I have received multiple calls a day from the number 800-777-6116. When I answer no one is there. This gets annoying as it interrupts my work.

I called the number. It prompted me for either Nissan or Infinity. I selected Inifinity. It asked for either my account number or my SSN. I gave neither and hit zero. Automated voice came on saying this was an attempt to collect a debt...then it disconnected itself. I am not in arrears. This is bogus.

They called.  Didn't leave a msg.  I called back after looking here just for sh*ts and giggles.  I gave the automated attendant 555-55-5555 as my SSN twice.  I was immediately connected to an Indian guy who asked for my SSN.  I cut him off and asked him if he could see my number on caller ID and if he could connect it to an account.  He said yes.  I advised him not to call here again.  He then asked me if I owned a Nissan.  I told him I would never own such a piece of crap.  I finally told him to have a nice day and he responded "likewise".  Hopefully, they are diligent and call back and I can advise them that it might be best for them to just come get the POS, which I will tell them is 1500 miles away from my current location, such as a nuclear silo, or any address I can dig up from some porn site.  Debt collectors should not be viewed as a nuisance, but rather as entertainment.  :P

You are wrong. I make my payments on time and I don't have a single late payment and yet they called me anyway. My lease is about to expire and they called me about new options. So it is not ALWAYS some one making a late payment. Assumption is wrong.

This number appears to be fishing for information. They are harassing people with their cell phones or with this 800 number.  This last call they insist they are Nissan but are calling from and unknown telephone number. Most of the time they will not give you their last names. When they do give a name it sounds like an American name, but they can be foreign scam artists. This last phone call the young lady asked for a copy of the death certificate of my sister, then asked for my Power of Attorney. These are scam artists that are looking for information to steal credit reports, money, and your identity. Sorry, it doesn't matter how sweet they sound, they can not be trusted. Before the end of the phone call this lady said she was at the call center in India. It appears the Nissan dealership in Darien, CT.  got had. It didn't appear they were going at of business, nor was there a mention of them going out of business when the Cube was traded in for the bigger vehicle. This is your job DOJ to find out exactly what is going on. I think it's a good idea to have the Nissan Dealerships post their addresses and local telephone numbers for the area's they are representing.

Take their Auto Dialer away from them. They are not abiding by any USA Rules and Regulations for privacy.

There is also an Anthem's Fraud Alert happening with your private medical business. You can go on Senator Jim Himes webpage as more than likely Homeland Securities has been notified.

These are legitimate (in that they are actually from Nissan), however they are completely against a lot of laws for debt collection and DNC registry.  There is a class-action being started here: http://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlement ... wsuit-launched/

They are actually trying to collect debts, but they are doing so in lots of ways that are illegal, and with information that seems to frequently not be related to who they are actually calling.

If you call back without an account number (for example, if you NEVER had a Nissan account), they just hang up on you.
