I just got the $140 phone call.  It appears to be from a legitimate Verizon #, but it isn't.  I called Verizon using the shortcut # and was told it is a scam.  Don't be fooled.

I just received the phone message about the $140 scam as well. Crazy how it shows up as Verizon's Technical Support line. Knew right away it was a scam...I'm not that naive.

This is SPAM asking your to long in to Verizon140.com to redeem your prize...

Message said to go to verizon140.com to collect my $140 and enter my password.

Yes, this is the # for customer support. Problem is the call is most likely NOT from Verizon Wirelss. It has become too easy for a caller to make any number they want to appear on your caller ID. That is why the Do Not Call is no linger usefull. It has become impossible to track the callers many are not even in the USA.

We got the $140 call too. I'm assuming it's a scam. And you guys say it is too, so I'm gonna go with that. But there's no other info online about this other than in this thread? I couldn't find any which seems strange.

This is a scam. VZW would never ask for personal info of this nature on an outgoing call. If you get a call, call the # on your bill to report it so not do as the guy says & let him call you back!!

Careful folks, although VZW does have a similar number, VZW's number starts with 866, not 800.

I got the "$100 off your bill" call today and immediately checked the number. SCAM!

I just got a call from this number and it pops up as "Technical Support". They left a message about logging onto some website to redeem my $100. Sounds a total scammer.

Received a call telling me that I will get $100 credit on my next bill if I go to the website iluvverizon.com. Did not go to the web site. Call Verizon Customer Service using *611. According the rep I talked with the 800-922-0204 is a Verizon number, but is only for incoming calls to Verizon's Customer Service. They cannot make outgoing calls on this number.

Cot a call from this number today. I didn't answer but a message was left to go to a Verizon website, log in, and to collect $100 credit. I don't (and have never had) a Verizon account. I have noticed most on this forum all have Verizon accounts and/or had a charge to their accounts for phones.... not sure then how they got my number since I don't have an account with them! I'm sure if I had answered, they would have hung up right away once they realized I am not a Verizon customer.

I received a call from this number, informing that I am eligible for $100 gift card, go to iloveverizon.com.  I could not find a website by that url

Went to the "http://www.iloveverizon.com/" website and put in "scam" as the user ID and "isthisascam" for the password. When submitted I got a badly aligned "congratulations! you have redeemed your $100 credit!". Seems they are overlaying the login section of this site along with legit Verizon information and links. Be careful! I'm sure no one has the user id/password I put in with last 4 SS# of 1234.....yet I got a credit to an account I don't have. LOL

Checked the website source and found the following frame embedded:

I just got this call on my cell. It was a recording of a gruff man's voice telling me that I had been selected to have a $100 credit on my account if I went onto http://iloveverizon.com . I was a little leery because it seemed pretty unlikely that I had been a good enough customer to recive a reward like that, but I was like, oh what the hell, they can't take any of my info if I don't enter it, so I entered it into my browser and after an unusually long wait the site came up. It looked just like the verizon site, but it said to login you had to give (#1) your account ID or phone # (#2) your account password and (#3) the last 4 digits of your SSN.  I KNOW A SCAM WHEN I SEE ONE! nice try, scammers, didn't get me! Hopefully they didn't get any info just because I entered that webpage into my browser. Last week I got a text from 724-83 about my account balance saying I could pay right on my phone if I replied. I didn't. Does anyone know if 724-83 was actually verizon or a scammer?

I received that same call.  The call number that came up on my caller ID was from VZW Technical Support.  I called and notified them.  This was a pretty good redirect as I typed in the "ILoveVerizon.com" and it went directly to the VerizonWireless.com website without any delays. I noticed the javascript down below transferring and also the webpage info.  I couldn't tell if it was redirecting from another country, but VZW is looking into this.  

As always, NEVER give your personal information (SS, birthdate, etc.) over the phone or on a website (utility, bank, etc.)  they will never ask for that kind of info.  If you are concerned, always call the organization immediately and notify their security/fraud department. Cheers....

I just got an automated phone message from "Verizon Wireless" from 800-922-0204. It asked me to go to "www.iloveverizonwireless.com" and type in my account info to redeem a $100 credit. They now seem to be automating the same scam they were trying to pull listed above.  I did NOT and would NOT give any information to these people. I would call Verizon wireless and report them.

I received a call from no. 8009220204 The recording on the phone told me to call www.lovemyverizon.com and I had just been given $100.00 for being such a good customer. I didn't call.

Got a phone call today - go to iloveverizon.com and login to your account to receive $100 credit, my wife got the same message within seconds on her phone, I went to the website, it looks identical to Verizon's website, didn't login since I figured it must be a scam. I'm calling Verizon customer service now.

I went to the website iamverizon.com. You can put in whatever information you want for the username, password, and pin and it will say "congratulations! your discount has been applied". Point is, they get you to give them your login information on this site (which always says iamverizon.com no matter what you click on....another scam sign) and login to your account and get your credit card info and other stuff. I'm not sure how they get the Verizon number to show up as the caller ID (since I'm not a thief) or how they get this log-in box to look like it is part of the actual Verizon site. Just don't fall for it. Do what I do and test these things with fake information. My username was youareascam and my password was yesyour. Pin number/last four of social was 0000. How likely is it that someone would actually have that as their login info for Verizon? That's how you know they are just phishing for info.
