    Annoyed
This number keeps calling and they don't leave a message. I answered it the other day and it was just an automated system claiming that my mastercard was now locked and that I had to contact their security department.  I tried to do that, but the automated thing wanted my credit card number. Not happening.

Crooked people annoy me.  1st time they have called me and going to be the last from that #.  I always google unknown #s when they do not leave a message.  Something is fishy.

Interestingly, besides having called me, they also showed up on my Credit Report as having made an inquiry!  Is that permissable? Doesn't that count against me (too many inquiries)?

That's right Kay.  Dispute ANYTHING on your credit report using very vague terms, such as: "This account is incorrect" or "This entry is invalid" etc.  Never say "my account" or "this part is incorrect" or anything that could be considered an admission that the account is even yours.  Send it USPS certified (electronic receipt is ok) so you know exactly when the credit bureau received it.  They have 30 days exactly to research it and verify it.  If they do not do a thorough investigation of it and get back to you within that 30 days, they have to DELETE IT IN IT'S ENTIRETY (the entire account or entry) from your credit report.  That is the LAW as provided by president Bill Clinton in the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) of 1997.  (The last president that actually cared about the 99%  Maybe Obama does too, haven't seen anything impressive yet).  Thanks Bill!  Most times they will not be able to complete their task because of the volume of disputes!  If you use terminology in the dispute that tells them that you admit that the account is yours, they can keep the account on your report.  You're not lying, you're just not saying "Hey this is my account, just so you know!".  Being the anti-progress-of-citizens and PRIVATE organizations that they are (The 3 credit bureaus), they WILL break the law and try to get away with sending you a reply like, "We couldn't finish the investigation, BUT we updated your entry to say "<something slightly better than before but still bad for your credit>".  You will have to reply again, citing the aforementioned law that they HAVE TO delete it per the FCRA.  Be firm.  Each dispute takes a little over a month each time, but be persistent.  You can keep disputing everything until your credit report is 100% clean.  It's not illegal, nor immoral.  Your credit report holds you down in life.  Immoral is the US government allowing PRIVATE BUSINESSES: Fair Isaac & Company (FICO), Equifax, Experian, Trans Union, etc, to apply an completely unfair number (research the algorithms!  They take a lot of points off your score for 2 years if you simply move, or use a new address on a credit application!) to all American citizens that keeps them from achieving their dreams or being productive is society.  That's right, they are private businesses, like the coffee shop down the street, but they tell every American citizen what they can and cannot have in life, regardless of income or ability.  Also, research the statute of limitations on debt collection in your state.  Many states are 3 years for revolving debt such as credit cards (MA is 6 years because MA hates it's citizens).  After that times passes, the debt is legally UNCOLLECTABLE!!!  Also in this scenario, never admit owing a debt on the phone or otherwise, because the clock resets and the debt can legally become valid again for another round!!!  Companies that you owe money to don't lose when you never pay them.  The IRS lets them write it off of their taxes!  They then sell the debt that doesn't really exist anymore to collection agencies for pennies on the dollar.  The collection agencies call and harass and threaten you (such as this one that called you and brought you here), but if the statute of limitations has passed, they are just attempting to collect an uncollectable debt.  They will be nasty, talk down to you, and threaten you severely with legal action etc.  Know what they can and cannot do: find out in the FCRA about fair debt collection practices.  If they break the rules (which they usually do), you can sue them for $1000 just for calling you from a private number.  Fight these [***].  If you didn't have a crappy credit score, you wouldn't be spending so much of your money on high interest and you would have been able to get that loan for that investment that would have made you a millionaire by now and you would not even have this debt.  The current credit system is your own personal terrorist.  Real Americans do not negotiate with terrorists.  Fight for your freedom.

It is against the law for a company to call you after you told them to stop.  There are penalties, depending what state you live in.  (This is my understanding)

I have no idea who this is but looked several numbers up on 411.com. They all come back to "from tf"
Today I noticed a collection on my credit report from "Avante" I've never gotten this bill or notice from this company.
Seems like this so called company is not really a company. Please stop the calls. If they do have a medical bill for me, shouldn't I have gotten notice before it was placed on my credit report?
