- sherry Applegate replies to anonymous| 1 replyStop calling me I have known job or money I told you this there's nothing I can do I'm tired of saying this if I had money you would get it stop calling I can't wish money and I'll have it
- MAC replies to risodocDon't ever answer a call that tells you it's personal business or any other [***] matter. Once you answer the phone it tells them it's a working number whether it's for someone else or you. It reverifies the debt. This is information I got from a friend that works for the justice dept. The collection agency needs to inform you of the debt along with verification you are the person they are looking for by mail most of the time it comes certified! So for your own sanity DON'T answer these calls. They eventually give up!!

- noanswerforuI must think that these credit agencies are all reading these comments and probably answering some of them. All 8000,888,900,etc are blocked from my phone. Get a "Call Blocker" its an all-in-one call blocker. And it works great. Once you see a number that you don't recognize, you hit *2 and then hangup. They cannot get thru and even if they try you won't hear the phone ring at all. When you look at the "Call Blocker" it gives a list of callers and how many calls you have blocked. If you accidentally block a number, then press the delete button. This product was developed in England and sold on either HSN or QVC. Its about $60 but well worth the investment. Check it out.
- Beverly Cavness| 1 replyI keep getting calls from Pen Credit Corp.I donot owe any not paid Credits. I have contacted my lawyer. No one talks when I do answer.I see it is from them on my phone.
- Caller: Pen Credit Corp.
- BigA replies to Beverly CavnessThere are numerous posts in here telling you what you need to know. You might want to find them and give them to your attorney. He should be able to get a good FDCPA case and possibly a TCPA and an FCRA case out of this, netting both you and him some big bucks. If he can't handle the case, here is where you can find someone who can.
Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

- deb replies to CharliHow can you prove that your hearing was lost from a 1 time call. That is hard to prove.
- Deb replies to NettiYou can report them, they will have to pay a hefty fine for not honoring your do not call list. That is what that is for. Report them next time. Just keep track of the time and day they call. Send it to where you put your name on the list to not be called and they will take care of it. Plain and Simple, you shouldn't have to resort to a whistle, I have seriously thought about it.
- NellThis caller called my tenant looking for me. He told them I did not live there and they just hung up. How they got his number I have no idea. Funny, they have not called me
- AliceRobo-caller left a message asking that a man who died 10 years ago get back to them. They may have to wait a while.
- Caller: Penn Credit
- Call type: Debt collector
- natsue replies to Debtcollector| 2 repliesDebt Collector that is an absolute lie!
I am presently being harassed by Penn Credit via phone, for a QVC debt that the previous phone number owner had, or, they simply picked a number out of the air and it happened to be mine. Either way, it's not my debt, as, I don't shop with QVC. They asked me if I received their written correspondence, and, I said "No, most likely, because, the address you have is not my address, which, matches my phone number!" They hung up on me, but, continue to call.
So, don't act like just, because someone is receiving collection calls, there must be a legit reason- that's BS. And, just because someone uses someone, as a reference, doesn't mean they deserve to be harassed, either. They didn't incur the debt, and may not even know they had been used as a reference. And, don't get me started on the collection agencies, who, buy up old debt that in a lot of cases are not collectible- like debts discharged in bankruptcy and shamelessly try to collect on it. I've had it happen to myself with debt discharged in bankruptcy 10 years prior.
So, you can take your Boy Scout act somewhere else. Let's not pretend, that, debt collectors are the pinochle of morality! - BigA replies to natsue| 1 replyFirst you are replying to a troll that posted here 2 years ago, so you are wasting your breath so to speak and passing up on the many informative posts in here that tell you exactly what you need to know and to do to make these crooks stop calling you. Read and learn, or put up with the calls. Your choice.
