Extra Talent" which does happen to be a legitimate company only located in NYC not Hollywood like he represented. He also said they hired for HBO, VH1, and Paramount among others. I am soo glad I didn't spend my money on this!!!!!
