- Gary| 1 replyYeah this a company called PennCredit and in my case they are trying to collect for abother comany called Literary Guild. From my dealings with these morons I would have to say there couldn't be anyone there with an IQ over 40. Literary Guild is a book club that I joined years ago and got some books I would like and there isn't many that this company sells that interest me. Twice a month they would send out a card that I was supposed to send back and after having books that aren't even worthy of a bonfire being sent to me constantly and me shipping them back. I personally contacted this joke of a book club and made it understood not to send any auto-shipments from this point on. They said they would give me a voucher because I got sick of playing this game. I sent them the remaining balance (almost $80.00/2 books) for the # of books I was supposed to buy to get out of this club and they sent the voucher that I could use later to complete my membership. When I did use the voucher which should have ended my membership., they started auto shipping again and this time it was 3 shipments a month, I sent this crap unfit for a fire back to them everytime and got hold of them to fix their error. Guess what now this company PennCredit has bought this bad debt that should not even exist and have been harrassing me. Our tax dollars bailed these slime bags out now they turn on the people that saved them like rabid dogs, kind of changes my view of 9/11. These idiots won't even let me say anything to them unless it is giving them my bank routing # and my blood type. If it is okay to treat me that way, well then it is not my problem when jets park in their buildings.

- ZannyI wish this people or who ever they may be to stop calling my house.
- Waterlily replies to Ms. Linda maloneThey say that to cover their ass regarding privacy issues. The fact is, unless they verify that you are the person they are trying to reach they are breaking privacy laws.
- residentthe person your recording is asking for does not live at this number and is an unknown name to me. I have called your # during business hours to report this, and been told that my number would be removed from your records. Your calls continue. It is more than a nuisance to us. Monday I will fie a report with the Missour State Attorney Generals office.

- nonchalantamusThis number is on my phone's call block list. They can call all they want, and this afternoon they called 3 times. Of course I don't know who or what they want because they can't leave a message--they just get a busy signal. And I'll never pick up. Every so often I clear out my call log of all these numbers from %$#%* bill collectors, credit card scammers, etc etc.
- karen replies to fish| 3 repliesthis is penn credit co.they sent me a bill or 16.00.So I paid it in full and they still call my house even though I sent them a letter saying I paid it in full .My next step is to report them to the BBB.
- jimbob| 1 replyI got a call from this number. FIRST, I had to push "1" to hear the message in English, which is a bunch of crap. Then they told me this was an attempt to collect an "OLD" debt owed to Publisher's Clearinghouse. HELL, I thought Publisher's Clearinghouse was supposed to pay ME $100,000!!!!! I have never done anything but click on the box that said "You need not make any purchase." and I didn't. But now, they want $188.75. I'll just wait till I get my Million dollar check from them, then I MIGHT pay what they THINK I owe them.

- gram2six~Well I just got done with over a months worth of calls from "allied...'. I kept clicking the 'off' button on the phone but one night the ole man decided to answer the call. All this time, this 'company' was looking for 'neverly', our NEIGHBOR. It finally dawned on me~I heard once that if a company can 'target' the building YOU/the creditor, lives in, they call whomever IN such building until someone answers and gives them either what they want, or, the opposite. This happened before many rules and regs popped up to a good friend of mine, and it was told to HER that the company's 'feelers' targeted' the building that the person who OWE(S,D) the $ due to them, that some intel can separate that fact/those facts. So, back to 'now', we gladly informed the company that 'neverly' did indeed live next door....but WE did not own that phone #. Whew, I thought, out of a pan of hot water.... then today I get a call from this phone number (800-900-1380) and I....shut of the ringer. LOL! I ADMIT that some days I HAVEN'T got the stones to dis someone, this IS someones' J O B. But I so wanted to just say pizz off and deal with it! I live in northern NE...not real sure how I got into a 'Penn' billing ag'cy..... I contacted my local legal aid department last year after getting many calls from several collectors, both legit and not...that ag'cy provided me with a cover letter quoting LAWS & #'s etc that it just blew me away. All I had to do was ask for a mailing addy, a central person to cc this to, and TA~DA~~! no more calls.... (this even worked on the company that I DID have business with..... just sayin'! wavin' from chilly New England!

- StarI received a call from them tonight and never received any correspondence from them, I have been contacted by others that were looking for someone else that includes these people. Also the ones contacting me are trying to get money for a false debt(s) or debts that were fraudulent and tried telling that to the credit bureaus and they won't remove the debt, which is not mine but someone elses.

- mammyHow can I get them to leave me alone!!! - they don't even clearly state the name they are looking for.
We have never heard of the company they claim to be collecting for. We want them to leave us alone.
This is pure garbage. Why can't we block calls?- Caller: Penn Credit Co

- MarlaI have no idea who this is because they don't leave a message and I can't call the number back, and if I answer the phone they just hang up. If it's a debt collector, I don't know how they expect to collect anything without ever speaking to anyone.

- DeadToneI've had a so called Creditor call my house # while I was on the phone with my Hubby. I over heard the conversation, she claimed to my husband to have been an old friend of mine and wanted to get in contact with me. When I heard the name I told him I don't know anyone by that name. The Fraud called me asap when he gave my #. I didn't answer but I looked up the # which was a cell # from my state but the person from the so called agency was from texas. How legit was that. Thats why I refuse to answer anymore. If they want me and can find my # then they can send me a summons via mail if its legit.

- Gwen replies to gran on the go| 50 repliesI agree with the Gran on the go's post. At 8pm I'm spending time with my family. I, out of that normal curiosity, called them back, got a cheesy, (yes, I'm from Wisconsin), muzak music and someone finally came on the line and greeted me as Penn whatever...I asked her to repeat it and she did..I asked what the call was regarding, she said 'we handle personal business matters, please hold one moment Ma'am', sounded like she put me on hold when indeed she ended the call...I was a little irritated. I called back to ask them to 'take my name off your list' (which is ALL you have to say, and by law they HAVE to), but no one would pick up...the call just dropped so I can only assume they have caller ID. I'll get 'em. When an unwanted caller calls you for soliciting of any sort just do as I mentioned above and also get your numbers on the do-not-call lists...it really does help..Happy New Year Everyone!
- Heather replies to Donna YonceDonna, the people who called you are not the ones running this site. Yelling at them here does no good.
However, it is pretty slimy that they call on weekends and holidays. - Irritated in SC replies to anonymousBut when a collector keeps calling for someone that does not live at your address and you don't even know, it is harrassment on their part. And even when it is a bs call that should not be made because the number is on and has been on the Do Not Call registry for many yrs. So when I tell them that they need to stop calling for those reasons and they keep calling anyway, I will report them for harrassment.
- Misled replies to jimbobThe first (and LAST) time I entered PCH's sweepstakes on their website with NO intention of buying anything, I immediately received a popup stating to the effect of" "Thank you for your order". Uh, uh! I called PCH and told their rep the information on their website was misleading and if I received any magazines or bills, they would be returned. She apologized profusely and cancelled my order.
