Capital One's computers were hacked recently.  now I'm getting calls from this number on my cell phone.  mostly at night.  3 times in 1/2 an hour. Usually I turn mute on tv, and in total silence I listen. They answer after a few seconds with their hello?  hello?. as long as the line is open, they have to pay for it. The other night, after the 3rd call, IN ONE HALF an HOUR, I answered, just by clicking on the talk, and this time I left the TV on. "Hello? Hello?"  After a few hellos, they hung up. Didn't hear from them again, last night.  Now they did it again tonight, at 7:40.  Did the same thing , clicked the phone on,left TV on,, but didn't say anything. After a few hello they hung up. I do believe that if any of my accounts was that lateNot sure, yet., I would get a letter, not a phone call, at ANY time of the day.

Considering that people who don't even have a Capital One credit card are getting these calls, the fact their computers were hacked likely has nothing to do with your getting these calls.

I just received a call before I can say hello this man is so loud asking to speake to me how does they get your information even if it. Not at how are they able t ok get our first and last name. They called with an urgent message but I said wrong number this is really scary because I have issues with people who put stuff in my name without consent.

Why? Do you think that will actually scare them into not calling you again?

Called my mothers house at 8:30pm.  She is 77 years old.

Is it a scam asked for social security # and credit card number

Walmart has changed their credit card from Syncrony bank to Capital One so now if you are late Walmart has capital one calling you and they want you to use direct deposit. Forget that.

I received an email stating that I was two payments behind on my Capital one card.  I don’t have a capital one card and they had my first name on the email incorrect.  I called the number on the email and they said wanted to look up my account with my social security number.  I wouldn’t give them that so they couldn’t help me.  I gave them the name on the email and last 4 digits on the card but they said they Couldn’t look it up with that. I also receive calls from the 800-955-6600.  I’m forwarding the email to Capital one and they can’t report it as fraud.

I've been getting this twice a day. No message, just the number and the mention of "Capital One".

I used automatic payment when they were the other bank and will set it up with Capital One also.  I like that so I never forget to make a payment.  This is a legit number.
