- JuliaI have been called by this number about eight times the past few days. Once I answered and someone with an Indian accent told me that Verizon was offering a hundred dollars for something - I didn't let the guy finish and immediately hung up because I had checked this website. I sent an email to Verizon asking them to warn their customers about this fake number i.d.
- sillyjennReceived a call from this number this afternoon from a Ms. Cruz (badge # 11236) claiming to be a verizon wireless rep. She said I was 'randomly selected' to be offered a 30% discount on my bill, all I needed to do was give her my first and last name, my billing password, and answer three questions (all of them were about call quality or text message functionality).
I had the 'this is a scam' feeling in my stomach, but I gave her everything she asked for except for my billing password, which I can never ever remember.
She said that since she couldn't identify me as the account holder (because I was not able to provide the billing password), she would have her supervisor contact me within the next 24 hrs to follow up.
I called the # back, and why not? It *is* a legitimate verizon customer service #, and spoke with a REAL rep named Chad who told me it was a good thing I didn't give her my billing password because that's what they really want, so that they can phish my account online for other sensitive information.
Bottom line: If you get a call from this number claiming something wild like discounts or promotional items, hang up. You can always call verizon and ask if the call you got was legit...they have ways of looking that up....but never give your info out to anyone who calls. I can't believe I fell for that crap.- Caller: Claims to be Verizon Wireless

- CassieI emailed Verizon about a billing issue. A few days later I got a response email asking for my account password in order to resolve my billing issue. They also left this number to call back. I am afraid to call it.
- HelpI actually got 5 letters of "recepits" in the mail claiming to verizon even though I have no verizon number! They asked e to send over my paystub, a utility bill, and a fax of social security. I told them they had to speak to my attorny and they wouldnt take his number and kept asking for my billing address password. Which how would I know? I dont have any plans with them!
I am not sure what to do at this point.- Caller: "Verizon"
- at&t customer| 1 replyBased on this site, number is from Verizon, I have AT&T. WIfe got call on her cell phone from AT&T rep(?!) with caller ID giving this number stating cell towers in local area are going down in 40 minutes until tomorrow. Even gave a $50.00 credit. No info was given by my wife to caller. When trying call someone, now get message the SIM card has failed. I have AT&T also for my provider and am able call my landline and other numbers. She is now calling AT&T customer service for verification and restoration of service.
- Caller: AT&T
- at&t customer replies to at&t customerUPDATE: was a scam. tried to steal SIM card.
- PhewTOTAL PHISHING SCAM do not give out any information to anyone calling in from this number. I had been on and off the phone all day with Verizon orderig a new device so I picked up this call - the number they've plugged into their caller ID is actually verizon's call in service number, it's not difficult to set this up apparently . Tip off is you can't hear the guy (caller) very well, he says he is representing Verizon because they have been accused of having very bad service, and he claims to be offering a 30% discount on your next Verizon bill (yeah right) in exchange for a short survey and your account information. I hung up quickly and called Verizon Wireless. VW is clear that they do not call OUT from this # ever, and this is, in fact, a SCAM.
- Caller: Fake verizon

- JpatrickReceived call from male with heavy accent. Claimed it was a promotional deal. I told him I didn't want it.
- gladicheckedReceived a call saying that I would get 30% off my next Verizon bill ... they had chosen 500 customers to receive the discount but just needed to verify my information. She never gave me her name, but rattled of her rep # at the beginning, foreign spanish accent, phone line ended up as a crossed line with hearing them calling another number, and asking for my information??? I stopped and said they would have to call me back.
I looked up this information, and then called Verizon directly. Unfortunately the 800-922-0204 IS Verizon's customer support number, but the offer is a SCAM and not connected to Verizon at all. Scam artists have used some device to change what number shows up on your phone, even if they are calling from a different number. So DON'T GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION!
Clarified with the Verizon rep and she indicated that if Verizon was calling, then they give their name (not their rep #), immediately say that all calls are being recorded for quality assurance, explain why they are calling, and of course, they almost never are calling to just give a discount for no reason!!!
Anyway ... Verizon rep was wonderful and has attempted to block the number from calling again (using the 866-922-0204 number that another person has indicated may be the culprit). We'll see.- Caller: Scam supposedly from Verizon
