Please be aware this is a SCAM!!!!!!! and FRAUD!!!!!!!!

Do not answer phone if someone calling from this number. They pretend to be a Verizon employee and tell you that you need to make a payment on your account and that they will give you a $50 credit on next bill. Then they tell you that they need your account password, the last 4 of your social, and your credit card info. Then after you tell them everything. They call Verizon and pretend to be you and order cell phones on your account.

This happened to my brother. He lives in Texas and someone ordered $800 phones on his account and shipped them to Chicago.

Verizon needs to stop this, apparantly my brother isn't the only who has gotten this phone after reading all of the other complaints. My cell phone number is on his family account. I am taking it off and switching to At&t.

Just got a call from these shysters. Didn't answer but did the check, glad I did.  Got to be smart these days.  Don't know, don't answer.

This is a total Scam. I just got off the phone with Verizon and she said that they only mail offers like and would never call you to verify your account information... Never give out any information unless you call them...

I received a call from a dude with a foreign accent claiming he needed to confirm the transference from Al-Tell (or O-Tel, as he pronounced) to Verizon, he requested Zip Code and the last 4-digits from my Social Security Number.
Al-Tell was transfered to Verizon about 4 YEARS AGO. Don't fall for this.
Somebody is got to put this people in jail.

In Feb of 2007 my son decided to trade in his Verizon prepaid phone for a contract phone. They never deactivated his prepaid phone.  I realized 4 years later that i was still being charged for this phone.  The charge was automatically put on my Discover card. My wife who passed away used to pay our bills,so when I took over I never noticed the unwarranted charges. I've paid $ 37.84 a month for almost 4 years. Verizon claims it is the fault of the credit card company. That is rediculous !  it' s a charge that is automatic until the merchant ( Verizon ) stops it. I have been given all sorts of excuses denying my refund. Even the Attorney General has failed to help me. I'm an elderly citizen who deserves fair treatment. All comments suggesting help in this mattter,would be greatly appreciated.

They apparently dropped the discount to $50.  However, the minute they asked for identifying information, I told them I had another call and googled.  Thanks for all the useful information to all of you!

It's definitely a Verizon Wireless number, as it's the one tech support gave me to call back on a different phone with so we could trouble shoot my cell phone. I'm sure that's the same number they use for various things (Could be billing reminders? Tech support follow-up calls? User satisfaction surveys? etc etc etc)

I put this number in to see where this call came from. Then I realized it was Verizon Wireless as I called them last evening to switch cell phones (from my older one to a newer one.) The Sales representative called me back on my landline as I had originally called her on my cell phone to do the switching over of service. This was a LEGITIMATE CALL! I had just forgotten that I gave her the number to assist me last evening.

Under call type.... what shall I put.... none of the reasons fit!!! What does SMS mean?

I got a bill for $2,600 from Verizon in October and my bill is usually between $260.00 $310.00 a month!!! I have spent a total of 8 hours trying to work the problem out!!! They lowered my bill...but, now want me to pay the taxes on the $2,600!!! Ugh!!! It's December and they are saying they will shut my phone off if I don't pay the extra $200...but, guess what...because they put me through so much stress they will give me credit of $100.00 next month...what???? Just signed up for another 2 years in September!!!! Ugh!! Makes me sick!!! Never go with Verizon!!!!

Caller claimed to be a Verizon rep looking to refund $50 to my account.  I haven't had a VZ phone in over 2 years, and as soon as I mentioned this, the caller said something about updating their list and ended the call.  Didn't sound like a real call center - background noise sounded like a small kid and the rep sounded unprofessional.  Def a phishing exercise.

I received a call on 1/18/2012 saying that my cell phone was going to go dead because the bill hadn't been paid. He asked for the main number on this account so he could talk to billing.  I said that I didn't believe he was at Verizon because they would have the main number and I hung up. He called back, again insisting that the phone service would be cut off. I said the bill had been paid.   The call was disconnected. I called my wife. She was going to call Verizon. The guy called me back a third time. I said my wife was calling Verizon. He said ok and hung up. This is a scam.

Got a call and they claimed they were Verizon Wireless and I had overpaid them on my last bill.  (no way)  They wanted my account password so they could credit my account.  LIARS!

This Mother F*ucker is at it again today.  I received the call about getting the $50 credit on my bill for being such a good customer.  Interesting they had all of my information except my account billing password which he claimed he could only credit my account with the password.  I gave it to him it all sounded legitimate, then got to thinking, something might be wrong.  I went online to myverizon and was looking for any thing suspicious and Verizon rep actually called me and said this guy was trying to order a phone against my account but not shipping it to my home address.  Luckily they were able to stop it.

Received a call today from 1-800-922-0204.  No message left.  Not only do I not answer 1-800 calls, I'm not even a Verizon customer.

I just wanted to point out that you need to be careful about the numbers you call vs what numbers call you. Yes, this is a real Verizon Wireless number for you to call. But if you -receive- a call from this number, it is most likely a scam.

Our company credit card had a large charge with the same type of description VZWRLSS*IVR VW and the 800-922-0204 number. Thanks to this site I knew it was fraud and called our credit card company.  We had 4 other charges in smaller amounts over the past 5 months...the charges were not noticed at the smaller dollar amounts. The credit card company found all of the charges, put them into dispute and cancelled the card.  Thanks to all of the posters who saved me from the trouble of calling Verizon about this.

I recvd a call from 800-922-0204 and they said they recvd returned mail from me, I would not give them my new address and i asked for a number to call back to give them my new address and indeed it was a legitimate call from Verizon. So this number 800-922-0204 is legitimatly VERIZON WIRELESS. You can call the number direct and check it out.

I received a pre-recorded call from this number saying I had $100 credit on next month's bill - I just need to visit verizonsummer.com and log in. *Do not* visit verizonsummer.com, it is not owned by Verizon. This is a phishing site:
