- NelsonI had the same thing they call like for five times a day how I did on my iPhone is blocked I’m a go straight to voicemail sometimes they don’t leave a message other times it’s just a computer asking them to call back that they have some important information which is BS all you have to do is just block the number and you won’t even hear the phone ring
- Caller: Spam
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- SteveFishy.... They say they are Capital one, but Capital One says they never ask for a credit card number over the phone.... so it's not them. It's a spear fishing attempt, probably from a customer list of Capital One.
- TimUnder NO circumstances give these people your information. If you are concerned call the Cap One number on the back of your card. Thats what I did and Cap One Rep confirmed it was a scam.
- Caller: Unknown(Pretended to be Cap One)

- AnonymousThis person has been calling me everyday and leaving messages identifying herself as a Capital Employee named Lynda that wanted to discuss business matters with me.
- Caller: Capital One

- Jay replies to JamesIf they leave a message it counts towards their allowed number of calls per day, before it's considered harassment. They can't call you again or something per Debit collection regulations if they leave a voicemail or speak with you..
They get around this by not leaving a message so they can call as many times as they want until someone challenges this. - Michelle replies to Jim from TexasThey sent me a text saying they were reallutsbusy busy what's up? Like I am stupid enough to reply to this ghetto tactic.
- MichelleCalls and texts me contstantly. Just hang up and pretend to be a friend via text like I am going to reply to it.
- MHas anyone thought about call blocking this number to make it stop ?? I did and they have stopped calling me 3 times a day 7 days a week !!

- Colleen CangialosiCalls about 5 times a day and leaves a recording message saying there's an important matter and its Linda calling
- Derek| 2 repliesCalled looking for someone named Scott. When I told them no one lived here by that name they got all pushy and guilty trippy about not paying bills or something. I again told them Scott doesn't live here, they called me a liar and hung up. Since then I've gotten 8 calls from them.
The only Scott I know is my neighbor and he has no business with capital one. - BigA replies to Derek| 1 replySimple solution would be a "not me" letter sent certified, return receipt to Capital One whose address is easily located on the internet.
- MDFYI, for people being fooled, if you don't answer and you call back the number they provide in the voicemail, it sends you to the actual Capital One. (I received prerecorded messages from "Linda at Capital One with an important business matter"). This is a trick to get you to believe it's them so you answer the next time they call. I called and verified that it was NOT the real Capital One calling me for any reason. So, if you answer a call from this 1800#, do not give them or verify ANY information because they are trying to defraud you! If you have accounts with Capital One, they can remove you from calls and promotional offers and only email or mail you if they have a need to. Don't be trusting if you can't verify who is really calling you, and if it's a true collection matter, you would have received prior notification by mail, which is the lawful and regulated way businesses are supposed to operate, NEVER with threatening phone calls out of the blue with no prior WRITTEN communication.

- Derek replies to BigAI was planning on doing that however, I just blocked the number. Haven't had any alternate numbers call me from Capital One since.
- chuxdaadyIt appears to be Capital One, I have accounts with them and did miss a payment. It appears to be a generic computer scripted message. "Hi, this is Karen from capital one. we've been trying to reach you about an important business matter. please return this call at 800-955-6600."
- Caller: capital one
- Call type: Debt collector
- Billy| 1 replyI’ve never had an account with capital one. They don’t leave a message. I’ve filed a complaint with my State Attorney General and with the Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.gov). I’ve also called my members of Congress at state and federal level, because this is harassment and violates numerous laws. I’ve asked them to look into it and consider a Congressional hearing. This shouldn’t happen. If it isn’t capital one, then they need to warn their customers and public.
