The latest scam is that people are spoofing the Technical Support numbers from the major Cell phone carriers.  They call you and tell you that your account has been frozen and to enter your PIN number to reactivate the account.
They will then go into the stores (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc) and using your number, and PIN, they are able to purchase phones and charge them to your account.  They walk out the door and sell the phones.

THIS IS A SCAM.  DO NOT FALL FOR IT!

Asking "she a dike?"  "Or loose" "Both" on Nov 22 2015 then a message on Sept 3, 2016. Saying "I told her **ck the code *hit if I wanted a piece of strange **s I will just tell her in English  I have pic's of the conversation but the cell got stolen from me before he got out of prison!!!  Along with all the other electronic's that I had in my possession of his whole he did his prison time.  I FEEL he went to prison to escape any illegal activities he was doing because he took a pic of my DL lic. And e-mailed it to someone with my cell phone alone with taking over my FB that I had had since 2010 I got locked out of Also my Samsung 5. He put a security thing on it so when I found out Bout him hacking my Samsung. That when I went to factory reset it I could not get back in it. He also started up a channel on YouTube in my name! That had sexual content in it that the video got removed. Put a tracking device on car so every cell I have got since then has been. Hacked!!! The person he emailed my DL to was buying stuff at Walmart north when I bought at Walmart south. I knew it was happening & thought I would be covered BUT the FDIC In the Walmart bank in St. Joseph, MO only let's you go back only 2 months. My mother was passing away. & I lost over $1600.00 to some con friend of his. It goes on and on. I have proof for now. But everything that he had his hands on if mine had been stolen also. I had this old SD card I came across 2day. I feel he is in with these scam people!

I received a call from this number yesterday saying my Verizon Wireless account had been suspended and to press 1 to speak with a customer service representative. I did some checking and discovered this is the actual toll free number of Verizon customer service. I called 611 on my phone and talked to representative of Verizon about my account and he said there was nothing wrong with it and they were aware of this scam. He then tried to sell my spam blocking service for $2.99/month but I turned him down.

They get more creative all the time.

Called 4 times in the span of 5 minutes.  Based on what I read here, I went online to my Verizon Wireless account... no changes have been made, the bill is correct, and no alerts have been sent.  This is a scam!

I received a call this morning from this number. One of my personal rules is to know answer calls -- especially on my mobile phone -- from 800 numbers or those with area codes outside my state. If it is a legitimate call, they will leave a message. This one didn't, as do most of those scam calls. Decided to to Google this number and sure enough it has been reported as another scam.

Received a call on my mobile phone from this telephone number. A tiny bit of audio was caught by the voicemail. This is the correct telephone number for Verizon Wireless Customer Support, but, it is being spoofed as of late. Added this telephone number to my mobile phone's "Block" list.

This may be a Verizon number, but it’s probably been spoofed by scammers. Verizon charges should be added to your bill. They shouldn’t need a credit card number

Supposed technical support exploring you to press one.  This is a scam.  They purport to be Verizon but they aren't.  Be sure not to hit redial.  And how can they leave a voice mail when I have auto rejected them
