I get calls that are a automated recording asking for someone with same name as mine, they have called sundays, after midnite, 4a.m, and even Christmas and new years day at 7 am and at least 10 times a week for the past 6 months. there is no option to even leave a message that they have the wrong number, I suffer from sleep disorder, and have weird hours that I can get the little 4 or less hours of sleep a day, and I am elderly and disabled and this is getting old to the point im about to pull my few remaining grey hairs out and wish I could pull theirs out.  please please stop the madness!!!!!  id like to just change my number but ive had it for years and its where people can get ahold of me.

Been receiving robo calls for years addressed to someone who doesn't live here. Have tried countless times to tell the Alonzo doesn't live here. The calls never stop. Today I responded that I was Alonzo and reecived a message that it was a debt for $77.37 from Pubishers Clearing House. Caller never identified themselves but I searched on number and learned it was Penn Credit Payment Center. Tried to call them, not open on Saturday PM. Went on their web site. Absolutely no way to lodge a complaint are ask them to stop harassing me as the calls are for someone else. Tried Publishers Clearing House Web Site. Same story, absolutely no way to contact them about a matter like this. Right after I got this number several years ago, I starting getting a lot of calls for Alonzo. All debt collectors. Comcast at that time was still listing my number as Alonzo's (as well as mine). At that time most of the calls stopped, but a couple continue. Most notable are the calls from Penn Credit. There seems to be no way to stop them. Tried to log on to Comcast, my telephone provider, but having trouble, they say they are having problems. As soon as I log on I understand I can list this 800 service number on a list that will be rejected. This is not the only robo call I get. It looks like there should be a better solution. I think each of these three companies are at fault and should be held accountable, that's: PCH, COMCAST, and Penn Credit. I think the solution for me will to either not have a home phone or use of the technology-based solutions.Tired of it.

Received call many times.  Finally answered.  It was a recording, said "I have important information for you.  If you want to continue in English, press 1."  I hung up.

If you MUST answer each and every phone call, why do we have answering machines and/or voice mail?  Wouldn't they be illegal?  You do not "have to" answer each and every phone call.  For all they know, you're not home.  Do they expect you to forward home calls to your cell (assuming you have one) so that you can answer every robo telemarketer call to sell you the latest red bouncing ball-catcher gizmo to help your aching back or some other such nonsense.  Does that also mean you MUST buy whatever they're selling? :D  Or that you MUST pay the allegedly overdue bill, even if you dispute it?  Sarcasm doesn't work well in writing unless you spell out that's what you really mean... maybe a parenthetical comment "after"? ;)

BULLSH*T!!! my home phone is NOT in my name, its in my mother in law's name.  I don't give it out on credit applications, but some how, people keep calling me on it and asking for me.  Companies that i haven't done business with in 10 years, but want to claim I owe them money? "collection agencies" are all a bunch of scam artists.

Bullsh*t again! i have gotten calls up to 5 times a day every day from the exact same #.  When I answer the phone, there is NEVER anybody on the other side of the phone.

LOL.. only allowed to call every few days my ass! stop trying to make people feel bad for you for "just doing your job".  I have yet to meet a credible collection company.

Thanks to all for your helpful comments. 1380 called me to night so I googled it. I found this site. I am with the guy who erases all such garbage at once for efficiency. Answer the phone? Never! Google unknown numbers, 800 or other? All the time. Thanks to all who contributed to my knowledge of this company. Make certain the backup batteries in my caller id unit work? You betcha! In the old days we used to see toilet paper with president Nixon on it. I am waiting for the Penn Credit version to arrive.

I ignored their calls for about a week, but they didn't stop. So a few days ago when they called I picked up and disregarded all they had to say and tried to sell them a car. They eventually gave up and hung up. They have not called back. Maybe that is better than the DNC list. BTW most companies can claim that they have written permission to call whether or not they do which displaces the DNC. Also car dealerships can void DNC if they have gotten to a certain point in the car sales process with a pontential client. And its apparently 100% legal if immoral.

Nice try, shill.  If the cheapskate collection companies would go beyond the freebie section of people-finding websites and spring for a real skip-trace, they wouldn't be bugging people who don't even know the debtor.  Moral:  Ignore and neither answer or reply to calls from/for those you don't know.

    MAD DOG
I've been getting calls from them for several weeks looking for somebody else.  Up until tonight, they always called during the day when I'm at work.  This time they called me at 8:30 on a Sunday evening.  I have a Panasonic answering machine/cordless phone system that has call blocking as a feature.  So tonight I finally blocked them.  Hopefully it works.

Lost track of the number of times they have called. Answered the last two times and didn't even get the satisfaction of a recording. just dead air. Finally went ahead and blocked them. If they don't even have the common courtesy to even give me a robot, to h with them.
