- Dawn replies to CornholioThank you so much, these Jerks call us all day & night, I now know that they are calling from all these numbers, you have no idea how thankful I am to you for the list of numbers!
- Annemarie-KYou would have thought that Portfolio Recovery would have figured out that this number is unreachable... I owe you nothing. My debts are done and paid for, financially and timewise, too..

- AnonymousReceived call they were demanding to know my name, refused to tell me who they were wanting to speak to. Finally spoke with a supervisor and was asked if this was such and such residence. Do Not give any info.

- Hello, Hello, Hello,Hello, Hello replies to :-) :-) :-) :-)The cops =============================LOLZZZZZZZZZZ
- catePortfoolio Recovery vermin have only one good characteristic: they are persistent. This was call # 560 !!!!! since their barrister wrote me a letter (forced to do it by state attorney general) telling me the debt is not verifiable, and that they had "decided to cease collection efforts." That was almost four years ago. They had been calling for a year and a half before that, probably a thousand calls altogher over the years. AND not one call has ever been picked up, not one!

- SunnyinFLI had to file bankruptcy which was discharged over 4 years ago. About a year or so ago, I got a call or letter from - I think - these jokers. They were trying to collect on a debt that had been part of my bankruptcy. I told them if they didn't have enough sense to check on a specific debt before paying for it, they deserve whatever they get. Haven't heard from them since. Until today when their ID showed up on my phone. I will never answer it, and they will probably never leave a message, so I won't know what this one is all about.

- Alfalfa replies to cateThe definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

We rest our case. - cateI saw an article in the Wall Street Journal the other day...don' t have it here to refer to, but the gist of it is that the federal Consumer Protection Agency is filing suit against a debt collector, and has Portfoolio on their short list of other debt collector companies who need to be dealt with.
Meanwhile, yesterday's calls were #s 576 and 577 !!!!! since Portfoolio's own lawyer wrote a letter, four years ago, stating they had "decided to cease collection efforts" on this totally unverified -- and, he stated in writing -- unverifiable ----1997 debt, which, he stated, they "bought" in 2001. The barrister Pearson did not state a reason for Portfoolio having waited eight years after that to begin pestering us with phone calls. They have been calling since April 2009, made thousands of calls, not one of which has ever been answered, decided to "cease" doing so, kept on doing so...clearly psychotic bunch of bottom feeders. And dumber than dirt, since they probably do believe that one of these days, the whole thing will turn around, somebody here will pick up the phone, agree to send copious amounts of cash to fund their recovery center. Dream on, Portfoolio.- Caller: Portfoolio Recovery

- Meggy replies to :-) :-) :-) :-)| 13 repliesThe cops can't do anything about an old debt. There is not a debtor's prison. They can't sue you if it is past the statue of limitations. I just hang up on them. If anyone is a crook, it's them for harassment.

- The BogeymanI went back and paid the original creditor. . . . Sooooo. . . Portfolio can go and try and collect from them. If, however, Portfolio insists on pestering me, I am going to claim insanity and show up at their front door with an AK47 and have a field day with them.

- JenThis number calls every single day, when I say hello, they hang up. Why call me if they don't want to say anything? Harrassment is all it is. They don't even say who they are. I had to search the number on the internet to find out who called me. This is crazy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the internet says this number belongs to portfolio recovery associates.

- jim replies to Cornholiothis is the worst bunch of idiots in the world
- michelleThey have been calling me for at least four years. I never answer. They never give up. I have no debt with anyone, and still they call. If I had a debt it was before the year 2000. Have not had any loans or credit since then. They are bottom feeders. Do Not say you owe anything because the statute of limitations has run out. If you say anything, they could reinstate the debt that they say you owe. Ignore them.

- MargieSome jerk from Portfolio Recovery got pissy with me when I answered the phone and he demanded to talk to my husband, and that he didn't need some bitchy woman to tell him that he didn't live where this moron called.... didn't want to hear that I just got the new phone number with the Portfolio baggage... Just called my attorney and we'll fix this company for harassment and gender bias.

- ValerieThis number calls my work phone. When I answer the way we are suppose to answer my work phone they hang up. I had to let it ring a few times to get the phone number they were calling from to find out who they are. One day someone will actually say something so I can refer them to my bankruptcy attorney.

- AndiThey just called and did not leave a msg. In our household we do not answer calls that we do not know. This is what the answering machine is for. IF it is important they will leave a msg. I have been harassed by sooooo many different scam artists in the past number of years. I just ignore them now. IF they get to be too much I answer the phone gets as much information out of them as possible such as where they are calling from, their name, number etc and then I report them to the FTC and FBI for fraud and scamming. IF everyone did this there would be ALOT less of this crap going around.
