These people call daily but I don't answer. I would honestly think if I owed on credit cards the company would not let me continue using them and I would be notified by mail , not phone from the collection agency.

Almost forgot the best part.  They must pay a $450.00 filing fee when they file the law suite and when it is dismissed on SOL grounds, the $450 is NOT refunded to them. . . . they forfeit it!

Very interesting information after reading other peoples experience with this caller (company). No plans on calling them back and will keep some of the information for my records about them. Hope they are stopped from calling and that anyone getting the call will not answer.

817-479-9154 called my LL 11/15/15 12:43 pm (AZ MST) no msg, cid read 'Portfoliorecov' looks to be MY first call from them (& hopefully last), I have no debt to interest a (legitimate)collector.

Got the call. Didn't answer. No message. So far, this is the 9th different number they have used. Hope my Panasonic phone call blocker doesn't fill up, it only holds 250 numbers.

Happened to me. I simply showed up at my local court at the appointed time having ignored every request by the scum bag collection agency and told the judge that the debt was beyond the statute of limitations. Bam, said scum bags were out the money they had to pay the long distance attorney and they got nothing from me. Good for them.

ALWAYS defend yourself even if you're guilty as sin. These scumbag collection agencies are not the original debtor who has long ago written off the debt and they deserve no consideration or mercy. Tell them you will see them in court. NEVER give them a default judgement. Make 'em pay for it them make 'em pay again. Even if you lose in court, which you will if it is within the statute of limitations, they lose because I still won't pay. Anyone who comes after me is going to lose. I guarantee it.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I have a throw away number that I guess someone must have had before me that owed money.

They call my landline everyday without fail leave no messages first a call from a 323-576-3496 or any and then followed by 817-479-9154. I do not if it is a coincidence.
